History

Established in 1991.

Atlantic Sun Control was started by two guys working out of their basement with a single truck. We have now grown to be one of the largest window film installers in the nation. Our huge buying power allows us to provide customers with excellant pricing on the industries best films. Atlantic Sun Control has been chosen to install some of the areas most prestious projects including The Kennedy Center, Dulles Airport, The World Bank, FedEx Stadium, Woodlawn and Oatlands Plantations, and many of the areas most prestigous homes. We are a fully licensed Class A Contractor and never use subcontractors to complete our projects.

Simply an outstanding company — great employees, great product, great value. This morning (4÷1÷2015), we had Atlantic Sun Control out to our home in the vicinity of Sterling, VA, in order to tint the master bath casement windows and garage door windows. Chris Martin did the estimate. Rich and Dan did the work. Perfect execution on all fronts. Since 2001, this is the fifth time we have had Atlantic Sun Control to our home. Now every exterior window is tinted. This final tinting adds uniformity of appearance in addition to all the positive reasons you tint windows. We used VR45 tint. This company has had the same phone number, same location, same estimator since they were refereed to us by word-of-mouth in 2001. Highly recommended. Ken & Tammy

Chris came out with samples and measured my windows and had a proposal in about 15 minutes. Scheduled the install a week later. Eric and Ryan did the install. Very professional and satisfied with the price. Huge difference in house temps and my ac isn’t on non stop now with it being over 90 degrees outside. Highly recommend. Installed 7÷1÷14

Chris came out to show me the different solar film options and measure windows on Wednesday. Our 3 level house has a lot of windows and the top level is sooo much hotter than the lower levels in part due to so much heat coming in from all those windows. I picked one of the darker films because we prefer to filter all that sun light and also want a break from the heat. Chris was able to answer all my questions and didn’t try to sell me on anything, he just explained what they do and let me decide on my own.
Next we went around measuring all those windows. Price was a concern as we have just purchased this house and don’t have alot of surplus money laying around so I eventually settled on just starting with the upper level to try and equalize the heat situation. Chris called the office and scheduled our install for the upcoming Monday. The order sheet is easy to read and understand, no hidden fees! The prices are also very reasonable for the product. Before install I was a bit worried, but it’s worth every penny!
On Monday the two man crew showed up right on time, were quick, friendly and professional. They took extra time to clean all the windows and were careful with all the beds/desk they had to move to access them. Once finished I was just amazed! The glare is gone, the windows look perfect, both inside and out. It is a bit darker, but that was the effect we were going for when we picked the darker film. And the temperature difference in the house is so much better. It’s no longer a 20 degrees difference from the bottom to the top level! Now we haven’t had a really hot day since the install but I feel very confident this was a great investment and can’t wait to get the mid level done to reduce glare on our TV.

Last year I decided to be an adult and finally invest in a brand new sofa from Macy’s and ditch the 20-year-old hand-me-down couch that served me well for five years. The new sofa’s pricetag was self-justified as an «investment», i.e. I wouldn’t have to buy another sofa for years to come. Just one summer later, however, I was dismayed to see that — gasp! — my sofa was fading thanks to the sunlight. I had to do something and fast. I found Atlantic Sun Control after digging around on Google for a bit. I’m glad I did.
Atlantic Sun Control offered me a very competitive rate on a very small job. I only needed two windows tinted with special film to reduce the sunlight entrance. Many places I called either wouldn’t do this, or wanted to charge an exorbitant rate just to come to my apartment in DC. Atlantic Sun Control didn’t bat an eye at the size and scope of my job needed. Their two guys came to my place on time, were very pleasant and respectful (one even followed our «shoes off» rule of the apartment) and got the job done quickly. Their representative over the phone was also extremely helpful and understood that since I rented, I wasn’t interested in sinking a lot of money into the job. I just wanted enough to protect my «investment».
