Established in 2002.
Greetings,
In 1886 felix Mattei built Mattei’s Tavern as a stagecoach stop and railway stop. Mattei’s Tavern has been «The Gathering Place» for locals and travelers for well over a century. As Brothers and Chefs we took possession of Mattei’s Tavern in the spring of 2002. Along with our decicated staff, we restored this beloved landmark and opened for business in June of 2002.

Business Owner
Brothers and Chefs, Jeff and Matt Nichols trace their love of good food and cooking to their Ames, Iowa roots. they have a combined restaurant experience of over 45 years. Jeff received his training in France and worked for some of the most respected restaurants in the United States. Matt worked at Spago restaurant for the world famous Wolfgang Puck. Their combined effort has earned them a strong following along with many accolades citing Brothers’ as
” Consistently One of the Top Restaurants in the Region”.
