Hidden gem. Beautiful poolside lounge. Perfect date spot. Loaded with architectural history and character.

Gorgeous décor (though I hear they are about to do a remodel :() and lovely staff. Good atmosphere and not too loud. Would’s been 5 stars but the drinks were ridiculously overpriced, 15 $ for meh quality champagne… Hope they don’t mess with the vibe too much in the remodel

I would give this place more stars if I could. I was there this Sunday for brunch to celebrate my 25^th bday and I was pleased with the food, drinks and the service they provided. Definitely will be my go to place for a girls day out. :)

Cute place but super dangerous to have drunkards next to a pool, music switched from 80s to hip hop to salsa to etc… ugh. and the seating is horrendously low and uneven. Only had fun cause of the friends I came with.

… Our waiter (no names here…) wasn’t the most attentive which was WEAK but the support staff was amazing. Bottomless, ahemmmm he took forev to refill us. Other buffet food, ehhh… Jus go to the omelette, taco and French toast station and save your time elsewhere… Only four stars because of Maria. If not ehhh 2 – 3

Love this place!!! My only thing is I hate to see the amazing servers wearing all black in this hot summer weather… its unkind. Please change their attire for summers to something cooler for them. so they aren’t dying.
That would make me happy. :-)

I enjoy Sunday brunch here a great deal. They have bottomless mimosas and bloodys, and generally have live music. Its a good place to chill with friends on a Sunday. The food is buffet style, so I know some do not prefer that. However, the food is good– freshly made french toast, omelet station, taco station, etc.

If I could give more then 5 stars I would. This is a Downtown GEM!!! The pool is gorgeous and the staff is awesome. Happy hour starts at 5, poolside is relaxing and the staff is great. Let’s starts with Sunday’s. They have a great brunch. 11:30 — 1:30. 35 bucks, all you can drink mimosas and bloody Mary’s, taco man, build your own eggs, cook to order French toast, salad bar. The works. Live music til 2. After 3, it turns into a pool party, DJ, dancing and swimming. I’ve been here during the week and it’s a bit quiet, but still great.
The service has NEVER disappointed me. I came here once with a party of 30, we all paid separately and Antoine (the server) never once made us feel like it was a hassle or let our drinks get low. Jose (manager) stopped by to say hello and definitely made us feel welcomed.
I work near by in the same industry and I’m definitely hard to please when it comes to service and every time I come Im always treated so well. This is a great locals spot and a great place to bring in visitors from out of town, definitely has a that ‘LA Feel” to it.

Eunice is the best! She was so attentive to our party of 4, never let our bottomless mimosas run dry. Ramses, the executive chef did a great job of attending to our culinary needs and was such a gracious host. Wonderful day spent at Veranda.

The $ 35 buffet/​unlimited mimosas/​Bloody Mary Sunday brunch is definitely a great deal in DTLA.
If you don’t make a reservation, you’ll most likely be seated inside (Moroccan-​themed, dark hall) and so the gorgeous poolside area isn’t your backdrop, which is a main reason to post up here on a sun-​filled Sunday. So, be sure to make one and request the poolside bar (for some shade) or the pool (if you can handle the UV Rays).
While the staff doesn’t take it upon themselves to keep your glasses full, there’s always someone around to request a refill. The brunch food isn’t spectacular, but there’s a waffle station, omelet station, fruit/​salad/​dessert bar and eggs, bacon, sausage and meat area. Coffee and juice is also self-​service. My favorite part is that they also have a taco cart (outside by the pool). Word on the street is sometimes there’s lobster tacos, but not during my visit.
Brunch ends around 3pm, and if it’s sparse outside you can move out there towards the end. The pool area becomes quite the scene at that point and since you’re already inside, you can join in on the fun (believe they charge a cover at 3pm for pool fun) if that’s your sort of thing. Bring your suit and jump in to cool off on an especially scorcher of a day!

Veranda Poolside Lounge is a decent spot to grab a cocktail with the outdoor patio if you are ever in the area. This is a nice option if looking for a place to hang out. The pool is on the smaller side to take a dip in, if you choose to all eyes will be on you. o. O
The bartenders make pretty good drinks with average prices! Come here to enjoy a laid back atmosphere, take a look at the food menu, get your sip on, and forget all your worries~

Amazing food and awesome service. $ 35 for brunch and bottomless mimosas and bloody Mary’s. They had pancakes, waffles, French toast, omelets, burritos, tacos, fruit, potatoes, and eggs. The ambiance was relaxing. They had live entertainment and the bar tender was very helpful.

Shoutout to our amazing and awesome servers Amber and Oliver! They were so friendly and attentive. Came here with a group of friends on a Saturday night. The service here was phenomenal. Shoutout to Chef Ramses for the amazing food and service. The food and drinks were delicious. I had the bacon burger with a Piña Monada. Absolutely in love with the Moroccan themed décor and vibe. This will definitely be our go-​to spot on a Saturday night. GOOD TIMES! Where is the 10 star button? 5 stars is not enough to describe how exceptional the service was!

As a homie that drops compliments only for very complimentary reasons, I must compliment the radicool service and foodstuffs provided by Amber at the veranda poolside lounge. There were waffles and eggs and mimosas and it made me feel happy as a muppet. Great jorb!!!

My biggest issue with my first (and probably only) experience with the Veranda Brunch is that I was given incorrect information over the phone and nothing was done to rectify it once there. I made reservations for 6, and I knew that a couple of the people in my party had very restrictive diets (vegetarians, non-​drinkers etc) so I called and asked if during brunch, there is the ability to order off a regular menu. I was very clear about why I was asking this. I was told that there was.
Guess what? After we are seated and we ask for the regular menu for the other 2 in our party, we are told there is NO ability to offer off menu, there is ONLY the brunch. The server double checked with restaurant manager and confirmed this. So, that REALLY soured the experience.
Aside from that, lobster tacos were phenomenal, food was all of a good quality. I am a serious champagne/​mimosa bruncher and the service (i.e. frequency with which you are served/​attended to) was not up to par at all. Add to the fact that for this now $ 35 brunch, you are just limited to unlimited mimosas (or weak Bloody Marys containing only traces of vodka) for a 2-​hour period only. And that’s fine but my glass should never be empty for more than 5 – 10 minutes at the most. This is the service I am accustomed to, and for this price, it should be the case here as well. But it wasn’t. Also, the mimosas were of inconsistent quality. Some had a fair share of champagne, others had too much juice. Not good!
Ambience of the poolside jungle theme with live band was really cool and full of hipsters and such as one would expect and it was lively and fine but the service — from the phone call bad info to the slow pour service made this less than recommendable. At least the lobster tacos were amazing and the food was all good except for the eggs near the lox, which had flies living on them.

Amber is the BEST! Be sure to ask for this cocktail waitress extraordinaire when you visit!

My experience with Sunday Brunch on the Veranda Poolside Lounge.
Part 1:
Me– Hi I’m a little late, reservation for three under my name, «*****» my friends are already here
Them — No prob, what’s your name again?
Me– *****
Them — Are you sure it’s not ***!***?
Me — Yup, my name is *****
Them — Oh! we gave your table away, sorry! It’ll be a few minutes… that ok?
Me — Nope, my friends are already here, sitting at the table you didn’t give away, ok if I go find them?
W.O.W.
Part 2:
Friend asked the manager, the sous chef, the waffle girl and our waitress if they carried non-​manufactured creamer for coffee (all they had out was International Delights) — each person responded with a completely blank stare, or with a «yes we have something let me get that for you» and then proceeded to never get anything and never tell us or followup. Here’s a tip, customer service #1062 — if there is a 7 – 11 within walking distance of your restaurant, please send busboy to go get real cream, it’s $ 2 and takes a few minutes…
Part 3:
Waitress had a very strange stare/​smirk on face the entire morning. She dropped the mimosas on our table twice, once getting it all over our paperwork on the table, second, getting it all over my leather purse, and then a third time I watched her drop it on the table next to us covering their open-​toed sandals with orange juice. (I say orange juice because their «bottomless mimosas» were pretty much void of any champagne.
Part 4:
The music… oh. my. god. the music. I think the D.J. was from Glendale and was super cheap. He was playing house music that questioned the integrity of the human species. The only way I could describe it in words is that if you took the CD — «House Hits of the 90s» and made it generic (like no-​name DJs who want to sound a certain way) then this is what it was. It was like what they play in Poland to sound «American.» There are hundreds of DJs in LA, good ones, and this was not one of them.
Part 5:
The ridiculous hipster inspired thrift shopping experience at the end of the pool. LOLZ is all I have to say about that.
All in all, the food was mediocre, the music terrible, no alcohol in the drinks, the service terrible (we were convinced they were all either REALLY STONED or on the same pill) and the crowd was bridge and tunnel wanna-​bees.
I get what they think they are going for (trying to look ACE hotel) but lemme give it to you straight, IT DOESN’T WORK. Can’t fake it to make it here folks, skip it, and save your sanity.

Stayed at Figueroa hotel this weekend so spent time at the Veranda pool area. Chill vibe, not a terrible downtown crowd. Amber was our cocktail waitress and she was very fun and attentive. Will definitely return and will always seek out Amber. Also, they were having a brunch event poolside and all the food looked delicious!

This place is just great. It has the classic feel of what Los Angeles was in the 20s and 30s. If anything feels like quintessential LA it’s this place.
I’ve been here a few times before and the drinks are always great and the atmosphere relaxed. I would love to stay here. Will def. be back.

Beautiful atmosphere and strong drinks! Staff extremely attentive and friendly, and has a great selection on drinks as well as special cocktails. With our hotel package we got 2 free drink tickets and couldn’t wait to redeem them.
