I decided to go to NHI because of the Doctor who wrote the book hair loss for dummies works at this location .I scheduled a consultation and spoke to Dr. Rassman about a hair transplant procedure, during the interview i noticed the doctors hands being really shaky so I asked if I can schedule a procedure with another doctor he seemed ok with it but had a slight attitude sort of an arrogant man .I would have scheduled a procedure but I wouldn’t want someone with shaky hands working on me so I decided to go to elsewhere.

It is Wednesday, January 27, 2016. It has been a year since my successful SMP procedure. I had a great follow up appointment today with Dr Pak and Dr. Rassman. I know I am no one special, but I still had the great opportunity to speak with both Doctors individually. I really appreciated it as a patient that you get to meet the Doctors as they are always present.
Dr Pak recommended some added touch ups because Dr. Pak (and Dr. Rassman) are all about perfection. And that perfection resonates to the Staff, from Tran to Len to Paul … I could go on … but they are the best. The staff took me the room and it was touch up time. Now, I have to say that NHI has not only met my expectations, but they have far exceed my expectations on a happiness level.
I never get a chance to attend the NHI Open Houses, but I did have the pleasure of meeting a prospect and Dr. Rassman. All the Prospect needed to see was the HUGE smile on my face and the confidence that exudes from the SMP Procedure. Dr. Rassman and I agreed that this is more than as aesthetic procedure, but really has the most positive impact on a psychiatric level.
I AM HAPPY!!! Thanks NHI. I can’t wait to see you all again at my next follow up.

What an adventure… but all good things must come to an end.
After several sessions, my Scalp Micro Pigmentation at New Hair Institute is completed.
The look is fantastic… even better than my rather high expectation.
The realistic hairline and scalp are terrific… even with a buzz cut.
I requested a fairly dense pigmentation — and got it.
I’ll now let my hair (transplanted by Dr Rassman 2 decades ago) grow a couple inches.
I bet the combo will be awesome.
And so much thanks to Dr Pak for his careful oversight and attention.

I have been to this clinic before they moved to their new location. Dr Rassman is very knowledgeable and takes his time to explain the process. He made me feel right at home. I have sent him several of my friends and they were all happy with him as well.

A year ago I was accepted into a clinical trial for a lasercap device.
Over the course of the year I visited Dr. Rassman 4 times.
On each visit I was extremely impressed with the professionalism, knowledge, helpfulness and time he spent with me. Especially considering that I was not a paying customer, they treated me like a million dollars.
You have to hand it to them to spend their time and hard work to test a technology which technically competes with there bread and butter hair surgery.
I think this is a testament to Dr. Rassman’s genuine desire to help his patients in any way he is able. When the time is right I won’t think twice about returning for a procedure.

Dr Pak is very interpersonal and delivers high quality medical care. I went in for a hair procedure and he was patient, realistic, and technically very good. I was very happy with my results. As an editorial comment, the one reviewer who complains about the results of Dr Pak’s approach to revising her «knee scar» should know better than to seek a hair surgeon for an opinion on this, regardless of whether a «fellow colleague recommended him to me for my specific problem.» While i’m sympathetic to the reveiwer’s unhappiness, as a physcian (myself) it’s odd that a physician is going to recommend a hair transplant surgeon to address a knee scar; and if so — a patient should (in my opinion) appreciate the atypical nature of this.

I had the best experience at NHI. I was a bit under the influence as my anesthesia was starting to wear off when I was taken there for my procedure, but the staff was fantastic! Dr Pak was quick and thorough and the girls who helped me, Dominique and Yvette, were awesome! Medical procedures are usually not an enjoyable experience, but I can honestly say that I enjoyed talking to the girls while they worked on me and they made the procedure much more pleasant and go by faster. The next day when my bandages were removed and my hair washed, everyone continued to be fantastic. I cannot say enough good things about this office, Dr Pak and Dr Rassman. And no, the office does not smell like death.

Just to set the record straight here — I visited Dr Pak for a consultation — not that my hair has gone bye bye yet but I like to know what my options are when it does lol. It was indeed free. He was very respectful, friendly and informative. And no, he didn’t call me or ask for this review. As you can see from my other Unilocal reviews — I am pretty harsh with bad service and in this case, there was nothing to complain about.
Clearly anyone with a scar on their knee coming here needs more than their knee examined — possibly their head along with it.
NHI has got a great rep and as you can see, no haters on here who have actually used these doctors for any services. I plan to in the future but so far, the experience was positive with good follow up afterwards.
Personally, I think that Unilocal should remove personal attacks like the ones from Candice K. off the site altogether. They make the rating that the business receives altogether useless.

Called to go in for the free consultation that they offer via their blog. I was told they charge $ 100 for the consult. I told the receptionist what their website said («free») and was told, nope…$ 100. She offered to ask the office manager about it and call me back. She did call back, only to say the office manager says there IS a $ 100 consultation fee.
Someone’s being dishonest here — but either way, poor business practice.

Dr. Rassman is the best in the business. He did my first transplant some 20 years ago and restored my confidence. It was one of the best experiences of my life to watch my hair grow back. I had a second procedure done at NHI a few years later, Dr. McCllelan I believe who also did a great job. Rassman is the leader in this field and sets realizable expectations which is all part of this area. What else can I say — I love the man!

NHI has done some great work. Unless I offer the information, no one to date (5 years since my 1^st procedure) even noticed I had any work done. Also, their prices are significantly lower than most other transplant specialists I checked out. Dr. Pak and Dr. Rassman are very professional and they don’t try to «sell» you on procedures you don’t want or need, unlike some other places (Hair Club, cough, cough). Too bad they are only based in L.A., but on the upside they will help pay for airfare & hotel if you live out of driving range.

2 months later I receive emails from Dr. Pak about my review on Unilocal.Instead of contacting me through Unilocal,he used my email I put down on my contact sheet at the office to email me about his dislike of my review.
I don’t appreciate being contacted through my private email about a review that I am entitled to make on a public site. I understand he may not like what i have to say, but that is my experience, and I don’t need to be attacked for it.
UNPROFESSIONAL, in my opinion, and further highlights the awful experience I had with him in his office.

STILL UNPROFESSIONAL AND BITTER I see, Dr Pak from your response to my review. What business behaves like this? Don’t take it personally, and try to conduct yourself in a way which still makes your business look good despite patients who have a less than stellar visit. Your comments are childish for someone running a business and only further highlights the way you conduct business. I understand your personal ego is hurt, but learn to separate that from business etiquette.
He did NOT offer to reimburse parking. You didn’t use my email to «follow up» as you claim that’s what its for, you used my email to contact me because you had a problem with my Unilocal review. I still maintain this is UNPROFESSIONAL.
I came to him because his FELLOW colleague recommended him to me for my specific problem. For you to post the reason for my visit on this public website again illustrates your lack of ethics. Whether you were able to help me or NOT, doesn’t excuse your horrible attitude when dealing with patients.
Whatever you are going to this doctor for, reconsider.
