Specialties

Here at E11even Wines, we specialize in Estate Grown wines, naturally crafted primarily from the classic Bordeaux varieties. We strive for authenticity and varietal typicity. We are stewards of the land and planet Earth. Our wines are rich and full-bodied, with an emphasis on making them serious and extremely fun to drink. Our wines are from the mind and talents of Andrew Murray, who has been growing grapes and making wine in Los Olivos for over 25 years. In addition to our Estate Grown Wines, we carry a full line of bar accessories and bitters and shrubs.

Sauvignon Blanc — Stainless Steel Fermented and Aged to be crisp and refreshing

Pinot Noir — From our Santa Maria Vineyard, focus on Burgundian clones in a richer, coastal style

Cabernet Franc — Previously an «also-ran» variety, but it really shines here, along the coast.

Cabernet Sauvignon — This does not taste like the coastal Cabernet of days of yore… this is impossibly dark and rich.

Petit Verdot — This may be a newer variety for you, but you will fall in love with how rich and delicious this wine is.

History

Established in 1990.

I am so proud to announce the the re-launch of E11even Wines. This is a very personal project for me. I feel like these wines have been works-in-progress for a decade or more, only finally jumping from my imagination and into the bottle just this year. The wines are all Estate Grown and crafted with the utmost care and precision. They truly represent the best that we can do here, on the Curtis Estate in the heart of Los Olivos and at the Gravel Pit Estate in Santa Maria. No expense was spared in the farming or the crafting of these stunning wines. In the vineyard, we cherry-picked the best blocks, restricted yields, and used every trick up our sleeves with the singular goal of harvesting the very best fruit that we can grow. In the winery, we took our winemaking efforts to the next level… we took it to 11. These wines exemplify the Natural, Locavore and Farm-To-Bottle movements.

Meet the Business Owner

Andrew M.

Business Owner

Introduced to Rhôné Valley varieties during lengthy family travels in France, Andrew Murray traded his UC Berkeley paleontology studies for UC Davis’ enology and viticulture program. He pursued his new mistress, Syrah, with an extended internship in Australia. His tryst evolved into a full-fledged love affair with his favorite variety. After selling his vineyard in 2005, Andrew reignited his passion by selecting vineyards throughout the Central Coast to tease out compelling flavors from his flirty temptress. Not yet 40, Andrew has spent over half his life working amongst vines and presses in his unflagging quest to create unique blends and divine distinct nuances from Rhôné varietals.

In the words of Robert Parker, Jr., «…Andrew Murray’s offerings are a breath of fresh air given their exceptionally high quality and realistic prices.»
