Let’s see where do I start. Horrible cable, horrible Internet, horrible customer service, horrible installers. If you want to be locked into a contract with someone that has your Social Security number then sign up at your own risk.

Comcast. What a joke. A horrible service and horrible customer service. Equipment works for about 6 months only to have to drive all the way to Manassas to replace it for another peice of worthless equipment. I’d rather not detail all my Comcast complaints here as it just makes my blood pressure rise, but I’m quite sure I’m not the only person overspending to watch TV. And surely I’m not the only person to have to listen to someone in Mexico read troubleshooting from the manual to me.
Two things that make me flip my lid. My HOA and Comcast! Ugh.

I can see why Comcast has continually remained at the bottom of lists of customer service. I’m in a complex where they only have Comcast. I had terrible cable service and had to have repairmen out here many times. Now they have tacked on a $ 40 service charge for the last call. Why should I pay for their terrible service? Someone needs to deal with this company. I have Fios previously at another location and never had any issues.

Comcast has the worst customer service I have ever seen. After being a loyal customer to them for 15 years and always paid my bill early I started to get extremely slow internet service (4 megs per second, when I was paying for up to 150 megs per second).
The first technician could not find the problem, the second stated he found the problem was the main line running into the neighborhood needed to be replaced and a supervisor would get back with me to tell me when that could be done. After months and nothing I call back and they act like it was the first time I called them. They sent another technician out who verified the known problem and said a supervisor would be calling me. I have never received a call from a supervisor.
After several weeks I called back and again, they acted like it was the first time they were aware of the problem and offered to send a technician out.
When I complained I was not getting the service I paid for they said it doesn’t matter if I was only getting 4 megs per second, they were providing service, so the fact I wasn’t getting the full 150 megs per second doesn’t matter, I had service!
When I went in to return my equipment and they didn’t even ask why I was discontinuing service.
I went with with Direct TV for television and FIOS for internet and am happy.
Good riddance to Comcast.

The customer service is very good. The ladies at the Comcast location in Manassas are nice and helpful.
But their hardware sucks!!!
The box you put on top of your TV is incredibility slow. It always has to check to see if you’re a subscriber to a channel before it starts to show you the channel. Very slow software in this system. It’s very irritating. At least once a day it completely locks up, has to be unplugged and restarted.
Can’t Comcast afford better equipment? They had enough to buy NBC.

I pay $ 39.99+$ 10 per month for a 25Mbps Internet, and the Comcast is terrible. The worst internet service I have ever used! I just moved in Westgate Apartment 7days ago, and I lived in Wheelhouse Apartment in Fairfax before. I got Cox Internet service in previous apartment only $ 17+$ 10 per month for 6Mbps and that was much better than currently 25Mbps with Comcast! DO NOT USE COMCAST! THE WORST SERVICE! I can’t do anything with Comcast Internet, so I have to terminate my service now, but I can’t even open a website! A funny company!

Had to return my girlfriend’s cable box when she moved in. Got there in the afternoon and they were closed for an hour for lunch. Waited for them to open being the secnd or third person waiting, but since i didnt wait right outside against the door and instead used my comfortable car seat ended up being like tenth in line when they reopened.
When the store reopened post lunch break i had expected to see one person working the counter… Nope. Three. Clearly the comcast employees are much more important than their customers as all three should go to lunch st the same time (instead of staggered breaks like normal customer based businesses) while their customers such as my self take an hour and a half out of our day filled with absolutely nothing to do.

After months of horrible internet service I switched to FIOS in May. While turning in my equipment the person behind the desk explained I would receive a final bill. I received a bill dated June 1 for $ 53 that stated the due date was June 22. I received another bill dated June 7, for $ 53 stating it was due immediately. I then received a collections notice from a collection agency dated June 20 for the $ 53. Really? Is comcast that desperate for money that they send you to collections BEFORE the actual due date of the bill? I have filed a complaint with the BBB. I will never use comcast again, ever.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH PAUL LONG!!! If you absolutely have to go through Comcast then go DIRECTLY through Comcast customer service! Paul Long is a piece of sh*t liar! My lawyer will make sure he gets fired for his behavior and he will never ever be able to f*ck with anybody ever again!

I love comcast and no its not because I have comcast!
I went to visit them because my aunt doesnt speak english so when the nice man answered to my questions he greeted me with the best attitude. My aunt had told me that they always had issues talking to customer service reps at this particular comcast building so she told me to not mind there comments.
I asked him about the trouble we had with one of our bills and he said it was no problem that he would get us the help we needed and just to not worry. He went out of the way to help us fix a couple of issues we had with out bill and did it with a smile on his face.
He helped us make an appointment to get an additional box installed to her house and he went over the steps we needed to take to install the box if we didnt want the repair man to go by and install it.
The rest of the customer service experts there looked at me and smilled and asked who my aunt has talked to before that made her feel like they didnt care about her. She said it was some other women that was there before so one of the ladies there told us that she had been fired because a lot of people complained about her.
I think the people here at comcast really do care about each and every customer they have now and in the future unlike verizon (i have verizon) i think im going to switch to comcast. Yes deffinately will do that before this month ends maybe i can get a sweet deal like my auntie did. I love comcast!

I had yet another Comcast experience l went into the office. Requested to schedule automatic payment for my account a nd pay past due. The young lady l was working with give me the amount. I verified the amount several time because agent dId not appesr yo be trsIned. Well the next day services where disconnected for non pa ynent of 43.00.

I recently got a mailer from Comcast advertising fast internet for $ 19.99 for 6 months or $ 49.99 for Blast Plus for higher internet speeds and basic local channels. I decide this a good deal and would be a good change from Verizon DSL I use for internet and Direct TV since I could combine both services for $ 49.99 (for the first 6 months since price goes up $ 20 after — but still a good deal since it’s still less than my current separate plans).
Our technician comes on 9÷8÷2012 to do the install. He sets up the internet with the cable modem and gets ready to leave when I ask him what about the TV. He says his paperwork only says internet and advises me to call Comcast back to setup another appointment.
No problem, I still have Direct TV.
I call Comcast and I get yo-​yoed between the sales dept who says I’m already a customer and transfers me to customer service and customer service who says I should be transferred to sales because technically, this is new service I’m requesting.
I finally get someone who decides to take ownership and sets me up for another appointment.
Great!
I get another tech who comes on ⁹⁄₁₆ and sets up TV service.
Great.
I realize this service does not include a DVR but only a cable box (I knew I was getting standard definition and less channels but I forgot to ask about the DVR… My mistake)
I get another mailer advertising fast internet for $ 19.99 for 1 year with a 1-​year contract. I decide ok, let me switch TV service back to Direct TV (thank God I did not cancel them) and switch my $ 49.99 internet + TV plan to $ 19.99 internet only plan.
I go outside to switch the cables back to the satellite dish only to realize the last Comcast tech cut the cable. He did not disconnect my existing Direct TV to connect to Comcast. He just cut the cable to Direct TV.
Great!
I call Direct TV so they can come and rewire. They are happy to oblige for a small $ 49.99 fee.
No problem.
I call Comcast to switch to the internet plan.
On 9/​24, I call Comcast and get yo-​yoed between the sales dept who says I can’t do that because I’m an existing customer (really, after only 16 days after the first installation) and customer service who says I should be transferred to sales because, technically,… you know, this is new service.
Really?
I say I want to cancel.
My service gets cancelled the same evening.
Now,
I want to personally congratulate Comcast for doing something very well. They cancelled my service on the same day I called to cancel, bravo.
I also want to officially notify Comcast that I will personally make every effort and due diligence to mention:
my experience with Comcast as a whole,
my experience with their technicians (I forgot to mention the first tech who came out just left the cover for the cable box outside laying on the ground, and forgot his screwdriver and left without screwing back a small panel he took apart in the house, nice. And the second tech cut the cable to my existing Direct TV service leading me to pay an additional charge of $ 49.99 to have Direct TV come to fix it.),
my experience with customer care over the phone as well as their sales department,
the lack of customer service I got, even though I was assured every step of the way that everything was done to keep me satisfied,
the lack of anyone attempting to get a manager involved to save a customer or override the system,
the fact that Comcast was so quick to deny any promotion to a new customer based on the fact that promotions are for new customers only (yup, that makes total sense).
I contacted Comcast, ordered service, got 2 technicians to get completely setup and cancelled service all within a 3 week period.
Maybe that now I’ve cancelled, I can try calling them to get that promotional offer again…

Worst company out right now. Our internet has been in and out for about 6 months and they want to blame everything except themselves. If you have the option for Verizon or any other provider go with them … AVOID COMCAST/​XFINITY AT ALL COSTS!

Where do I begin. My husband and I were trying to save money and thought Comcast would be a better choice; we were so wrong. First, the installation guy was horrible. He was an hour and a half late and was confrontational about it because Comcast offers$ 20 off if the install person is late. Then he was at my house forever because he was MIA with a friend for an hour. When he came back he was on the phone with a friend talking about how much he hates doing installs in VA. When he finally got around to installing our TV he had called Comcast for help and I overheard him tell them that he can’t figure out how to make it HD so he was going to set it up as a regular install. When he did the internet he didn’t even check to make sure the computers were working. When I asked him what is our key or password was he said that I was to do it. Anyways I could go on about this guy but I will cut ahead… The pictures of the tore up backyard and box are pictures of how he left my yard and basement. The actual TV service looks like I strapped rabbit ears on my TV and it was 1986 again. The internet only worked on one PC; the others couldn’t login because we were given NO LOGIN! We canceled the two hours later. Comcast still sent their line layers out even after we canceled. I was doing my online classes when I hear someone in my backyard banging on stuff. I go outside ask them to stop and state that I do not have their service and I do not want the line, they can take it. Another worker JUMPS and SITS one my wooden fence that I JUST FIXED and insist that I let them. It goes into to an argument and they do it anyways and end up CUTTING MY VERIZON LINE!!! They said they didn’t do it and leave immediately, but I have no internet when I just did before they started. I had to wait and have Verizon come out and relay my line and I had to pay $ 50 installation to have Direct TV reinstall out TV because the install guy from Comcast cut the wire half way up my house. And finally I come to today when my husband opened a credit collection bill wanting us to pay $ 90 for the installation or it will be sent to the credit bureau. A collection bill for the crap job that we only had for 2 hours and they told us they had taken care of this fee when we canceled and went to the building to let them know what their service people were doing. THIS WAS THE ABSOLUTE WORST EXPERIENCE! HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE!

Appalling customer service. The technician who showed up at our house was curt to the point of rudeness. After an electrician updated our cable wiring, television service wouldn’t work. The electrician and I spent an additional hour on the phone with Comcast’s customer service representative before she decided someone would have to come out again! Five additional days of no television, plus paying an electrician for an hour for nothing (through no fault of his).

Comcast cable cuts out every once in a while but works ok, at an average «high» speed. Their mid level management and customer service mentality is terrible.
Why? My apartment building (which is wonderful) paid my bill along with five others like they do every month. Comcast credited everything to one apartment and can see the error, but they refuse to reinstate my service until they investigate the problem, which can take 3 – 4 weeks. They want another payment even though there is one apartment now paid for the next six months.
It took multiple call by myself and my building management just to get a straight answer about what had happened! Forget about resolving it.

Imagine that, 1 year later I am writing ANOTHER review. This time I encouraged my mother to get the 3 in 1 bundle from Comcast (like I didn’t learn my lesson last time!)…
She has been without phone service for 3 WEEKS since the «installation»!
Thank goodness I DO NOT HAVE COMCAST!

Wow. I almost can’t believe I am writing this review.
I have been a comcast customer for 5 years. And today I was fed up with my bill.
I gave them a call, and reached their call center in Manassas. I said «I have been a customer for 5 years, and I was wondering what could be done to lower my bill»
Alix, was very helpful – and after about 10 minutes of her computer thinking, she was able to bill me 25 dollars less a month for the exact same service. While this leaves me feeling over billed before – I am extremely happy the lowering didn’t take an act from God or something just as complicated.
I am now saving over 300 dollars a year — -holla.

This review is specifically for the local service office of Comcast.
Today Verizon came out to install my Verizon FIOS — High speed internet, HD TV, and phone service.
After the installation was complete and I verified everything was working properly — I called Comcast to cancel my service with them. I was dreading the call — I was sure they would make it unnecessarily difficult to cancel the service.
The gentleman on the phone told me I was supposed to give them a minimum 7 day notice on termination. BUT — if I would drop off the cable box, remote, etc., they would cancel my account as soon as these items were returned. So I immediately jumped in the car and cruised over to the closest service office in Manassas. The place stays open until 6:00 pm — I made it there about 5:40 pm. There were two other ladies in line in front of me — but they were processed quickly.
The lady that assisted me — her name was Anna. She was polite and efficient. She scanned the bar code on the cable box, which brought up my account in their system, and then she terminated my service. I asked what my remaining balance was. She checked and told me they owed me a few bucks and would be sending me a refund check.
I never had any real problems with Comcast — but they can’t compete with Verizon FIOS in terms of the sheer number of HD channels, the higher quality of the HD (less video compression), the higher internet speeds, and the significantly lower costs.
In any case, the cancellation process was far easier than I anticipated and for that I am grateful.

Broadband is old news, but when you’re a remnant of the dinosaur generation still grimacing over the demise of free television, it’s hard to pay for connections that used to be free. Before I chose to update my internet service, I queried my neighbors thoroughly for their recommendations.
As a Unilocaler who is pathetically addicted to good service, courtesy and quality – business constructs more rare than copper, I was looking forward to writing a great Unilocal review. I was pretty disappointed. The upside is that I now zip along the internet far more smoothly than before.
What actually happened:
#1 They missed the installation appointment (a 3 hour window was provided), and no one called to let me know they pushed another order ahead of mine.
#2 At 11:21 am, a maze of voice mail prompts added to my frustration when I called Comcast to find out where the installer was.
#3 My installer finally arrived at 2:30 pm, unannounced. No one ever called to ask if he could still show up.
The installation itself was pretty straight forward. The service person was polite. Like my neighbors, I like the product, but this company certainly could do a better job of respecting their customers.
UPDATE 8÷13÷07
It’s been over a week, I got my opening bill today and SURPRISE, the total is not what I was quoted and does not match my initial work order. Meanwhile, 811 has not marked the utility lines and Comcast’s orange cable still rests on the surface of my lawn.
