America’s Best Contacts & Eyeglasses

I’ve been coming here for 11 years now– and the service is improving– it was really bad about 2 years ago; but I definitely see improvement.
I’ve read the bad reviews and they do not «scam» anyone. They have the most cost-​effective products in the industry in the USA.
. 2 years ago after my bad experience here– I went to LensCrafters right down the street and they wanted $ 725.00 for what ABC had for $ 225.
Yes– they are busy– because overall they do good work and help people.
Get off their case and practice patience a bit and you will get a good deal.

My experience here was great, all the staff was super nice and had great customer service skills. The doctor was great she was very nice explained everything very well and answered all of my questions. They have lots of glasses to pick from. The only downside was how long the wait was. But other than that it was great and I plan on returning for future eye appointments!

Big Shout Out for America’s Best Contacts in Lynnwood. They live up to their name. Great service! Wish all the restaurants in town will work as hard to please their customers and deliver a good product.
I went for the $ 99 eye check including contact lenses check (normally $ 79). For the extra $ 20, you get the next 3 years of free eye check (what a deal!) and a discount on frames, lenses, etc. What’s not to like?
Got my two new pairs of glasses, but the contact trials were off as I suspected, so the optometrist corrected it and now my eyes are happier.
I will say 4.5 stars because their filing system is not the best… it took at least 3 people to help each other find my glasses and chart, so that means they are BUSY and could use a full time receptionist. Other than that… 5 stars in service, value, and product.
I should get a kickback for recommending them, but I got great service and value, so they deserve the recommendation. Their staff (Beza, Dawn, and Marianne) are awesome.

I know last time I vowed to never do business with America’s best ever again, but my 18 year old daughter went to them on her own. BIG MISTAKE.
She ran out of contacts and called them to ask if her prescription was still valid or did she need an exam. They told her they would look it up and call her in 45 mins…45mins…really?! Ok, whatever, so they call her and tell her to come on down, her prescription is good. The kid walks 30mins in the pouring rain at the end of her work day. Just as she is about to get the contacts in hand, one of the counter girls says «Oh, you can’t give those to her, her prescription is expired!» My daughter, the drowned rat, asks them why she was told it was good on the phone, and of course they have no idea… because they never do. She makes an appointment for the next day.
Appointment day… she gets her exam and we are told to wait in the lobby to get called up to the front desk for the contacts. We wait, and wait, and wait, directly in front of the front desk, for 30 mins. The two girls behind the counter are very busy chit chatting about the upcoming holiday party, but no one calls us up. Finally when I notice them trying on glasses like «heeey girl, how do I look?» I jump up and ask what the hell is going on. Oh, oops they put her file in the glasses pile instead of the contacts pile. And because the glasses girl is busy gossiping about her boyfriend with her current customer, that line is not moving.
We finally get the contacts in hand… oh but the incompetence doesn’t end there… although this one was in our favor (thanks, dark haired counter lady working on ¹²⁄₁₁) she pushed the wrong button and charged us for a $ 00.00 follow up exam instead of the $ 69.00 exam we were there for. We ran out of there, and this time we will really never return.

Walked in with a pair of glasses that needed a quick repair for an out of town visitor. Glasses weren’t even purchased from Americas Best, but before I could ask they said «No charge, because that’s what we do!»
Very friendly staff and in and out in under 5 minutes!

The staff here are amazing! I called after getting off work at 530 in Marysville to see if I could order contacts. Well once I finally arrived to the actual store, I found out my prescription was just for glasses. The girls got me in to see the doctor even though they usually leave at 6. I got new contacts and they really went above and beyond to fulfill my needs as a customer! Keep up the great work ladies! Keeps me coming back!

I was on my annual visit to Lynnwood area (home) at the end of September and had lost my old glasses at the airport. I don’t have vision insurance and my friend said she had heard this add on the radio. I got onto Unilocal to see the reviews, which were not great but decided to make an appointment online and try them out — figuring the worse would be I just walk out. I got there on time and had breakfast in the car, I checked in and they said it would be about 10 – 15 minutes. I ate my breakfast and went in and they called my name within 3 minutes. I had my eye exam… and then chose my frames. I wanted a pair of standard glasses and a pair of sunglasses, I paid extra for the sunglass and very well worth the money. In all with the exam, extra eye test I had them do, standard glasses, sun glasses, two cases, sales tax and they mailed me the set to Fargo ND, $ 158.00. I have NO complaints. The staff was great, the eye doctor was very personable… My bestie and I were very surprised with the negative reviews. We both will have no issues recommending them and going back again in the future.

The service at Lynnwood’s America’s Best was excellent. We scheduled our appointments online and we’re seen on time when we arrived. Everyone was friendly and helpful. We had a bit of a wait once we had picked out our frames, but the employee behind the ordering desk was helping others ahead of us, not ignoring us. Yes, our 2 pairs of $ 69.95 glasses cost more than $ 69.95 — however, I have a strong distance prescription and need ultra thin plastic lenses plus I have the need for trifocals, so that means I want progressive lenses because I don’t want lines. And I wanted photo-​tint lenses that turn dark outside and anti-​reflective coating. Hardly a basic set of eyewear and I paid $ 575.00 for my last single pair at JC Penney but got 2 pair at America’s Best for $ 525.00. And the service was excellent. When we picked up our glasses I decided that I wanted to change my other pair to a different type of lense and they smiled and reordered them for me, charging me only what the difference between the two types of lenses was. We lover our new glassez, my husband is thrilled with his new glasses and sunglasses as well. America’s Best has made a pair on lifelong customers.

$ 69/​2pair with free exam is a scam. My exam, and single pair of glasses cost me $ 235. The glasses were made wrong, do not fit and are very poor quality. The optician tried to make it My fault that the RX was not working and poor fit service. I will be returning these for a refund. Worst experience of my life.

I had an excellent experience. I was in and out in about an hour. I had to wait for the optometrist after my exam, but that was the perfect time to try on and pick out three pairs of frames. The «upsell» some people complain about is the same package options offered at every eye clinic, and theirs includes one year of coverage on the glasses, and is less expensive. I ordered three pairs, including polarized sunglasses for less than I paid for my single pair of glasses.
Everyone was super friendly and the exam was as thorough as any other I have had.
I’ll be going back next year for my exam and glasses!

Terrible customer service. I’ve been in here multiple times and have always been disappointed. The two pairs for $ 69.95 is a complete scam, I have yet to find a pair that is of that amount and the associates always try to upsell you on features you don’t really need like UV protection and insurance without even asking you. I have also purchased contacts through them and they sold me on the generic soft med brand, which are horribly inconsistent from contact to contact.
The associates also lack basic communication skills, and when they don’t understand what you are saying, they pull in their manager, whom we had to wait 30 mins for because she was stuck in traffic. What kind of a business doesn’t have at least one manager present at all times?

I have yet to see anything close to $ 69.95 for one pair, let alone two. They do a hard sell of other options and don’t like the word «no». I walked out of there with one pair costing me $ 329 and at that, I wore them on my trip home and halfway home, turned around and took them back. They were not the right prescription. Had to be retested and the exam came back with a different prescription. I never liked them and am now waiting for them to fax the prescription to Costco and after 3 calls and a half hour wait, still no fax. This place is a scam and I recommend you run as fast as you can AWAY from «America’s Worst». This is theLynnwood Washington store.

Set an appointment online because the location was close and convenient. I called in to check my benefits, and was a bit put off by Britney’s call handling skills. I asked her to check what my insurance would cover, and she put me on hold for 5 minutes. Another girl picks up and has no idea why I’m holding, and I told her Britney was suppose to look up something. This girl didn’t even apologize or offer to help, just put me immediately back on hold. Britney came back and asked «Oh you wanted to check your benefits right?» then she got my info and checked my VSP. I was already thinking about cancelling my appointment, and them being out of network put the nail in the coffin. Won’t be going to this place.

Edit: +1 star because after I posted that review, a representative contacted me, quite concerned, and assured me this would not happen again. They overnighted my glasses and sent with them a handwritten apology, as well as a business card for 50% off my next purchase, with free exam.
They also sent an email following up to confirm I’d received everything okay and that the new prescription was working.
So, extra star towards customer service is deserved.

Everyone was very nice. wad ask to be seated and wait was short. Ask a question to a employee named Denise there and was promptly ignored. She looked at me but ignored me. Was very rude won’t come back soon.

Very poor service. Where do I start.
I went in Dec 3^rd for a contacts exam as it has been two years. The doctor was on time and very nice. That is where it stops. Three weeks later, no call, no contacts. I call and they say they are in. I go to pick them up and only one half is in. Left eye only. They have no clue and say they will call me. Two more weeks and I call. They are on back order until possibly Feb 2015. I have to return to the store to get my money back and get my script so I can go elsewhere. Wrong, they wrote down the wrong script. Britney Anne was very nice and assured me when 1−800-Contacts calls the correct script will be handed over. Before this a year ago I got glasses here, the product is fine, the service needs work. Your employees do not need to be gossiping about others in front of customers. Save it for the water cooler.

Even with insurance nowadays paying for eyewear, I still go to America’s Best. I came in with no appointment, and 5 minutes later, I was in the back room getting my eyes examined. Plenty of clearly-​marked 2/​$ 69 frames to choose from.
Busy place! But if you instead need to be treated like royalty, there are many optic stores that are happy to sell you several hundred dollar frames for that privilege.

Short and sweet:
DR.NHIN NGUYEN is AWESOME. It all breaks down from there. CHRISTINE at the counter seems to thrive on confrontation, defying the American customer service paradigm at any opportunity. Scheduled appointments mean nothing to these people. Again, the Doctor is awesome. One gets what they pay for.

This is ridiculous. I made appt for 4pm, arrived 345p, it is now 446p still waiting to see doctor. Don’t bother — you will be wasting your time. Making an appointment means nothing.
I suppose the confirmation email does say to allow 90 minutes for your appt, but I was assuming it would be for the exam, not for waiting. My time with the doctor was probably no more than 10 minutes. Seriously? Dr. Nguyen is quick, efficient and friendly enough. Not too much small talk, which I like, but the wait was ri-​dic-​u-​lous. I guess I should have been reading some Unilocal reviews beforehand? Alas, I did not, and I am writing this now.
I went for my follow-​up appt, this time scheduling at 9:30am, and was seen right on time. I think that there is a flaw in the online time scheduling though — so if you schedule at any certain time, it doesn’t necessarily mean that someone else (or 3 or 10 others) didn’t schedule for the same time slot. So there is that. The people here are nice, the prices are good, and as long as you schedule at a non-​busy time, you probably won’t wait an hour.
