The sales guy was nice enough, but I am so sick of receiving the hard sell treatment when I clearly inform them(multiple times) up front that I am just doing due diligence and gathering information. I don’t want to spend 3 hours seeing multiple estimates — just give me your number. I LIKE the product — especially the battery options — and when I am ready to spend that much money I’ll let you know… HATE the sales approach. Notice their response accuses me of not wanting ALL the information, but ignores the fact that it was their APPROACH I did not appreciate. Another example of how they will not listen to you — the customer.

I have been interested in solar for years, but I was unsure how to begin. After meeting your representatives at the State Fair, I knew we were ready to invest in a renewable energy source. Seeing the rise in energy cost through natural gas and electricity, we were hoping to find a reliable alternative. We are now believes in solar energy provided by Renewable Energy Corporation. We have generated over 381,000 watts of energy equal to 126,917AA batteries. After seeing the significant reduction in our energy bill for the past 3 months, I want to add more solar panels to our house. I can only imagine how low the bill will be when solar energy is at its highest energy output in the Summer. We know everyone should invest in their future and one major way is adding solar energy to a house. We know the biggest selling point to our house in 30 years will be our solar array. Since being introduced to Renewable energy I have bought two personal solar items for charging phones and small tablets. We will also be buying a fireplace insert to reduce our dependency on natural gas for heating our home. I have told many stories to my co-workers and several of them are looking to get their own solar array, solar attic fan, or solar water heaters from Renewable Energy Corporation soon. I religiously watched the amount of solar energy being produced every day. I have become very aware of the energy we use and the energy we save every day. The process was very easy and exciting. The solar technician installed our solar array in one day. I was shocked. It seemed quick and easy for him. We will continue to install solar panels every year until we see a zero on our bill. I want to thank Jennifer for explaining the paper work for the Maryland Grant, BGE, iSEC, and the federal tax credit. I would have stumbled doing the paper work without her guidance. The Renewable Energy Corporation does it all for you. I am sure they are the best company in the solar business because they have the best installers and the best customer service. When we retire in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, we will need the solar kings and queens of the business to install our final solar array on our new beach home. Out of all the repairs and installation we have had at our house, this was the most exciting and seamless of them all. Talking to the President of the company really put Renewable Energy Corporation over the top. We have never met the President of any other company ever. I guess the other corporations can’t make the time like he did. After talking to him I felt a sense of peace about our decision. Joining Renewable Energy Corporation through the generation of solar electricity, felt like joining a family. We are completely satisfied with the beginning, middle, and end of the process and look forward to many more interactions and installation in the future. If you’re interested in investing in solar, there are much better options in the DMV area. We had a salesperson come to our home from Renewable Energy Corporation, and use aggressive sales tactics and photographs that were not accurate to the actual install. After signing up for solar panels and the water system in November of 2013, we have waited over a year for the company to obtain proper permitting and licensing for the install. Come to find out, they had actually allowed their license in VA to expire, so we are unsure what we were waiting for during the one year period. The installers began the install and without notifying us, put a large hole to the outside of our home(through the brick) and ran a line directly up the front of our house. This was not communicated to us and we were made to think that all line installations were put internally through the roof in order to minimize displeasing aesthetics. After seeing the initial install, we called to see why this had been done and were provided with shotty customer service, and their program manager stating that it was impossible to install the line inside the home(this was not true, we verified that it was actually a less invasive procedure to do it internally). We continued to go back and forth with the company and they were extremely non-responsive and unaccommodating during the entire process. The program manager was unaware of any technical operations of her installers or the process of installing their solar system. We paid $ 28k+ for the system and waited over a year for the system to be sloppily installed. On average, companies charge $ 12k for similar systems in this area so I would advise that you do your research prior to signing a contract! We still have not had the system completely installed at this point, so I cannot provide any review for their customer service after they’ve received their payment(the odds aren’t in their favor).

SCAM! Run away! Dont waste your time and don’t get conned. A salesman came to our house after we expressed an interest in solar from our energy provider. From the very beginning we were mislead. We thought a technician from the energy company was coming over to see if solar was even possible on our house. In reality it was a salesman not even related to the energy company who insisted that he wasn’t a salesman. We should have kicked him out then, but we thought we’d learn a little about solar from him. We told him from the beginning we weren’t interested in buying because we have other home improvements to take care of first. He told us it would take an hr to explain things. 3LONG, hours later he is still here really hard selling it. He just wouldn’t leave. He was pushing this terrible ploy saying«We’ll use your home as a model home and give you a 40% discount, but you have to sign up right now before I leave.» Their 40% off price was $ 14000 which after a little research is way more than double the price. They stress that you have to buy now, which in reality is because they don’t want people going online to research the real price of solar panels, the bad reviews of their company, and the scam they are running. We told him we didn’t want to buy in the beginning and over and over again, but yet he still wouldn’t leave after 7 more tries and price reductions. I’m really sorry to anyone who gets taken by these guys. They are definitely pushy and i can see a lot of older people getting convinced. Even their rating on the better business bureau is an A which is super unreliable. Don’t let them in your house!
