Established in 2009 Dr. Steven Kupferman and Dr. Benjamin Walline met while attending medical school at the UCLA School of Medicine in a program that included an additional four years of training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and General Surgery.

As young surgeons, Drs. Kupferman and Walline were highly recruited by the Southern California Permanente Medical Group. After two years as an associate, Dr. Kupferman left the medical group and founded The Los Angeles Center for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Century City, CA. Dr. Kupferman was able to grow the practice immediately due to his advanced surgical skills and vast scope of practice. In 2010, Dr. Kupferman recruited his long time friend and colleague Dr. Benjamin Walline. By 2010, Dr. Walline had already gained the reputation as one of the most skilled orthognathic surgeons in Los Angeles. Together, Drs. Dr. Steven Kupferman attended dental school at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts and medical school at the UCLA School of Medicine in Los Angeles, California in a combined program that included an internship in General Surgery and three additional years of training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

After completing his residency, Dr. Kupferman served as an associate in the Maxillofacial Surgery Department of the Southern California Medical Group (Kaiser) for two years.
