Texas Doghouse

Unfortunately our dog did not do well at this location. And we found the staff was not real welcoming or friendly. Odd for folks that work with animals.

We have been taking Savannah here since they opened their doors. The owners are true dog lovers and I would not take her anywhere else. We have used the daycare and the boarding. You can tell how great they are by how you pet loves it and Savannah sure loves it.

What a great place to take your dog for boarding! This is the only place we have left our dog, and I hope the only place we leave him. He only stays every six months or so, but he is recognized each time he comes in. We took our previous dog to several different places. None were as personable and loving!

Texas Doghouse is conveniently located off 2978; adjacent to The Woodlands.
The application process is a bit lengthy, but I appreciate how extensively they screen their dogs. They do a great job of evaluating dogs before they are taken in, and I was really impressed with how they gradually bring a new dog into their yard in a controlled way for their first visit. Everyone on staff I have met is very friendly and they let me know if anything unusual took place when I pick her up, and I know she’s in a safe, happy, clean, balanced environment where she can play with other dogs. It’s as safe of an environment as one can possibly expect.
Instead of an off-​leash dog park where you have to deal with irresponsible owners who break park rules and create potentially dangerous situations, your dog is in a playground overseen by a professional, knowledgeable staff. It’s a large space with an always-​open door at the back that opens to a yard with wading pools and toys. So, your dog can go inside /​outside at will.
I called for an up-​date one time and the pack leader asked me to hold so she could find out what my pup was up to at the moment. Only a minute later she told me my dog was «chillin outside». I LOVE that. It is so much better for her to build her confidence and socialize with other dogs instead of being cooped up (bored and alone) at home.
The owners are VERY hands-​on and VERY responsible, loving animal lovers. They cap the amount of dogs allowed to play each day (for safety) so make sure you book online or call Texas Doghouse directly to schedule your appointment. I suggest purchasing the passes to save money. If you have any questions, give them a call.
Bottom line: The owners and employees care and the dogs can be dogs. What more do you want?

I don’t understand the negative reviews, we have never had anything but positive experiences here. Heather and David have always treated us and our dog with nothing but respect. Our only issue now is we live so far away and it makes it hard to get out there. I would recommend this facility any time.

I take my little one to Texas Doghouse twice a week for doggie day care and she loves it! She is super excited when she arrives and everyone treats her like she is their own. I have boarded her several times without any issues. They are a family run business and they treat everyone as such. Very knowledgeable on all things dog.
Regarding the negative review by Manas D, I am glad they discriminate as they have the best interest of all the dogs they board. Safety is important as they are responsible and liable for the well-​being of people’s most precious family members. I am sure you have a lovely dog, and you can call it ignorance, but you never hear of Labradors or Maltese killing others.

If there were zero stars I would give them exactly that.
First off, great job on the website. Every service is explained in a clear and concise format.
I needed a place where I could drop my dog off for this weekend. We are going out of town. So I follow the steps and sign up on-​line for my dog to be «interviewed» by these so called «true dog lovers». I signed up for the interview on 3÷26÷2013, a lady calls me back the same day.
This is what she says «Sir, it was great to see that you have an interest in signing up your dog for the interview. Unfortunately, we do not accept Pitbulls.»
I did not need to hear another word from these «true dog lovers.» I thanked her and hung up the phone.
Listen here folks at Texas Doghouse or anyone else that practices the same discriminatory acts. I can raise a German Shepherd, Labrador or any other breed to be a killer. It does not matter what breed the dog is, you bigots don’t seem to understand that how you raise them matters. Pitbulls only get that reputation because they are pretty strong dogs and have been used by the wrong people to do wrong things.
Goli, my 6 year old American Pitbull Terrier is the sweetest dog. No issues with the stereotyped temperament or aggressive behavior.
Please change your policies or please stop calling yourself «true dog lovers.»

If you’re looking for boarding or daycare for your canine pets, this is the place to go. We’ve been bringing our dog here over a year and she loves it and everyone there. We use them for daycare, boarding and training and have never had any problems. Heather and David are kind and loving to all their clients. Our dog asks to go to daycare, so we know it’s a place she loves. Thanks so much for your wonderful service.
