Studio Q Photography

My wife, throughout her whole pregnancy, hinted about wanting maternity pictures done. She saw all these amateur photos people post on Instagram, but I wanted to make it a very memorable experience for us. I was skimming through Unilocal and I came across this studio. We ended up booking an appointment with Jimmy at a location of his choice.
This guy Jimmy truly has a gift. I can’t praise him enough. He is very professional with his work and was very kind and patient with my pregnant wife, taking into account that she might have been tired, etc. He definitely has an artistic eye when it comes to angles and lighting. But all this is usually a given when working with a great photographer.
In old days, people would claim that a photo captures part of the subject’s soul… and this is what amazed me. A lot of the poses and backdrops he chose came out brilliant, but he also got these candid pictures that so perfectly captured our love. I don’t wanna get all lovey dovey, but looking at all these pictures (which frankly, took a while due to how busy we’ve been with our baby) really put our relationship in retrospect and I realized how much I love my wife. It was definitely so. ething much more deeper than just photos.
Everyone who’s seen our photos done by Jimmy agree. My family members joke that it takes a true artist to turn my hideous face into a work of art… lol…anyways…Jimmy, thank you for your time and I wish you the best in your artistic endeavors. Also would like you to capture more of my family’s special moments in the future.

They are there to literally there to enhance the experience and capture the greatest moments of your biggest day. There are no words to describe how awesome this whole team is! We hired them as our photographers and videographer for our wedding and we have absolutely NO regrets whatsoever! Yuno and Jimmy are so professional and really take the time to make sure all your special moments are captured.

My wedding took place on April 19^th and Jimmy is truly amazing and a pleasure to work with!!! He captured the most memorable moments from both our engagement photo shoot and wedding day. The level of quality by far the best… great sense of perception, editing, and overall timing!!!

My (now) wife wrote a review of Studio Q for our engagement photo session, because I told her I would write the review of their work for our wedding. I shouldn’t have made that deal… she got the easier task. Studio Q epitomized perfection (from my perspective) with regards to the engagement photo-​shoot (with lovely Jimmy) and that carried on into the wedding (with Yuno and his assistant).
So… where to begin.
To limit the length of this post, and maximize its utility, I’ll try to think of 5 worthwhile categories (of which one shall be worthwhileness) and write to those. Please note, I could write complete free-​form lauding Studio Q, but that would make this post twice as long and hence it would have less utility for you and Studio Q!
Communication — Studio Q is prompt, concise, and pays attention — whilst being friendly! In electronic communication, telephone communication, and face-​to-​face communication, Studio Q is always on-​point! I’ve never found Studio Q to be overbearing, negative, rushing, etc. You’ll never feel uncomfortable communicating with Studio Q and wondering if you’re wasting your money or your time. They will make you feel like you’re their only customer by being so prompt and remembering your request for your special day!
Professionalism — Just thinking about Jimmy and Yuno makes me smile. These men actually make you feel happier on your wedding day… how is it that I can actually increase in happiness on such a day, by a vendor… who knows! I just know that their professional, positive attitude is uplifting. They’ll move through your crowd just the way you ask (we asked them to be unobtrusive and just capture the moment), they’ll be calm, they’ll be there to capture the moment, they’ll be focused on you, and focused on the details. Knowing that my wedding was being captured by pros made me feel completely at ease, perhaps that’s why my happiness was increased. I genuinely like these guys, as people… and that’s pretty awesome for such limited interaction.
Deliverables — The deliverables from our package were two large blown up pictures at the wedding, a digital CD of compiled pictures (low res and high res), thank you cards (which we still haven’t finished sending out) and a stunning photo album. We paid for the upgraded album, and asked Yuno to use his judgment for which pages to make matte, metallic, or shiny. Well, I looked at the album about 15 minutes ago at my home… It is stunning. Stunning! I would pay 50% more for this and still feel completely happy. Not to mention, our wedding was under six months ago and we already have all the deliverables. This is including us (being slow to respond), the holidays, and the production time — along with them actually doing the work to develop the products. Once again, brilliant products. (Get the upgraded 14“x11″ album!)
Worthwhileness — Every cent that we spent was worth it. We decided to not get a videographer because I had this idea in my mind that the video would show the truth (which could be semi-​dull), but the pictures would support my mental image of a perfect, amazing, beautiful, overwhelming wedding experience. Well, this album that I just looked at does exactly that. Every single cent spent on Studio Q was worth it. Don’t worry about the price… yes, that sounds stupid… but I’ll say it again… Don’t worry about the price! You will not regret using Studio Q.
I wish I could communicate more eloquently to convince you to use Studio Q so that you can experience what I and others have.

Yuno did our wedding photo. I do not usually write review but I hope this review will help to find right photographer for your special day.
He is very professionals and responsible for every moment of our big day and as well as our engagement photo. His price is very resonable if you compare with others. Also his directing skill was amazing on our big day and all the pictures came out very well.
I know some hip korean brides want to look for high rated american photographers but hey. you need to have korean speaking director on your big day so he can communicate with your family and others and remember we are not here to have commercial or creative model photoshoot.

Yuno was our photographer for my wedding in July and our pictures came out amazing! I was a little bit nervous because I hired them based solely on the portfolio they have up on their website. I loved the look of the pictures and the style of editing they did.
Yuno replied to all my emails promptly and their prices are super reasonable. He didn’t even charge me a traveling fee even though he had to drive all the way from LA to Rancho Bernardo (north San Diego county).
I wish that he could have been a little early so that he could check out the site and find the best places to take photos. But he was on time and it’s understandable that he couldn’t come earlier to scope out the location since we are so far from LA! I also wish he would have provided a little more instruction on how to pose since my husband and I just knew how to stand straight and smile! But after talking to other friends, they said their photographers didn’t pose them much either. So I guess just depends on the photographer.
During the wedding and reception, I barely even noticed that he was there and afterwards, worried that maybe he didn’t capture as many important moments as I was hoping. However, after receiving my pictures back (took about 6−8weeks just like he’d promised), I was pleasantly surprised to see that he was everywhere and snapped a ton of pictures of everything!
He posted our pictures online for us to see and also sent us DVD copies. I asked for the unedited versions as well and he sent all of those over for us too!
I’m so happy with the quality of our pictures, they look like they could be featured in one of the wedding blogs!

Studio Q was the photography group that my friend chose for her wedding a couple of years ago in 2011. I was a bridesmaid at that time. Although I didn’t interact much with them as much as the bride and groom did, they gave me a good vibe. My friend highly recommended them, and their price is reasonable, so when it came to my own wedding this time around, I decided to go with Studio Q as well.
Recently Jimmy took our engagement pictures on 5÷27÷2013, and I have to say I finally understand why my friend recommended them. Studio Q has great communications as they reply promptly to emails. Yuno set up my engagement day itinerary, when/​where to meet, etc. He called me to make sure I got his email and was ok with the plan, when I actually didn’t reply to him. I would like to commend on Jimmy’s professionalism on our engagement picture day. He arrived early before we got there (we met at De Anza Park). Not only he came ready, he actually arrived way early that morning to check out different sites around, and made recommendations as to where we should go. (We didn’t give him a specific site, we simply just said we wanted Malibu and trees). We ended up going to Agoura Hills which was exactly the outdoor rustic setting that I anticipated and envisioned where I would take my engagement pictures. Jimmy was attentive the whole time, and even had water for us. He kept scouting for the perfect spots for our pictures to turn out good, even if that meant we (Jimmy included, of course) had to walk on slippery rocks, or kneel next to horse poop. We went to a few different sites, and we ended up at Point Dume Beach. Jimmy was not afraid to climb rocks just to get us to the perfect spot. I lost my sandals to the waves, and he unselfisly let me borrow his sandals while he climbed spiky rocks on barefoot! Towards the end, I was in fact getting tired, but Jimmy was still smiling, and very energetic. He was the one who kept encouraging and telling us, «we are almost done… just one more, one more. wait, one more here.» I feel that he truly cares and wants our pictures to turn out good, as much as we do, if not more.
He promised we would get our pictures in 3 weeks, and sure enough, I got a call from him exactly 3 weeks from our engagement picture day. I got my pictures today and am absolutely impressed. Jimmy not only has the artistic eyes and mind as proven by his work, he is professional and takes his work seriously. I can tell that he truly enjoys and cares about what he is doing, and not just getting the job done. We give Jimmy the biggest applaud, and I am so thankful that I have found Studio Q. We are looking forward to our wedding pictures. I know they will turn out just as great, if not more! =)

There are certain businesses where you love their services and professionalism so much, that you become friends with them outside of business. This is one of them.
I’ll break down the review into sections:
/​/​Professionalism
Yuno and company are just dead on with professionalism. In the Korean culture, I continued to call him «Hyung neem» which is a respectful way to call elders you trust that are not too much older than you. Even then, he treated me as a highly valued customer and felt that he would always extend out further, not because I am Korean, but because he treats everyone with respect. Every time we met up to discuss our engagement and wedding shots, he would never make us feel bad for asking so many questions. We asked a ton! Our assistant, Jimmy, was simply amazing as well. Always went out of his way, coordinated with Yuno constantly, and made sure we were even keeping up with time lines for the day of our wedding! Hands down, amazing.
/​/​Quality
We’re making several into large prints to hang on the wall because of how artistic his eyes were during our engagement. We just had our wedding but we are positive that the wedding images were even that much better! Even going to his website and looking at his work, each one tells a story. That’s when you know you have an artist and not just a photographer. AMAZING QUALITY, just look at his work and let them tell you about the companies skills. Assistant to the owner, Yuno, all of them are amazing.

Yes he is in Ktown, but don’t let that fool you. He goes OUT OF HIS WAY to ensure your pictures are perfect. Not only that, he has a lot of suggestions but listens very intently to your visions. Just ask and you shall receive. His quality of business and communications, should honestly be located in the heart of Beverly Hills, without the pretentious nature. Gold stars all across the board.
/​/​Overall
Not only did Jimmy and Yuno deliver during our wedding day, they mingled with our guests to take candid photos like we asked and it was not forced. They gracefully went through the crowd and never intruded on anyone’s space, and at times, we forgot that they were there. They are very humble and made our hard earned dollar seem as if it were a million bucks. From the quality that they provide, to the communication, and the friendship, my wife and I now have a photographer for life. Until we move of course, but they are so good, we will probably fly them down!!! These guys are family to us and they will treat you the same. I am positive on that.

I’d give them 10 stars if I could because they went above and beyond and exceeded our expectations.
My wife and I got married September 2012 and we just got the pictures from our wedding recently. We first heard of Studio Q from a friend of ours so we contacted them. I didn’t have a lot of money so budget was definitely tight but Yuno (owner) worked with us through our budget. He was busy that day so he assigned Jimmy, another photographer, to do the shots. Although we were a little reluctant at first, Jimmy is truly one of the best wedding photographers out there. Here are a few reasons why we liked them.
1. Service: Jimmy was always available for us, answered all our questions, and gladly took all the recommendations we requested. The day of the wedding, he was supposed to arrive at 1 but he arrived 30 minuets early to start setting up. That’s HUGE in my book and I really appreciate that. He also left a little late to capture a lot of moments during the reception.
2. Kindness: It’s not just about good service, but Jimmy and all of the Studio Q staff are genuinely kind. They’re happy to help and that makes all the difference in the world. I believe they sincerely feel a certain satisfaction by seeing their customers happy with their service.
3. Quality: Good service wouldn’t be much if it didn’t deliver the goods, right? As we anxiously waited for our wedding photos to arrive, that day finally came and we were blown away. All the shots Jimmy took were really amazing. I’m picky about photography because it’s my hobby and I learned a lot from the pictures that were taken. The lighting, positions, subjects, backgrounds, everything was great. Jimmy was fantastic at guiding people for a pose, making them laugh and always being at the right place at the right time. There’s a special gift needed for photography, and I’m happy to report that Jimmy certainly has that.
4. Effort: One thing that stood out to me and my guests is the amount of effort Jimmy put to take great shots. Essentially, Jimmy was all over the place capturing one of the most important days in my and the wife’s life. My friends were telling me that he was getting on the grass to capture the best shots while being aware of our videographer as to not get in the way. Speaking of our videographer, Jimmy also made sure he was communicating with him so that they were on the same page, captured the moments together and moved on.
5. Lastly, and this is important, trust. When you decide to do business with someone, they need to earn your trust. For me, it’s a hard thing to do because you’re guilty until proven innocent (in the business side at least). Like many others, I’ve dealt with countless vendors that are a pain to work with, got burned some way or another and ended up with the short end of the stick. Well, Studio Q earned my trust and very quickly. I can trust that they’ll take amazing shots, provide the best service in the industry, be prepared for everything I need, and do it all at a reasonable price.
So there you have it. I would consider you a fool if you pass up this great opportunity to work with a fantastic photography. I hope I have persuaded you and I know i’ll be doing the same with my friends who have weddings coming up.

We hired Studio Q for our engagement pictures and for our wedding. They did an amazing job and we were very happy with the end result. We looked high and low and wanted to find the right photographer for us. Yuno was great to work with and really customized a package to fit both our budget and our wants. Brian was our photographer and was a true professional every step of the way.
We received our pictures an incredible 2 weeks after the wedding! YMMV, but that is UNHEARD of! We literally couldn’t believe it. Even though the day was a blur, they were able to capture the emotion of the day that just flew by.

I am very familiar with StuidioQ because I was a groomsmen for two weddings that they shot at, and in attendance for another friends wedding they captured. I got to see their work and new that I would have to use them for my engagement and wedding photos. A few years pass, and that time is now.
Yuno and Jimmy took our engagement photos and we went to SJC Mission and Dana Point harbor. As with taking any type of a professional photo, you really dont know what to expect. We started on a bench and had no idea what to do while these two guys just started snapping away. They just gave us some directions and we did our best to follow them. Yuno is very charismatic and has a way of displaying his ability while making you feel really comfortable.
At the end of the day, I honestly didnt know what to expect from the photos. I just hoped for the best. A few weeks later, we got our photos and they are so much better than I had hoped. You get some photos that are expected any engagement album. But then there are some photos where Yuno captures the moment so perfectly and artistically. Very very impressed.
Unfortunately, Yuno was booked on our wedding day. We will be using Brian, another photographer there. I will have to repost after my experience and let everyone know how he did.

Let me just say that Yuno and his team rock!
We spent a lot of time searching for the perfect photographers for our wedding in Santa Barbara because my husband is in visual effect and he is extremely picky with image perfection and perfect lighting. He didn’t think any of the other photographers had the right skills to control the lighting, but we knew Yuno was the one for us when we saw his work. He came highly recommended by my cousin who got married last year and we wanted to hire him the minute we saw my cousin’s wedding photos/​albums. Everything was exactly what we wanted — natural, timeless, and just beautiful.
On our big day, he and his team arrived early to start shooting right away. They were professional, detail-​oriented, easy-​going, and most importantly, made us feel very comfortable in front of the cameras. Everything worked out so seamlessly that our wedding coordinators and guests couldn’t believe how fast group pictures were completed. It made the day completely drama and stress free, which was priceless.
They worked so hard that they lost track of time and stayed longer than the contracted time. I could go on and on about how great they are… Honestly, they are great. They are a wonderful team that goes above and beyond for their clients and strives to do the best work.

My wife and I cannot say enough good things about Yuno and the rest of the Studio Q crew for all they’ve done for us. A while back we were in LA for the weekend and randomly came across their studio. We decided to go inside to take a look, and ended up making the (easy) decision to hire Yuno to be our photographer for our wedding up in the Bay Area.
Yuno definitely has an eye for good photos. Throughout our engagement photo session he was constantly finding unique angles and backdrops, and also making sure the lighting conditions were perfect. He’s also a pretty funny guy, making it easy to laugh, smile, and feel comfortable around him, which makes for even better photos!
Even though we were up in the Bay Area, working with Yuno was never difficult. He would respond to every email quickly and even made it a point to call us whenever there was anything important to discuss. On the day of our wedding, he showed up at the ceremony site over an hour early to explore the area and make sure he knew how the lighting conditions would be inside and outside. And best of all, he was always completely focused throughout the ceremony, the post-​ceremony photo session, and the entire reception. He (and his assistant) kept on shooting even after he hit the number of hours we paid him for, and stayed with us until the entire night was over. We got the sense that Yuno cared just as much as we did about getting great wedding photos, and he busted his butt all day to make sure he got them for us.
It hasn’t been that long since our wedding, but we’ve already gotten a DVD with all of our images, our thank-​you cards, parent albums, enlargement photos, and our main professional album (we still can’t believe they throw all that into their packages for the price we paid). We are extremely satisfied with everything, and consider ourselves so lucky to have decided to drop by Studio Q that day. We would give them 10 stars if we could!

The best photo stuio ever! We were absolutely amazed by our engagement and wedding photos. An extremely-​talented photographer, Brian, put so much efforts into making each scenes as beautiful as movie posters. Like mentioned in other post, he definitely has an «eye» for color and composition.
I majored in Fine Arts so I would not be easily pleased by photos but I was speechless for a while after I saw the engagement photos.
Brian and Jinwook (#2 photographer) have a great sense of humor which made us so comfortable during the photo shoot and that was why we looked natural and beautiful in every single photos!
Also, Yuno and Brian are so easy and flexible to work with.
I am going to back to them for the family picture when I have my baby!

What I found most amazing about Studio Q:
CREATIVITY
Yuno has an ‘eye’ for beautifully composed shots: his eyes were constantly darting around looking for «the shot». His photo-​journalistic style and creative use of lighting were evident in our photos.
COMFORT
Yuno and Brian (photographer #2) both have a way to make you feel at ease. They know how to get the best out of you and shoot in such a way that you don’t feel self-​conscious.
TEAM
Jai runs the studio and is the person you will meet first. She’s great. She’ll explain your options and will work with you on your needs and budget.
