Mohammad A Khalifeh, DDS

Dr. Khalifeh has been my dentist for about six years now and I couldn’t be happier with him. The office is immaculate and stocked with what appears to be the very latest technology. Check-​ups, cleanings, fillings, etc. are pain free and easy. Plus, you have the option to view Netflix on a giant TV during your appointment, so you can binge-​watch zombie shows while people poke around in your mouth. That’s a win/​win! As for Dr. Khalifeh himself, the man is an artist. He completely redesigned my smile in a way that felt advanced yet cost-​effective (if that makes sense). The doctor took his time to evaluate/​discuss every conceivable option with me and throughout that process, it was clear that he was carefully considering what was best for me over what was the most expensive. Also, the office staff is super friendly as well.
…Oh, and it’s almost hypnotic how meticulously the office building’s carpets are vacuumed. Take a moment to stop and admire before your appointment.

I’ve been going to Dr Khalifeh for 10+ years and have received nothing but the best. Everyone in the office is amazing! The space is always clean, the staff is always smiling, they have Netflix for you to enjoy while you wait and I feel like they are always up to date with their technology. They are very detailed, always follow-​up with you and they genuinely care about you as a patient. A shout out to Joan who has been great from day one! As far as parking, I never have problems finding a spot off Masselin where there is 2 hour free parking. I have nothing but great things to say about the office and the staff. I’ve also referred a couple of people and they too gave great feedback!

I have been going to Dr. Khalifeh for many years (can’t remember how long). I have always been afraid of dentists so the first time I went to him, I knew he was the «Dentist who cared!» I trust him with my dental health. I now live very far from his office, BUT I will travel for miles to continue to have him as my dentist! Also, I feel very welcomed when I come to his office as his staff is caring and very pleasant.

The office staff is just amazing. Very friendly, attentive, and organized. I walked in to set up an appointment because I heard from my co-​workers that they’ve been going there for years. I’m glad that I did. They wanted me to come in the next day but I had a conflict in my schedule.
Dr. Khalifeh removed an old crown without anesthesia and I did not feel a thing. I felt so comfortable with him and his amazing assistant. Walked out feeling no pain whatsoever. Big plus that they have big tvs and netflix. That was a nice touch. My past dentists and their staff is nothing compared to Dr. Khalifeh.
Before doing any work, the plan coordinator sat down with me to explain my benefits and how much I would have to pay out of pocket. This was such a relief. In the past I was used to Dentists telling me that my insurance would cover a certain percentage then a few weeks later I get a huge bill.
So far I would highly recommend Dr. Khalifeh. My experience today pretty much brought back faith in going to the dentist. They need more dentists offices like this one.
I don’t understand why people are leaving bad reviews. They can just say no to additional work. It’s just like any other place, you should know what needs to be done and you can always say no. I overheard that their equipment is new so no need to worry about that.
** Update **
I had to go back in the following day for 30 mins so that they can take 3D impressions of my teeth. Dr. Kahlifeh knew I was a curious person so he showed me his cool 3d teeth scanner and showed me the images it took on his laptop. He then took me to a different room where his high tech crown machine was and demonstrated how it worked. He inserted the a block into the machine and on the LCD selected my name. Then it started shaping my crown. He explained what he does next and how he gets the correct tooth shading. I was really impressed with the equipment he has and that he took the time out to show me all of this. I’m a sucker for gadgets too.

I have been coming to Dr Khalifi for 15+ years. I have changed jobs… changed apartment… but I will not change my dentist. The entire office is wonderful, professional, helpful and kind. I have had different dentists within the office and have never had any issues. I highly recommend Dr Khalifi’s office for all dental needs.

Today I just got a painless root canal while I watched World War Z on netflix! Dr. Khalifeh is the real deal and located in the SAG building fellow actors! Tell Joan I said howdy!

This was one of the best experiences at the dentist I’ve ever had! When you walk in the door, you are instantly greeted by warm and friendly staff members. I probably waited only 3 minutes until I was taken in the back to see the dentist. Dr. Khalifeh was exceptional! He was very knowledgeable and friendly. He made me feel like I had been his patient for years, even though this visit was my first time. Everyone was professional, polite, and positive; A shining example of how every dental office should be!

Dr Khalifeh is an great dentist. I would suggest him to my closest friends and family. He is an extreme perfectionist and will have you leaving with a perfect smile. I had to have two teeth removed and replaced with implants. It was quite the process with Invisalign, braces and numerous appointments though I was very pleased with the result thus far! Thank you Dr, Khalifeh!

Dont be fooled by the negative reviews! Its obvious some ppl dont see a dentist often. Dr Khalifeh holds a gift many dentist wish they had! A general dentist with multi talent
who NEVER referrs out, specializing in cosmetic dentistry. Dr K holds the most modern equipment with the latest technologies and runs a very successful practice for many years! Not to mention he is a USC professor! Highly recommended to anyone who seeks only the best.

I’ve wanted to write this review for a while now to express my gratitude and appreciation to my dentist Dr. Khalifeh for taking great care of me, my friends, and my family.
My story goes a few months back when one of my molar tooth started to hurt. Based on my symptoms (sensitive to hot and cold) I knew for sure that I’m going to need a root canal but ended up with just a partial crown. I really appreciate that the doctor took his time and conservatively drilled the decay out without getting too close to the nerve preserving as much enamel as he could. He also layered the tooth with some protection to avoid sensitivity. This is what saved me from root canal. It took skillful hands, knowledge, and patience on his part to get me out of pain and restore my tooth back into shape.

I totally agree with other poor reviews. Here is my experience at the office.
I heard through one of my co workers about the other dental office and ended up here (which is my bad). After handing my insurance card to them, they couldn’t find out the exact details and they said they will get back to me. I didn’t want to schedule for an appointment until I find out the details of my dental coverage. So, I get 3 calls on one day asking me to schedule an appointment as they found out the details of my insurance coverage. I did schedule for an appointment and here goes the EPIC.
Was asked to go inside after about 45 – 50 mins of waiting where Dr. Khalife’s assistant took the x-​ray. Then comes one of the staff members of Dr. Khalife to tell me about my insurance coverage and when I told them I have seen the reviews on Unilocal,all she told me was «we dont really have good reviews» for which I just said «Yeah, it depends on every patient’s experience» and she just cut me off saying, «No, some people who are mentally ill gives poor reviews. our office is great and we are very popular (really? Do you guys talk about patients and refer them mentally ill?). Thats when I started feeling something’s wrong.
There comes Dr Khalife to whom I said I have a tooth that’s bothering me and he was unable to find out what tooth is it exactly. He decided on an ice test and asked me to tell him when the pain just shoots. when I just couldnt tolerate that and told him its hurting, he started laughing. I couldnt still understand what made him laugh when i was in pain.
And here now I get a call saying my insurance didnt support my dental exam and the x-​ray and they want me to pay them from my pocket. Great and good job Morons!!! This place is full of money-​hungry morons who couldn’t do the job well or even stop talking bad about other patients.

Dr. Khalifeh’s office has made some changes. There’s a new staff or additional staff and they are awesome. They give you that Nordstrom-​like service that I truly appreciate. You don’t have to be a celebrity to get the service you deserve.
I recently got a cleaning and afterwards they flossed my teeth!!!
Dr. Khalifeh has a great memory and totally remembers things from my first visit that was a year and a half ago. He’s personable and I feel confident that I’m in good hands whenever I have a visit.
An added bonus is that they are definitely a tech-​savvy office.

Dr. K will make you feel good, this is professional modern dentistry at its finest! This guy really knows what he is doing and he’s super cool.
I found Dr. Kalifeh about 7 years ago now which pretty much says it all… His office is very relaxed, and he and his staff have always made me feel comfortable and well taken care of. His procedures seem super well diagnosed and explained; his technique is gently, accurate and efficient. All the folks that work here just have a cool vibe and the Dr. is always up on the latest technologies, equipment and procedures.
I’m really not a fan of going to the dentist at all, but I seem to always feel good about it after a visit to Dr. K
If you’re in need, I highly recommend.
***TIP: look for free parking on Masselin St between Wilshire and 6^th… the Museum center parking lot is pricey and they don’t validate…

I just got back from this office and would have to disagree with the past two reviews. As we all know– you get what you pay for! I didnt seem to have a problem with him being pricey but maybe that is because I understand that the «best deal» doesnt always apply.
Anyway– I found the staff to be very kind and warm– including the doctor who was very funny and explained everything to me. He made me feel at ease. I felt like he took care of me at my visit and I actually had a pleasant experience.
I look forward to keeping Dr. Khalifeh and recommending him to anyone who is looking for a good dentist.

Dr. Khalifeh is the 7^th (yes, seventh) dentist I’ve seen in Los Angeles since moving here 4 years ago, and he will be the last.
FINALLY! A go-​to family dentist!
I’ve finally found a competent dentist who isn’t looking to make extra money on unnecessary procedures, has an office so old they haven’t any machines, or charges unfair, or unrealistic prices for people with no insurance!!!
Dr. Khalifeh’s staff was extremely friendly and caring (no pretentious, wannabee actress attitudes or mobster, payment-​plan hawking creeps here).
I was told the exact price of the cleaning over the phone, $ 97, and was given an appointment the same day. Unlike every other dentist, I also was not forced to buy an xray, exam or consultation… I got just what I wanted– a cleaning.
The cleaning itself was THE MOST thorough cleaning I’ve ever had in my life! Every single tooth was babied one at a time, and every last coffee, tea and tobacco stain was removed!
Usually I’d have to suffer through another lecture on smoking, or a cop-​out ‘excuse’ for a crappy cleaning on how tobacco & coffee stains can’t be removed. Dr. Khalifeh told me ‘go home, drink all the coffee you like, and come back again’! I like that.
A few other bits and bobs were very indicative of Dr. Khalifeh’s integrity:
1.He informed me my teeth and gums were in pretty good shape, when the previous 6 dentists tried telling me I will soon have terrible gum disease unless I spend thousands on special treatments, despite the fact I’ve brushed, flossed & rinsed 3x a day my entire life.
2. I have TMJ pain (treated at Cedars Sinai) which I always mention on the patient intake forms. Other dentists would immediately seize this information as an opportunity to disparage my doctor at Cedars, and try to enroll me in their very expensive, private TMJ treatments, which usually involves unnecessary jaw reconstruction surgery.
Dr. Khalifeh did not once mention my TMJ, never mind try to sell me private treatment. Instead, he stopped every 5 minutes throughout the cleaning to rest & massage my jaw. How very kind and caring!
3. The one concern he had was receding gums on 4 teeth. The receding gums, like the TMJ, is always another issue with which unscrupulous dentists try to extract mind boggling sums. 4 other LA dentists have quoted prices between $ 12,000 and $ 6,000 for gum graft surgery.
Its no wonder I have evaded treatment– Who the hell has thousands to waste on an issue that doesn’t even cause pain or make your teeth look bad? (you’d have to look very close at my mouth to notice this problem).
Dr. Khalifeh’s receptionist balked at these previous quotes, and quoted me $ 2300 for the entire surgery (and 5% off if paid in full, which I usually do)!!! Unbelievable, and thankfully, this reasonable price makes fixing this decade long problem an attainable reality.
The only thing I’m sorry about is not having found Dr. Khalifeh sooner– He could have saved me thousands in wasteful procedures, and possibly lots of pain, which I’ve suffered under the lamps of wayward dentists throughout the city.

After hearing so many good things about this dentist from coworkers, I was totally surprised and utterly disappointed!
I have to give credit to all the «front of house» people there, they are totally friendly. but that’s where the pleasantness ends.
When I went in the other day, not only did then not inform me exactly as to what I would be having done, but I had no clue as to how much I’d be paying. Despite asking repetitively for more information, I felt that the staff took that as an affront and called the doctor, who was all defensive with me.
Needless to say, my 3 measly fillings ended up costing me nearly $ 300 and I have coverage!
Not impressed, not at all impressed!
Are there ANY dentists in L.A. who are not constantly trying to sell you some unnecessary procedures and /​or are money grabbing charlatans!!!

One star. Why? Let me draw you up a list.

I had a horrible time at Dr. Khalifeh’s office. I realized my ignorance, however, after switching dentists a year later. I went to Dr. Khalifeh out of convenience, and based off a review from a co-​worker. I thought it odd that he did all the work. If the ladies at the front desk could even call themselves hygienists, then they barely did anything. They also had no personality.
I later learned that was the first sign of a bad dentist: when the dentist does all the work, even the hygienists’ work.
My first procedure was a root canal. During the procedure I went blind for a few seconds. Dr. Khalifeh said that he must have hit something he wasn’t suppose to hit. I was freaked out, but regained sight after a few seconds. I never want to experience that again.
You would think the blindness experience would alert me not to go back to Dr. Khalifeh. No, I was a sucker.
I needed seven fillings. He was filling everything, even the small ones that most dentists would wait on. He also filled a wisdom tooth that I was going to have pulled! I was so upset. I don’t know where the miscommunication was, but that was a big deal!
Anyway, after all these fouls, I decided to try Dr. Sobelman down the street for my next cleaning. I learned that Dr. Khalifeh had a lot of red flags. Dr. Sobelman couldn’t even use my transferred x-​rays (that I had to pay for!) because they were too muddy and unreadable. I was told that it was a REALLY poor xray. I had to wait a year for new x-​rays based on my insurance plan. Annoying.
Anyway, I have definitely learned from this experience, and I have since, taken on greater accountability of my own health.
Maybe the office has changed over the past five years, but after what I experienced, I don’t recommend anyone to go to Dr. Khalifeh, even though he is the closest dentist to my office and convenient to my co-​workers.

This dental office is awesome! They have a wonderful staff and take the time to be precise. Truly a great dental experience for something that is not so pleasant to do every 6 months.
