I was SO excited to try Second Phriday’s food truck fest for the first time. We attended in July and met there with a couple of friends on a Friday night. I was really ready for some pork belly tacos and waited while Lexie Lou’s prepared their pork belly. After about a half hour of waiting for them to let the meat rest, we got our food and it was AMAZING. Do not get pork belly tacos if you hate fat; stick to healthier options. But, you don’t go to a food truck fest to eat healthy, do you? Didn’t think so. I also got a funnel cake, which obviously suggests I definitely didn’t go to eat«well.» I went to gorge myself on the food and the beer. In terms of the brew, I was hoping for a lot of options in terms of craft beer, but we were stuck with Killian’s or Bud Light. Luckily, you can get more of what you want inside Phoenix Hill. We stuck with the Killian’s, which didn’t disappoint. Sometimes you have to let your beer snob go and just enjoy the cheap stuff. The music was great; there’s nothing better than sitting outside with good food, listening to good local music, while enjoying time with friends. The only thing that makes me not rave about the fest was that there were not that many people. I was expecting this thing to be booming, but it petered out pretty early; we were the last people there. Corn hole was set up, but nobody really seemed to be interested in playing. Overall, just not a very happening event, which is disappointing. If you love food, please come support your local Louisville food trucks and come on out!

What’s not to love about a congregation oph phood trucks on a Phriday night? Bring your phriends and phamily along phor a phantastic meal phrom some oph the best phood trucks in the city! I had been trying to attend the Phoenix Hill Second Phriday Phood Truck Phest phor several months now, but — given that it is only once a month — it took me a while to make it there. Phinally I got to go! Phree admission, about seven phood trucks, and live music streaming phrom the open doors of Phoenix Hill Tavern to the many tables outside set the scene. I visited«Get it on a Bun at Booty’s», a place I have previously reviewed. Two words: Booty Burger. Choose the cheese you want(might I recommend smoked Gouda?) and enjoy! Sadly, the dessert truck was sold out oph some of the things I was hoping to buy to top ophph my tummy. Word to the wise: make sure to arrive at Phoenix Hill bephore 8PM(probably closer to the start time oph 5 is best).
