Established in 2009 Dr. Steven Kupferman and Dr. Benjamin Walline met while attending medical school at the UCLA School of Medicine in a program that included an additional four years of training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and General Surgery.

As young surgeons, Drs. Kupferman and Walline were highly recruited by the Southern California Permanente Medical Group. After two years as an associate, Dr. Kupferman left the medical group and founded The Los Angeles Center for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Century City, CA. Dr. Kupferman was able to grow the practice immediately due to his advanced surgical skills and vast scope of practice. In 2010, Dr. Kupferman recruited his long time friend and colleague Dr. Benjamin Walline. By 2010, Dr. Walline had already gained the reputation as one of the most skilled orthognathic surgeons in Los Angeles. Together, Drs. Dr. Steven Kupferman attended dental school at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts and medical school at the UCLA School of Medicine in Los Angeles, California in a combined program that included an internship in General Surgery and three additional years of training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

After completing his residency, Dr. Kupferman served as an associate in the Maxillofacial Surgery Department of the Southern California Medical Group (Kaiser) for two years.

Wow such a wonderful doctor! My mother had a one time procedure done here by Dr. Kupferman. He was very nice, he explained what he was going to do and he took his time answering all her questions. The whole procedure was quick and painless. Most doctors are in a rush and seldom have time to talk. Dr. Kupferman is a breath of fresh air. He was kind, friendly, easy to talk to and he made my mom (a senior) feel comfortable. My mom is still bragging about her experience here. The whole staff is Amazing. It’s so nice to meet a doctor that really cares for his patients. Absolutely the Best Oral Surgeon!

I just wanted to update my experience with Dr Kupferman. A month after my extraction, I had a TINY (honestly it was soooo small) little piece of my wisdom tooth begin to exfoliate out and began to break skin…(I initially started freaking out, totally thought I had done something wrong and caused an infection… also in the past, I have had some traumatic experience with tooth extractions… so excuse my paranoia) and when I described it to the staff at his office they explained to me what it was and that it was natural since my wisdom tooth had to be extracted in pieces. They fit me in after work and took that little sucker out and gave me an ice pack (because I am a big baby) and made sure I wasn’t feeling any pain. Dr. K made sure that I wasn’t feeling any other sharp pieces and let me know that I could stop by anytime I felt pain. They are the sweetest bunch and I have been blessed to have found wonderful doctors that are chipping away my dental fears.

What an incredible experience! I was very afraid for my surgery and Dr. Kupferman, the nurses, and the anesthesiologist alleviated my fears. My wisdom teeth extraction took only about 30 minutes for 3 teeth, and I was given the perfect amount of pain medication in my IV to last me the whole day. I didn’t feel groggy or anything. I’ve healed great and the staff, especially Ruth has been there to answer all of my follow up questions. Dr. Kupferman gave me a phone call a few hours after surgery to see how I was doing, and Dr. Walline in the office even gave me his cell phone number just incase I needed to come in on the weekend incase of emergency. They also encouraged me to come back in before leaving on vacation just to make sure I’m in good condition! What a great team.
I could not have asked for a better experience truthfully. The doctors provide full honesty and transparency, are quick and do their job precisely, down to a science. Oral surgery is not a walk in the park, but Dr. Kupferman and his team sure try to make it one!

When my daughter and I left Dr. Kupferman’s office, I said I wished he could be our doctor for everything! He has a thorough, kind and thoughtful bedside manner. Ruth and the rest of the staff are wonderful. We were taken for our appointment on time and there was very little waiting at any point. Surgery was not needed for my daughter, but the doctor set up everything she needed to treat her symptoms and he followed up with a call to our dentist. I would send anyone to Dr. Kupferman without reservation.

What a great office! The entire staff is professional, polite, and kind. Very attentive to patients needs and wants. Husband had a tooth pulled out as he will be needing an implant unfortunately, but this is the office to come and do all of this!
Thank you to Dr. Kupferman for the attention to detail and for the phone call over the weekend to check up to see how my husband was doing. Thank you to Ruth for her professionalism, her patience, kindness, and attention. Thank you to the other staff as well for their professionalism and kindness! What a great office!

I love th is Dr, he is so nice and gentle and really knows what he is doing. I had been to 3 dentists because I had dry socket after a bad extraction, from another dentist and he was the only one that was able to make it better for good. The other Dr’s just kept giving me temporary relief and my situation was more complex. Then I had to have implants I was really scared but he made it so easy. Love this Dr…

Extremely professional and to the point. Provides the quality of dental care we all want but can’t seem to find. Had a tooth extracted some where else and was in pain for about 2 weeks after the procedure. Showed Dr K my x ray from the previous doctor and saw that something was still there.
Removed the remaining «stuff» and now out of 99% of my pain 5 days later.

first we met his financial assistant, she talked for 15 minutes, then he comes and repeat whatever she said, he tired to charge us more then double the price that another doctor that we found later did. actually he was shocked about the price when we told him. then when we said it’s too much, that same financial assistant charged us $ 300 just for the consultation. Nobody mentioned that we will be charged that high amount when we got there, otherwise we would’ve left. this is after we told him we can’t afford such high prices. after few days the assistant calls again offering a «some» discount, how low can they go from those high prices??? we didn’t get anything in writing. try to get yourself a better more humble dr. before you see this one. BTW, there’s no parking /​public parking near by.

Going to an Oral Surgeon SUCKS… but Dr. Kupferman sucks the least! Dr. Kupferman is professional, knows his s#$@ and the office staff is amazing. I will never go to anyone else and I recommend him and his office 100%. THIS GUY IS REALLY REALLY GOOD.
My first appointment with him was an emergency and after office hours. He took me right away and solved a very painful problem. HE IS AWESOME.

Great experience overall. I went in since he was covered by my insurance and had surgery on my tongue. It was a quick and easy procedure. Kupferman was very helpful at easing my jitters and going over every step of the process. Would recommend for anyone who wants a smart and easy going doctor that also takes an interest in his patients.
Also it is worth mentioning that I went to another oral surgeon on sunset and doheny who wanted to charge me lots more $$ for the same procedure.

If I could give more than 5 stars I would! When I went to my general dentist Dr. Elaine S. Symonds, DDS she discovered that I needed to get a tooth extracted. She knew that I had a previous traumatic experience in the past with a wisdom tooth being extracted, so she referred me to Oral Surgeon, Dr. Steven B. Kupferman DMD, MD. He was amazing! He eased all of my worries and I was in and out within an hour. I no longer dread going to the dentist and I feel that has 100% to do with the wonderfully, anxiety free, experience that I had today. If you are looking for a general practitioner or an oral surgeon look no further. Both Dr. Elaine S. Symonds and Dr. Steven B. Kupferman are the best! You won’t be disappointed. I am the biggest dental chicken in the world and they made me feel no anxiety at all!

DR. Kupferman changed my life … Back in 2008 i had a car accident and i broke my jaw. Went to the E. R room and had surgery. throughout the time i noticed my bite had shifted to the right… I started searching for the best oral surgeon and thank god i found DR.Kupferman.He made me feel welcome right from the start. He treats his patients like family members and his staff made me feel at home. He explained to me step by step on what he was going to do in order to get my bite together. He recommended brackets before the surgery for a year.
I had my surgery done in January 2012 and i’m so happy i got it done at LACOMS. DR. kupfeman you’re the greatest :)

I just had dental surgery today with Dr. Kupferman.
Yes, I was scared as ever as I had to get a front tooth extracted. Luckily, i had enough bone in the area, so i was able to have the implant placed the same day.
I had a root canal done awhile ago by Dr. Rudner, the most gentle, kind and honest dentist u will ever meet, did I mention handsome, too:-). Well anyway, he recommended Dr. K., they are in the same bldg in Century City.
What a great referral and pleasant experience it was, whew:-)
Nevertheless, for a beautiful teeth fanatic and former dental assistant/​hygienist, it was a very emotional experience. I was really scared but Dr. K. Was very, very patient with me and took his time to answer all my many questions and even
showed me a 180 degree x-​ray, on a large flat screen tv-​like monitor exactly what he was going to do and what was involved. He is also a MD in oral surgery, so he was able to put me to sleep with IV sedation, so I did not feel or remember a thing. Yes, I would definitely recommend the sleeping part. I woke up and it was all over:-) Wow, what an amazing doctor and experience.
I would 100 percent recommend Dr. K for oral surgery, he makes it a dream instead of a nightmare:-)

Dental procedures are never fun and jaw surgery is a truly daunting prospect, however Dr. Kupferman and his colleague Dr. Walline are the team to go to if you are having any problems with your jaw.
Their office is welcoming, every member of their staff is friendly and helpful, parking is easy (although it’s a little pricey!) and the billing department explain the costs in simple terms and suggest a variety of ways to pay if it’s not all covered by your insurance.
The two doctors themselves are exceptionally easy to talk to and Dr. Kupferman was incredibly thorough when explaining the jaw surgery he was going to carry out in order to correct my son’s Class III occlusion, as well as the implants my son was going to need due to a childhood accident.
I tend to trust my gut instincts and so I knew the moment I met Dr. Kupferman that he was the Dr. to entrust my son’s mouth to. The surgery is complicated and long, but I never doubted for a second that it wouldn’t be a total success, and I found Dr. Kupferman and Dr. Walline to be both confident and reassuring, which is a great combination.
Both doctors worked on my son’s mouth, and after the surgery was completed both of them took the time to chat with me, explain how the surgery had gone, prepare me for how my son was going to look when I first saw him on the ward and reassure me that he wasn’t suffering too much!
The surgery was a fantastic success and we could see the great results even on the second day, in spite of the bruising and swelling. My son truly wasn’t in as much pain as I was expecting and the doctors and their staff were very conscientious and checked in by phone several times to make sure our son was doing well.
Our son is incredibly pleased to have the comfort of a typical jaw now and is very happy that he went through with the surgery. He also finds both Dr’s great to deal with as they really take the time to explain everything so well.
One of our other children has a very similar jaw problem to his brother, and when the time comes I know that I will once again put him in the capable hands of Dr. Kupferman.
