Every massage, facial and spa treatment is customized and personalized by professional and certified massage therapists/​esthetician to suit the unique needs of each individual body. We also specialize in Sports Injury and Sports recovery bodywork.

History

Established in 1989.

Since 1989, The Healing Arts Centre has been offering massage and facials to the Eastern Sierra.

Pamela Reynolds started her business «Skin Care by Pamela» in 1989 and «Skin and Body Therapy» in 1995.

In 1999, Pamela moved her business location and changed the business name to something more holistic,“The Healing Arts Centre”.

In 2001, Carrie Ognibene purchased the business and is now the new proprietor of Healing Arts Centre, adding Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine to its menu of services.

In 2002 the center expanded and added two more treatment rooms (total 5 rooms) to facilitate the increase in business and services being offered.

In 2003 the center added the Rolf Method of Structural Integration.

In 2005 Healing Arts added Chiropractic work to its integrative health center.

By 2006 Healing Arts Centre expanded again, renovating 850 sq. feet, into the Healing Arts Movement Studio. The Movement Studio offers Yoga, Mat Pilates, Dance, Trapeze, Martial Arts and Workshops.

Carrie Ognibene, HHP — Proprietor of Healing Arts Centre since 2001

Carrie is a Holistic Health Practitioner, and has been practicing massage therapy since 1996. Carrie is certified and licensed as a Holistic Health Practitioner of Therapeutic Massage and Oriental Bodywork, Esthetician and Aroma therapist.

Carrie’s specialty is integrating western and eastern techniques by combining deep tissue massage and oriental bodywork. Carrie’s experience in athletic sports gives her the knowledge and personal experience in therapeutic sports massage. Not to mention, her gift is giving a healing and nurturing Aromatherapy massage that will leave you in bliss of relaxation.

I graduated from the University of San Diego in 1993 with a BBA-​Business Adm.

In 1996, I attended Mueller College of Holistic Studies and graduated with an HHP certification.

I graduated from the International Academy of Style 2003 and became a licensed Esthetician in the state of California.

Best way to relax after a day on the mountain is a visit to Healing Arts Centre! I had a 60 min massage with Jennifer A. Jen was fantastic; giving me exactly what I asked for — not too rough and not too light. She was knowledgeable about anatomy and technique and was able to answer all of my questions. My experience was fabulous from beginning to end. I will definitely be going back to her this season!

My family and I have been vacationing in Mammoth annually for the past 10 years. Every year I plan on taking a yoga class. Finally, I did it! Today, actually. So glad I did! Scott, the yoga instructor, is amazing. He made me feel completely comfortable the first 5 minutes I was there! He’s very engaging and a superb instructor. The studio is really pretty and has a gorgeous view! If you have any desire to take a class here, please do so! Thank you, Scott!

First time for a 60-​min professional massage! A group of us rolled in to relax after some skiing. I really don’t have any complaints, but I’ll just have to admit that I’m not much of a massage guy.
I was still sore the next day from my ski sessions that weekend… maybe a tiny bit less so? I don’t think I was much more relaxed, and I kind of wonder what I gained from it.
Phebi was nice though, and had good knowledge from anatomy, from what I could tell. They were able to fit in 4 of us for staggered appointments at short notice, which is something not many of the other studios could do, so props for that :)

My husband and I both had great massages here. Phoebe was awesome and knowledgable about anatomy and what muscles needed more work and my husband had Sandi who was also great and now has him sold on getting future massages on a regular basis. On the way to the massage he said «an hour and a half seems like a long time for a massage» (who says that?) after the massage he definitely didn’t feel that way. Obviously we both recommend these two great masseuses.

So I haven’t had a massage in almost a year. I went to the healing arts center and got a 2 hour deep tissue massage by Phebi. It was by far one of the most relaxing and amazing massages I’ve ever had. Phebi was super professional and knows her anatomy and craft very well. This is something I will be doing again and would recommend to anyone looking for a good sports massage or just to relax.

As a marathon runner with over 40 years running I have rely on bodywork to stay competitive. Carrie was one of the most experienced clinicians I have ever seen. Her technique combines many styles. Her knowledge of the body and how it works is amazing. I just wish she lived in Sonoma ca so I could go regularly.

Wow. What a fantastic massage from Carrie! My friend had Christine and was equally satisfied with her massage. We both got hour-​long deep tissue massages and were so freakin’ amazed after. Carrie combined rolfing/​structural integration along with deep tissue to work out kinks in my active body.
I whole-​hardheartedly recommend this spot for your massages! Worth EVERY penny.

I had read some other reviews on Unilocal that helped me determine that this is the place that I wanted to get my massage. I was not disappointed! I requested Carrie and I was glad I did. It was not your typical cookie cutter massage. She really tailored it to my needs. She mixed a variety of techniques. My cousin got her massage with Christine and also was very satisfied. This place is legit and you will leave feeling relaxed and well taken care of.

I had a massage here with Carrie that was really good. She had the perfect pressure and technique for my sore Crossfit muscles. The room was nice and cozy and the bed was also very comfortable.
I liked my massage so much that I returned the next day for a 90 minute European facial with Sandy. She also did a phenomenal job. She used different brands of products, gave a great massage, and was very relaxing.
Finally, I checked out the restorative yoga class with Tara. The floor was heated which was a plus. There is a large column in the middle of the room, but it didn’t hinder the class. I really enjoyed the small class.
I will always come back on my return visits to Mammoth.

Major kudos to Sandy! :-) She is as amazing as people say.
She did myofascial in addition to deep tissue work on me which was super helpful To relieve a lot of stress and tension I had. Been going through pretty difficult time my life And the experience was Truly healing. It’s like magic! She finds the exact spots that need to be worked on. I bought the two hour massage. Personally being a massage junkie, Anything less than 90 minutes doesn’t really do me or the massage therapist justice. To me a 60 minute massage is just kind of a quickie — Better than nothing but Why shortchange yourself?
It is obvious that Sandy is obviously very experienced. I was totally relaxed that I fell asleep! (For a bit) She is very professional And has a good energy about her Which is important to me in a massage therapist. It was very peaceful and discrete. And I could really tell she took the effort to individualize my Treatment. That it wasn’t one of those cookie-​cutter massage envy Protocols. And I do appreciate that she actually gave me the full time that I paid for unlike, Unfortunately massage envy that shorts you very often.
This is one of the best Massages I have had in a long time & in the most beautiful serene place. She knew the exact pressure points Therapeutic Intensity level To achieve sheer bliss. I was totally relaxed that I fell asleep!
And trust me this Princess loves her massages! ;-) You pay for what you get but honestly for they are very reasonable And totally worth it.
I absolutely love that The establishment is so low-​key and not pretentious. And with the beautiful backdrop of the Sierra Nevada mountains … Tranquility too can be yours! :)

I reserved a couples massage, was given a price and gave my credit card information to keep the reservation as a gift for my girlfriend’s birthday. Upon showing up at healing arts, my girlfriend was taken into a separate room, and I was told to wait. A second masseuse came out and said she was ready. I explained I was confused, and had reserved a «couples massage» and wondered what the misunderstanding was. I was told, someone else took my reservation, and they don’t do that type of massage. I was also educated about the fact that «all a couples massage was, was being in the same room together» Which was super helpful information, as if I was a moron and had never done this before.
Later I was told «Well sorry, not sure what we can do. You can have yours separate?» To which I declined and the masseuse left promptly after.
For a business that specializes in massages, the knowledge of a couples massage is pretty standard procedure and am very disappointed in the way I was mislead.
Girlfriend really loved the massage, best she’s had. So 3 stars.

Healing Arts Centre & Movement Studio is just a quaint little yoga studio with a couple of small massage studios off to the side. When you walk in, you will run right into the reception desk. The massage space is just a small warm (not a temperature, but more like a feeling) space that is inviting and comfortable.
My hubby and I each had a 1+ hour massage and were in heaven after we were both finished. My massage therapist was Carrie and she was really kind and very attentive to what my body needed. She was also careful to tell me what parts of my body were sore and stretches that I could do to loosen some of the muscles up.
Pros:
–Great Massages
–Great space with good energy
–Really nice staff
–Clean facilities
Cons:
–No couples massages available because there is no space large enough to house two massage tables.
Tips:
–Located on the left side just past the stove café
–Remember to take your shoes off when you enter!

This was the best massage I have ever had… period. Carrie has released knots that have been in my shoulders for 2 decades! My wife also seems extremely relaxed after Jen’s massage, so two thumbs up for Healing Arts Centre. We will certainly be back!

My aging body desperately needed some TLC after being subjected to a few days of snowboarding and skiing as well as being exposed to the elements as I wasn’t dressed appropriately to be hanging out up at the top of the Sierras in some really chilly windy conditions.
Anyway — looked up and called and was shocked to find two openings at the same time for both my friend and me. Without hesitation, I was giving them my information over the phone to make sure we got those spots.
Easy to find. Located above the used bookstore. Lots of parking. Not the most modern facility but very clean. Staff was very friendly. Christine is one of the better therapists I’ve ever come across. And I’ve been getting massages for quite a while.
I first noticed her strength when she greeted me and shook my hand. Then it was confirmed when she was able to pinpoint and address the tension in my shoulders and back with her fingers and only minimally use her elbows to work it all out. It wasn’t just about her strength though — she knew her way around the muscles; found the trouble spots and used enough pressure, some light and some very hard to get the job done.
I’ll be back to Mammoth when the snow conditions improve and I hope Christine is still there. I’ll definitely ask for her again.

What a difference a massage makes.
I’m usually skeptical when I see a business with a perfect score. Sometimes I think that they got friends to post them. I’m glad that I didn’t let that stop me from discovering one of the best massage boutiques I’ve ever been to.
With my activity level and injuries, I have found the benefit of getting a massage frequently. In Los Angeles, there are no shortage of places that I have visited for therapy and have found this place to be at the top of the list.
After surgery last year and missing out a season of snow, my first day back on the slopes I awoke the next day stiff and sore. My wife also took a few tumbles off Cornice and needed a little body work.
Here are the 5 reasons why you should come here and why I’ll be back.
1) Easy to book appointments. Called and they were available for 2 people within the hour for 1 ½ hour massage.
2) Easy to find location. Right across from the Stove, with plenty of parking.
3) Friendly staff. Not only was Carrie really welcoming, her staff was the same.
4) Relaxing, clean and comfortable rooms. Warm comfortable beds and clean sheets that allow you to heal mind, body and soul.
5) Amazing hands. Without a word during the session, my therapist was able to find all the knots and work them out with the right amount of pressure. Did not feel rushed and provided the therapy where needed.
Massages feel great, but the true test is how you feel the next 24 hours. Amazing that all soreness was gone that night. Woke up refreshed and was able to tackle the slopes the next two days no problem. In fact, I woke up after the trip without any soreness.
We all know that massage therapy promotes healing and recovery. A great masseuse allows you to maximize this opportunity and enjoy life.
