Our extensively experienced physicians and research scientists paired with our state-​of-​the-​art facilities and technology ensures that UCLA will remain at the forefront of knowledge in Head and Neck Surgery-​Otolaryngology. The UCLA Department of Head and Neck Surgery is widely acclaimed for having established the first Voice Center on the West Coast in 2005 and having played a central role in the development of novel treatments for voice disorders, such as surgery for spasmodic dysphonia, vocal cord paralysis, and airway stenosis.

UCLA Department of Head and Neck Surgery is committed to maintaining excellence in patient care, offering top-​caliber academic training, and advancing research in the field. For the 24th consecutive year, U.S. News and World Report has named Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center «Best in the West.» UCLA Ear, Nose, and Throat inpatient care was ranked 11th out of more than 690 hospitals nationwide.

Our department has achieved a success rate that exceeds 99% in performing approximately 1,300 microvascular reconstructive surgeries during the 15 years since this program was established. Our institutional success rate currently equals or exceeds that reported by all other medical centers in the world.
