Dr. David Hornung provides comprehensive dentistry including operative dentistry, fixed and removable prosthodontics, root canal therapy and extractions.

Dr. Daria Hornung enjoys performing all phases of general and cosmetic dentistry as well as cosmetics procedures such as Botox and fillers in conjunction with dental treatment.

Dr David Leader is an Associate Clinical Professor at Tufts Dental School in Boston, and is the Chairman of the Council on Dental Benefit Programs of the Massachusetts Dental Society.

Dr. Hubert Park is a pediatric dentist who received advanced training at Tufts in children’s dentistry.

Dr. Jake Park graduated from Columbia University College of Dental Medicine and received advanced training at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in periodontics. Dr. Jake Park places dental implants, and performs all phases of periodontal treatment.

Business Owner

Dr. David Hornung performs all phases of general and cosmetic dentistry. When you want to enhance your smile Dr. David combines his skills with extraordinary artistry to give you the smile you want. He is passionate about keeping up with the latest advances in dentistry and strives for patient satisfaction and comfort. To stay on top of his field, Dr. David completes post-​graduate dental continuing education yearly and is trained in Invisalign. David is a Boston native and a third generation dentist.

Dr. Daria Hornung is a compassionate dentist who always takes special care to provide the highest quality dental care to all patients. Dr. Daria has exceptional clinical skills and passion for esthetics. She is also trained in Botox/​Fillers and fluent in Russian.

Both live in Boston, graduated from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, and are members of the American Dental Association and the Massachusetts Dental Society.

The office is clean well taken care of. appointment scheduling is good. the only down side is that it feels as if you are going to a car dealership. everyone sells dental services at this office including the receptionist.

If you are looking for a dentist/​dental office, look no further. I seldom write reviews but had to on this! I was searching for a new dentist and made a few calls to one in walking distance of my home but by my third call and them telling me to call back I gave up on them. I then Googled «Malden dentists» and called D2. From the minute Emily answered the phone, I knew I found the right place. Emily is the office manager and she was professional and courteous, AND she got me in later that day for a cleaning and exam, Dr. Daria actually did the cleaning. I have never had the dentist do the cleaning. Best cleaning I ever had. Unfortunately, I had to have a tooth pulled, which has been one of my biggest fears, but Dr. David did the extraction and put me at ease. Everyone here has been kind and understanding. Glad I found them!

I am surprise that D2 get an all 5 stars reviews. Well, lets be honest. The business is newly bought from an existing business owner. The facility is very clean, up to date — very modern, staff are super friendly and welcoming. You don’t have to wait long if you are schedule to come in for an appointment. If you are having a dental emergency they will try to fit you in ASAP. The down fall side is that Dr Daria goes to fast and her drilling skill is not quite impressive. After seeing her a couple times I’ve experienced lots of pained. Sharp pain when I bite down and unable to chew on one side (Molar). So, i went back and she did a re-​adjustment but still the pain didnt go away. A month later I’ve decided to seek help from another dentist and after a couple of X-​rays. There is a cracked on one of my molar (back tooth) the tooth that she worked on. I believed that she went too fast and the drilling was very deep that it now cause permanent damaged. After seeking two different dentists they both suggest that a root canal is required because of the cracked and how it got infected a week later after the filling. If I knew that the filling would caused so much pain and tooth infection — — I would not seek them at all (this has never happen before and I’ve been to different dentists for more than 20 years plus -). Who would get a tooth infection after a filling? I asked my coworkers and she said — it’s either their tools aren’t sterilized correctly. It’s just very sad and unfortunate that you thought D2 will be your next new dentist for the next 10 – 20 years until the trust went down the drain.

I am so lucky to have found D2 Dental and Dr. Daria Hornung. They are great! She has a phenomenal bedside manner and is willing to answer questions, explain the procedure, and do whatever is necessary to help you feel confident. I have been there for multiple cleanings, xrays, and fillings and always had a good experience. However, today was what inspired me to write this review. Yesterday I developed gum swelling on top of my unerupted wisdom tooth and it was sore for the whole day. Overnight the gum ruptured and created an opened wound. On Saturday morning I was so worried that I was screwed– what dentist would be open on a Saturday? Who would be able to fit me in? I figured I would just see what D2’s hours were. Saturday 9am to 2pm. I was the luckiest girl alive. I called the receptionist and explained my situation and they got me in the office 15 minutes later. They took me back quickly, took xrays, cleaned out the wound and prescribed me an antibiotic and referred me to an oral surgeon. Up until that point, I was convinced that I would just ignore my wisdom teeth until a reason came about to remove them. Dr. Daria never pressured me into getting them removed but listened to my concerns and helped me come up with a strategy to try to keep my erupted wisdom tooth clean. My body has other plans for my teeth, but that’s okay! I feel very lucky to know that no matter what dental problem I’m having, there is a team that can take care of me at (literally) a moment’s notice.
To break down the office:
Location: Downtown Malden, there is street parking and lot parking available throughout the downtown area. The office itself is somewhat small, but very clean and has an open floor-​plan style layout which is comforting, you never feel like you’ve been forgotten or couldn’t get help if you needed it.
People: The receptionists are always fantastic, sweet, kind, and considerate. The doctors and hygienists are great as well.
Service: I’m never left waiting when I come here. The team is prompt, efficient, but takes their time to make you feel comfortable. All of my dental work from them has been excellent and they aren’t afraid to take it to the next level to help you have the best oral hygiene (for me that meant getting a prescription for fluoride to use after brushing. No other dentist had even mentioned that as an option!).
Overall, 5 stars. Very happy to have started coming here.

Some people are afraid of flying, some are afraid of public speaking, I am one of those that would do anything and I mean anything to avoid a dentist, but at some point when the pain set in I found myself at the doorstep and mercy of Dr. Hornung. It had been awhile for me, so there was lots to be unfamiliar with. As soon as I walked in the door, my guard went down, the setup and the person behind the desk got things moving along quickly and after a couple of short minutes of talking with Dr. Hornung I truly felt he was speaking from the heart and not just looking to get another transaction going. He followed up with a phone call and was there from start to finish getting my challenges behind me quickly, efficiently, and most important painlessly! I have told my story about him to friends, family and even my barber is giving him a call. I can’t believe I am saying this, but I’m looking forward to going back and getting more follow up work done now that I found someone I feel I can trust. Total game changer! Thanks Dr. Hornung!

I have been coming to this office for almost a year now. Many things have been consistent: professionalism, courtesy and care by both staff and doctors. They would always make sure you get the best dental care available and treat you with utmost attention and a smile. The change that happened recently took my experience as a patient there to a higher level yet: the office was renovated top to bottom and inside out. Go see for yourself!

I have been a patient of Dr Hornung for many years. I follow her to every new office that she goes to. She is definately my «forever» dentist. She did all of my fillings and even saved one tooth from needing a root canal! Besides being finctionally perfect, her work is also gorgeous– ask for a before &after pics! My father was here from Puerto Rico for 6 months and did all his dental work with her as well– root canals, crowns, fillings, 7 implant crowns. She restored his bite to normal and he can now smile and eat normally. He couldn’t be happier.
This new office that her and her husband bought is by far the nicest in the area. The equipment and materials are top notch and the staff are all sweethearts.
Highly recommend to everyone!

Went in for my cleaning and not only was I treated to complimentary San pellegrino in the waiting area but they use updated cleaning tools so there was no teeth scraping! The assistants and dentist were all very pleasant and they really do use state of the art equipment.

Professionalism Bar None! I travel to Boston for business all the time and as it happens had cracked a molar at dinner. I needed treatment ASAP and when I did a Unilocal search D2 came up. I loved the reviews and the Pics showed exactly who I a would be dealing with (Daria and Dave) hence the D2. :)
When I called in, there assistant was able to schedule me in a for an emergency consult. Dave was on it! I got a temporary crown and got a Bruxzir ordered, which was fine since I had to be back in Boston by the time it was ready!!!
Also loved the branch new office.

Best. Dentist. Ever. Super friendly stuff, wonderfully renovated office, they explain in detail what’s going on in your mouth (first dentist I ever had that took pictures inside my mouth and showed them to me!), and NETFLIX WHILE YOU GET YOUR PROCEDURE DONE!

This is for sure one of the nicest and friendliest offices I’ve been to. Having to move around a lot throughout my life, I’ve had a lot of dentist and these guys are definitely up there!
The office is spotless: clean, modern and comfortable. The staff is super friendly and went above and beyond to squeeze me into the time slot that worked with my busy schedule.
The dentist was sweet and professional. Explained everything in great detail, took photos and showed me what needed to be done. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a great dentist!

Still Top Notch Dental Services. Leader Dental associattes have now become D2 Dental Associates. have been taking my family there for over 10 years. Sadly Dr. Leader has sold the Practice to the New Owners Doctor’s David and Daria Hornung.
Dr. Leader will still be there on Thursdays seeing patients. He is now pretty much teaching dentistry full time at Tuft’s Dental School. We wish you well Dr. Leader.
Myself & my family met Dr. Daria today for the first time. She is a sweet caring and very nice person. We were very pleased with her kindness and professionalism.

One word describes the service at D2 = FANTASTIC. I don’t often post on Unilocal,but after the terrible experiences I have encountered at many Boston based Dentist, I felt it necessary to spread the good word about this dentist office. Friendly and warm staff who actually care about your well being (not just trying to pressure you into unecessary dental work like many other dentist). I recently moved to the area and have been looking for a new dental office. D2 Dental came highly recommended to me and it didn’t disappoint. I had my first cleaning and check up last week and was very happy with my experience.

I was in need of a new dentist as was truly sick of driving to (what is now) my old one. I looked online and decided to take a chance with D2 Dental /​Leader Dental in Malden — and boy am I glad I did. I reached out, explained my situation and they asked me when I could come in. They had appointments earlier but I opted for a Friday afternoon (not terrible to get out work a little early on a Friday, right?) with Dr. Hornung (the woman, who, by the way is a total fox).
The location is within walking distance from Malden Center on the Orange line which made things very easy. They also told me that if I parked in a nearby garage and would validate it for me — #winning
Before going to D2 Dental /​Leader Dental, I was instructed to fill out the new patient forms which are easily downloadable from the website. Since the forms were filled out ahead of time I think I waited in the waiting room for a total of two minutes from when I arrived to when I was having my teeth cleaned by Dr. Hornung. Yes, that’s right. The DENTIST cleaned my teeth, took pictures and was EXTREMLY knowledgeable. She took time to explain what she was doing, reiterated if I had any questions to ask, and made sure I was as comfortable as possible.
After the cleaning, the Hygienist /​Dental Assistant flossed me and Dr. Hornung returned to show me the pictures she took. She explained what the certain marks were on my teeth and how I can best utilize my brushing (she showed me the healthiest way to brush that was better for my teeth and gums).
Overall I am SO glad I decided to give this place a try– everything was perfect from beginning to end. If you’re looking for a good Dentist definitely give this place a shot.

Dr. Hornung is great. The staff is very nice and the doctor is very knowledgeable. Everyone seemed happy and my procedure was pain free. Yay I found a new dentist finally! If you are looking for a dentist I can highly recommend.
