History
Established in 2006.
Since 2006, Riko Method School of Piano has been offering in-home piano lessons. Over the past 7 years, our school has grown to include a staff of multiple instructors, administrative staff, and a super supportive office dog!
Our talented staff teaches private in-home lessons throughout the Los Angeles area as well as in our salon. Additionally, we offer group classes in piano and songwriting.
Meet the Business Owner
Riko W.
Business Owner
Riko was born in Okinawa, Japan in 1965 and started piano lessons at age four. She studied with Walter Hautzig at the Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins University, Mack McCray at San Francisco Conservatory, and Edson Elias at Ecole Normale de la Musique in Paris, France. She has been performing in both solo recitals and chamber music concert series in the US, Japan, France, Germany, and Italy since 1986.
Her teaching experience ranges from lessons of beginners aged between 4 – 92, workshops for recording artists, and seminars and master classes piano instructors all over the world. In 2006, Riko founder her own piano school, Riko Method School utilizing her unique curriculum. Riko Method is a non-condescending method to teach piano quickly and efficiently but teaching student to see systems and patterns in the music. Her method will have even the newest student making music in the very first lesson.
