i got a 99 miata for $ 500 bucks, i gave the boys the car and told them i was going to track the car and maybe drive it on the street once in a while, so far i have purchased most of the parts myself and they have installed almost everything (at first they did not like the idea of allthe ebay parts and cheap no brand name parts) but after a set of $ 500 coil overs and $ 500 front and rear sway bars and strut brace both front and back and $ 280 wing the boys fine tuned all my cheap parts and the car is a blast to drive took it to big willow and had the best time, next i am looking for a budget turbo they know what they are doing and i trust nobody else with my miata, they might sound expensive but they are not, you get what you pay for, so far all my cheap parts have been holding up, i think it is becuase they set it up right. if you own a mazda and want to race it or track it they are the guys to take it to

I heard of Tripoint when my coworker took his supercharged miata to tripoint for a tuneup. I made the terrible decision to have them work on my 2015 wrx. When I first spoke to tripoint, the quoted me $ 120 for an alignment and ride height adjustment. I thought to be an epic deal. I come in for service and the quote swelled to $ 300. After explaining I was quoted differently, they immediately dropped to 180. Still a good deal for height adjustment and alignment. They set the ride hight and aligned my car. However, they were unable to produce a printout of the changes made to the alignment.
While driving home, I noticed the car pulling to the left. so I took it back the same week to be looked at again by tripoint. The front right wheel was camber’ed to 3 degrees while the front left wheel was only at 1 degree. There was a visual difference that tripoint claims to be normal. During the inspection, the rude tech told me to hold for a minute as he needed to help ANOTHER customer that came after me. He then proceeded to ignore me until I spoke with shop manager, Eddie. When we re-​engaged out conversation, I asked what can be done, and straight up told me «nothing». The tech proceeded to tell me they would not realign my car as I have already been given a huge discount.
I then took my car to another alignment shop the following week to fix the pulling. I come to find out, the camber was off, and the toe was so bad, I would have worn thu my brand new tires in a matter of months. On top of all this, tripoint didn’t bother to torque the lug nuts on the rear right tire. I was able to unscrew 2 lugs with my fingers.

I brought a newly purchased ’99 Miata to this shop to fix an oil leak and perform a major service (replacing timing belt and water pump) to get back on the factory maintenance cycle. Sean went above and beyond to get the car running reliably. I had a pre-​purchase inspection performed at a different shop before bringing it to Tri Point, but Sean caught additional issues which the other place missed. Pricing was very fair, I was updated on the progress via text, and my car was ready within two days. I will absolutely be coming back to Tri Point in the future.

I just want to write this positive review based on my dealings with Tri Point an the crew there. Last year I purchased a 85′ RX 7 I found on craigs under 90k miles in amazing condition an original owner. The car sat cause the man passed away his wife just left it in the garage with cover on. So I heard that the best shop for Rx7 is actually a few miles away my nephew told me. That day I called an spoke with Sean, great guy btw… yes an took my car there the next day! So I just want to point out that I know NOTHING about Mazda Rx 7 as the next person, an I never felt like that with these guys who were all just so stoked at my barn yard find! They immediately asked me what I wanted out of this car an what my plans were for it. I wanted all the bells an whistles an they stopped me right in my trax an said, «Lets get her running great b4 we do anything cosmetic ok?» I agreed an they did a complete diagnostic check fluid flush brake check an adjustment you name it an the price they gave me was better than 4 local shops I had called to check. Then when I was up up and away… so to speak they actually steered me away from aftermarket hi pefromance route. I did however get the Racing beat Exhaust an racing beat springs KYB shocks and Struts but the car needed those replacements anyhow but my whole point is these guys were more worried about my car an this vision they had for it. Which was more simple cost effective an better in the long run for my car and my pocket book!!! These men are artists’ its one year later an I’m Rollin –N– Controllin Man! I’ve been from San Francisco to Las Vegas an back to LA beautiful SFV where I dwell… Trust these men they are artists’ They have a vision and are talented enuff to make they’re vision reality using your Mazda as the canvas and tools asthey’re paint brushes!!! I’ll post pics I will only go to Tri Point from now on…

I’m giving them only 3 stars not based on the quality of their work, but because they no longer seem to be interested in workaday projects like ordinary repairs to ordinary cars. They do good work and can be relied upon to do things right and for a reasonable fee. But since Mark sold up, the boys are on their own and I think they could do with a manager, someone who can properly coordinate what’s going on, what jobs are being taken in and who will make sure that they maximize their time to get stuff done. Unfortunately I won’t be going back there because I rely on my car and I need to get it back quickly when I take it in to be repaired. Others who perhaps have an RX7 as their fun car might not particularly care if it takes a while for the job to be started. Bottom line — if you want something ‘interesting’ done to your car then take it to Tri Point. If you just need good old fashioned repairs, consider going elsewhere, such as Sport Imports on Laurel Canyon.

After a 10 year hiatus, I found myself in need of a Mazda rotary specialist to do some custom work. Tri-​Point has always had a reputation for being expensive, but consistent at providing quality work. Their old Solo II Nationals RX-​7 spoke volumes about the reliability of their builds. However, in recent years due to changes in the import scene, and the terrible economy, there had been complaints of shoddy workmanship. People who complain tend to do so loudly — but I had had good experiences with them 10 years ago, and brought my baby to them.
Any qualms I may have had were quickly assuaged when I saw their parking lot — no fewer than 9 FDs were waiting to get work done on them. I am pleased to report that the new ownership is dedicated to quality work, and at extremely reasonable prices.
Their only problem is that they’re too busy, and you have to get in line to get any «bigger projects» done. Regular service or troubleshooting work is quick and inexpensive. I’m very pleased that I can still rely on this shop’s rotary expertise.
