Joe’s Crab Shack

The worst customer service ever we were waiting for 25 minutes and our table was given to another person. Apart from that the waitress did not have the decency to give a polite answer and simply did not care about costumer complaints.

Good Olé’ Joe’s Crab Shack is just that, good. It’s a wink and a nod to the seafood place near the oceans in Florida. The one in Nashville does not give the same vibe. Now don’t expect perfect service, it won’t happen. It’s run by a bunch of fun living, easy going college age students that will get something wrong. That has been the case every single time I have been here. Don’t get upset, just let them know where they screwed up. They will fix it and you will still have a good time. Take in the view. Chill out, tie on your Bib and just eat.

Can’t give a zero. Was in town with the family and they wanted to eat by the river. I ordered a standard menu item and was told…“we don’t have a bunch of the stuff that goes with that meal”? When I go to Outback they have steaks?
No wonder they continue to close locations! Last trip for us.

Really low quality seafood. The crab and lobster were already cooked and reheated for service. No flavor whatsoever. Our server gave basic service, she took out order and occasionally gave us drink refills, but never said anything. I would say avoid this place.

Good franchise seafood. Enjoyed the boiling pots. Appetizers not special. I go to this place every two years when I’m in Louisville. Doesn’t disappoint but not spectacular. Will go back in two years. Joe’s is a fun place.

We came here for the all you can eat crab being offered as part of the thunder over Louisville festival. Good food, amazing view.

Ok, took my child and 3 friends there for her birthday. Three of them ordered queen crab legs and each was highly satisfied with her dinner. One friend is vegetarian and that sucked. Server offered fettuccine Alfredo made with broccoli (friend hates broccoli). I ordered a combo of fish, stuffed shrimp and a crab cake. I was so looking forward to the crab cake. It was the worst I’ve ever tasted! Soggy, doughy and no flavor, just like the one piece of fish I got, so generous of them. Fish could have been talapia or chicken, no flavor so I couldn’t tell. Stuffed shrimp? Ha, 3 small shrimp that I traded with a friend for 2 hush puppies. Hush puppies were very salty and bland. Gave 1 star for me and another for the queen crab.
Oh…we had reservations, I called a few days prior. Parties were walking in and being seated so I asked twice what was going on and was told they all had reservations. I said well so do I! Took 30 minutes to get a table. They sent a text message telling me my table was ready lol. Really??? Since I couldn’t hear myself think, why would I be staring at my phone!

Not impressed at all over priced food that was shipped in, if you want real good seafood head to the ocean not the Ohio River

I went here twice (hoping the second time it would be better) and nope disappointed again. The food is frozen, nothing is fresh. The prices are ridiculous for this establishment. The service was excellent but I won’t be coming back anytime in the near future.

Very dirty restaurant. Saw mouse droppings on floor. Waitress was fake as hell. Food was deplorable. Bathrooms were extremely dirty. This place is a joke!

Great view great food and the best margaritas I have come across to Louisville. If you give this place a try definitely get a margarita.

Wow, what can I saw? Well, I guess first thing that comes to mind is I would not eat here again if they were paying me to. Not good at all. I love seafood. I especially love crab cakes. I’d never been here before or any Joe’s Crab Shack for that matter so I went in with an open mind and thought nothing of.
We first ordered the appetizers. We got the sampler platter and I must saw the appetizer was great. I thought to myself, this is going to be good. Wrong!
Anyway, I ordered crab cakes, husband order the fish and chips, mother in law ordered the red fish, son ordered the steak. No one liked their meal.
My crab cakes-​Absolutely zero flavor at all. I mean, none. I tried to salt and pepper them and drench them in the sauce they come with in hopes of reviving the flavor a little. It was a no go.
Husbands fish and chips-​He said it was disgusting. This says a lot too because my husband seriously never complains about anything. I looked at it and the fish was so greasy.
Sons steak-​My son absolutely loves steaks. Would eat it all day every day if we would let him. We saw on the menu that it was marinaded in some sort of steak sauce. I didn’t think anything of it, figured it would still be ok. When he got it and took his first bite, he spat it right back out. So, I tried a piece thinking he was being over dramatic. Nope, it was gross. I am not sure what they marinaded that steak in, but whatever it was, they need to throw out and come up with something that tastes decent. It was horrible!
Mother in laws red fish-​Honestly not sure what all of her complaints were about her dish, but I do remember her commenting on how bland it was and how it tastes like nothing. Pretty much right on target with the crab cakes.
I would not go back here. For the price of the meals and the underwhelming flavors, there are so many better options than this. No thanks!

Atmosphere was nice and staff courteous. My water did run out and waited a bit for refill. I had cedar plank salmon and it was dry so we sent home with father in law for his wife’s cat.
You will pay to park at the restaurant. After a long day at work this was my biggest peeve. You are already paying (in my opinion) too much for the food and on top of that you have to pay to PARK. $ 3 is all so it won’t break you, but it’s really PETTY in my opinion.

Saturday night 9pm! My son and I waited 1 ½ hours to get seated but it was damn worth it!

We ate more crab than that featured on ‘Deadliest Catch’

Steam Pots were very good I believe for crab leg fans much better than the Red Lobster anyday. The Louisville location is awesome right on the Ohio River pretty cool. Lots of fun best tip call ahead don’t just show up very busy place.

I love this place. The food, customer service and my waitress Emily was AWESOME. The manager Crystal stop by and even the head Manager Gregory helped brought the food to the table. I tell this is the best service I have ever had. Thanks Emily and j will be right back

I love everything Joes Crab shack, you hear me? I love it. But my experience here was terrible. So we walked out. We waited the hour to get inside. They awkwardly put 2 of us on an 8 top which was weird. Then the guests in the table behind us were drunk and screaming over and over and we could barely hear our waiter. But before we got our waiter he passed by us three times before even just simply saying I’ll be with you in a second. So we proceed to ask for drinks. I got water no lemon because I HATE flavored water… he brought it back with extra lemon. I hate it when they don’t hear me because I don’t like sending stuff back, I hate it! But this is one thing I can’t live with, I have to have something to drink. So he brings my water back and it tasted just like lemon water… I felt disrespected all kind of ways, what are we proving a point? I don’t like lemon in my water because I don’t like how it tastes that’s why I don’t want it, and of you take it out, it will still taste like lemon… duh!!! I was about to spend like $ 60 on two people, I cant, I just can’t… so we left…

It’s decent. We go here to break up the norm. Kids eat free for the month of September so we made more than one trip down here this month.

Went for lunch with my fiancée and we wanted to sit on the patio and look at the river and the Pinta and Nina reproduction boats moored right outside. We waited 20 minutes for our drink order and nothing. We left. A server came to the table next to ours and saw us there but didn’t ask if we had our drinks in or anything.
So disappointed because I was *really* in the mood for seafood. This place needs a big time staffing change.

We were a little worried after reading reviews. But our waiter Billy was fantastic! We had a great time & everything was perfect.
We had a group of 4, one with a birthday (which Billy did a great job of acknowledging it) & we were there on a Sunday around 1:00 seated out on the deck. We all ordered drinks & each had a different steampot. All drinks were delicious & the food was hot, fresh, fast & our order was correct. The cobbler & the key lime pie were also amazing… and Huge portions!
I hope this review of mine will encourage people to try it.
