Tish & Snooky’s Manic Panic NYC Style Asylum is the new location for Manic Panic West… recently moved from Venice Beach to the Melrose Ave. shopping district. Manic Panic West is the flagship store owned by the original Tish & Snooky of the original Tish & Snooky’s Manic Panic NYC. This west cost location first opened it’s doors on July 7, 2006 and has since become a Los Angeles staple. The original Manic Panic was the very first punk store in America founded by ex-​Blondie members Tish & Snooky in New York City in 1977. It all began in 1977 when two N.Y.C. born sisters Tish and Snooky, at the time singers in the original Blondie lineup, added some extra ambition to their rock ‘n’ roll lifestyle. They gathered up some of their clothing designs and with a $ 500 loan from their mom, opened America’s very first punk-​style boutique on NYC’s infamous St. Mark’s Place. Mom coined the name «MANIC PANIC», as her two daughters rocked by night and became business proprietors by day. New York had never seen anything as cool as MANIC PANIC.
