Wide assortment of guns and extremely friendly and helpful staff, whether beginner or experienced. Brought my co worker here who has never shot before and Josh gave him some great pointers. In fact too great, as he started shooting better than myself.

Where else can you rent a fully automatic Uzi carbine and shoot it at a target that looks like Starsky pointing a gun at you while keeping a disgruntled Steve Guttenberg in a headlock?
Nowhere nearby, I can tell you that. I’ve looked.
It pays, however, to get a membership. To bring a guest and shoot your own iron on one lane, with ammo you buy from them, costs a pretty penny. You still pay to rent a lane as a member, but you avoid the hour+ wait time on the weekend, and pay less.
But if you want to «rock n’ roll» as the kids say, this is the place to do it.

Went here for my bf’s bday with a couple of friends! Overall had a pretty interesting time! It was nice to hold a rifle just for the experience of it! The price were reasonable and we felt very safe because the instructors really takes the time to teach us.

I really wish we had a place like this in Boston, but whenever my trigger finger gets itchy, I make an hour trip out to Manchester Firing Line.
The facility: Spacious, well lit, temperature controlled, sound controlled, and just overall well equipped.
The staff: Knowledgeable and courteous. They’ll even walk around showing you the mistakes you’re making as you shoot.
Weapons selection: Fantastic. Your semi-​automatics, rifles, even machine guns are available.
The only downside of this place is the price. An hour’s worth of shooting with 100 rounds will cost you roughly $ 50 — 60. Also, if you go on the weekends, be sure to prepare to wait a little (20 — 30 min average). Overall, would go again.

Just returned from my first trip to Manchester Firing Line. Being an experienced shooter that has shot at many gun clubs and indoor ranges, Manchester Firing Line does satisfy all your basic shooting needs. They advertise a «high tech» range, which they do have, but because of many inexperienced shooters/​misplaced shots, the «high tech» features of the lanes have been disabled. So the only functinality the lanes have are basic stationary distance shooting. I wish they would just fix the broken lanes and enable all functionality. Once they fix those issues, it would be worthy of all 5 stars.

I wish this range were closer. I’d be there all the time & probably spend a small fortune. ;) My husband brought me here for my birthday. There was a bit of a wait (we were there on a Saturday), maybe 30 minutes, but a huge group came in behind us — they had a considerably longer wait. The gentleman who did our paper worked talked a million miles an hour, & as a first-​time shooter that made me nervous. But the gentleman in the range lanes, the instructor who went around to all the newbs & helped us out, was kind, patient, not condescending at all, put me completely at ease. I shot a Glock 26, a Glock 19, & an UZI. Highly highly highly recommend. A tad pricy but I felt completely safe the entire time, so it was totally worth it. Loved this place.

It was my first time shooting and I went to MFL from Boston –the whole experience was AWESOME! I ended up shooting a Glock and M4 for an hour (50 shots each).
Tips —
1) Don’t go on a weekend unless you are up for 1 – 2 hour wait ! If you have to go then go in the afternoon.
2) Ask questions if it is your first time
3) Definitely try a fully/​semi automatic assault rifle — there are very few states that allow you to walk in and shoot assault rifles!

The staff was super helpful! They spent at least 20 minutes explaining us amateurs how everything works. There was a range office who supervised the shooting and helped answer any remaining questions. All in all, excellent service and facility! I am definitely going back and trying that Uzi that I have seen in so many action flicks.
(And yes they have a Terminator type gun for show (I hope not for buying) in the lobby)

I’ve been to shooting ranges a few times but I am definitely a beginner and require some hand-​holding. Came here Sunday afternoon with a group of 4, we had about an hour wait. Since they were busy, a few of the guns we were interested in had already been rented, but the front desk was helpful and made other recommendations. The safety officers were great helping customers out, I’ve been to other ranges where you’re basically on your own. If you need it, they will walk you through basic safety, how to load/​unload the gun and how to aim with proper stance.
The staff is very knowledgable and helpful, but they will give you a hard time. The guy at the front desk scolded us for forgetting to say «Please» and the safety officer told us we had an «air of Massachusetts» about us. After our ladies’ night discount, 1.5 hours of range time, 2 gun rentals, 4 boxes of ammo and a few zombie targets cost $ 65 per person. Would definitely go back again.

You complain about getting scolded for shooting armor piercing ammo at the armor at the end of the range? Stupid is as stupid does!

My friends and I drove from boston to NH to shoot here. why the hell not? They had a superior selection of guns compared to the range I was at in Mass. Full autos! those are pretty sweet but be prepared to spend some $$ on ammo when youre emptying out 35 rounds in 3 seconds.

The staff at the front desk was very knowledgeable. Two of our friends never shot a gun before and they did a personal demo right at the front counter. They showed them how to operate the gun, what to do in certain circumstances, and how to be safe. i thought that was pretty awesome because we werent paying for a lesson. Even after we started shooting inside the range, the staff was constantly there and helpful.
we went on a sunday afternoon and it was not busy at the time.

I go here often and like everyone says, it is a very clean and well ventilated place to go shooting. I always look forward to returning. It’s a great place to bring your own firearms. If you go and rent, it can get expensive, but for someone who isn’t planning on going frequently, it’s totally worth it. The people who work there have always been very friendly and helpful to me. Also, if you haven’t, check out Shooters Outpost. They are affiliated (not sure if they’re owned by the same person, but I think so) and are both great businesses. I haven’t been to many other ranges but I definitely plan on going to Manchester Firing Line many more times.
One of my favorite things is seeing and hearing what other people are shooting. I just wish they had an outdoor area or a longer range area. Other than that, I couldn’t ask for much more. Really a great time for anyone who enjoys shooting or who wants to try for the first time.

Manchester Firing Line Range is one of the best gun shops I’ve ever been to and they have — without a doubt — the nicest indoor range in the northeast. The staff has always been friendly and extremely helpful, even with something as simple as doing a transfer for me.
I’ve sold one gun on consignment with them and they called me the day after it sold to let me know my check was ready. They were also kind enough to stay open a few minutes late when I found a somewhat rare gun in their used section that I had to have for my collection.
The shop does get busy sometimes but in this day and age, that’s true of all gun stores.
Excellent place, and I recommend it highly.

Been here several times both before and after becoming a gun owner. Great fun every time, the facilities are great and the staff is always extremely helpful. The quantity and variety of rent-​able guns is a huge… wait for it… draw.
I have, and wouldn’t hesitate again, to bring first-​timers here given the amenities and staff.
Some folks might get a little upset when safety rules apply to them, but I like that about this place… stupidity isn’t tolerated and safety is always a priority.

I went many times in the past, at the old location (around the corner from the new one). I enjoyed that one a lot, but would have rated it probably 4 stars. Then they built this new one and it is fantastic. Even compared to ranges I’ve been to in Vegas, I would say this one is better (depending on your needs I guess — the Vegas ones have booth nannies with you, which some may prefer).
They didn’t have any .22 handguns this time, and it wasn’t clear to me if they no longer do that at all (very odd, for a range), or if they were just all rented and/​or being cleaned at the time.
The new range is more comfortable, has a superior target mount system (and as a result you can do proper Mozambique Drill practice), and the ventilation system is so good that you experience an odd thing where you actually smell the (cordite?) range outside in the parking lot, but you don’t smell it inside on the actual range.
One thing to note, anywhere that has that level of ventilation support is going to by its nature moving a lot of air around, which results in a wind chill effect — in the winter that means any given lane is going to be COLD — so wear layers so you can adjust.
I would say that with the new location, it seems to positively attract a more diverse crowd than I had seen in years past vs just guys wanting a testosterone adventure.

Facilities — Great. For a public range they are one of the cleanest and well organized, well stocked facilities that I have visited. Being a MA resident, I may be slightly impressed by the fact that this place is LARGE.
Staff: Knowledgeable, courteous, and willing to show you all sorts of firearms — even though they know fully well that you’re from a BLUE state.
Range time/​Cost: for a single person it is about average, but go with a group and it adds up QUICK!
«Membership» is in my opinion a sneaky way, to double charge folks a yearly fee & lane fees. Its the same as belonging to a club, but they ONLY charge you Half for RANGE TIME… isn’t that sweet?!
Cool thing about this place is they have A LOT of guns to rent! They have two facilities and a new one opening up soon. Very helpful people & if you want to try something out before you buy, this is the place to go.
Watch out, though — there are a LOT of novice & new shooters there & this place is almost always busy. Find time to go during the weekday, if you can.

Bang! Bang! Bang!
So a friend and I finally made it up here, after months and months of talk! Definitely an experience!
It was my first time shooting a real gun, and I had an idea of what to expect, but wasn’t exactly sure if it was accurate. I’ve played a lot of paintball and shot BB and pellet guns, but I knew this was going to be much different.
We went on a Saturday evening, and got there around 6. There was about a 45 minute wait for a lane, so we killed some time walking around the store. There are so many cool guns all over the walls. I was pumped when the guy behind the counter told me it was OK to handle some of the guns up for sale/​display! I’ve only held a gun on rare occasions, and being allowed to examine some up close was a lot of fun.
When our lane was ready, we spoke with the staff about what guns we wanted to shoot. We ended up with a .45 handgun and an ACR assault rifle, and 100 rounds for each.
I’ve watched plenty of TV and movies, so the basics of loading a firearm are ingrained, but the quick rundown by the shop guy was very useful. We got some targets and our shopping basket full of guns and ammo and went into the range.
The quick rundown was a little bit too quick for operating the target pulley system on the first attempt, but we figured it out.
The shooting part actually seemed very surreal. You have to stop and think in between trigger pulls that you are actually propelling a small piece of metal fast enough to kill something. Otherwise it just seems like a loud noise that makes a hole in a target.
Overall it was a very fun experience, and I will definitely be returning, possibly in the very near future!

I do not own a gun. No one is my family wants anything to do with guns. However, a few years ago a friend’s father took me shooting, and although I was totally petrified, it was kind of awesome — not in an adrenaline, «oh my gosh I can’t wait to kill people» way — but in a sporting sense — so, when Sisterwife and I get together, given her Texas upbringing, we go shooting, which is how I ended up at MFL on a Sunday afternoon — I knew we had found the right place when the trucks in the parking lot had plates like «gunzNH» and «glock» (type of gun, for my lovely San Francisco crowd) — needless to say, I have never seen Nathan so anxious, and that is including times when we have launched off cliffs together strapped to skis — so suffice it to say, I knew the afternoon was going to be a delight.
The gentlemen that were behind the counter could not have been more friendly and welcoming to a bunch of clear beginners (you don’t wear Jcrew and ballet flats to a range?!) — the sign-​in area is a clean, large room with appx 20 394 832 guns on display for purchase (and a walk-​in gun safe… which all NH homes should have, yes?) — and while we were waiting for our friends, they continued to check up on us to see if we had any questions. A+ customer service — note, they are all visibly packing heat, so if that freaks you out, you might be uncomfy, though I guess if you’re already at MFL, this probably isn’t you.
I would say that the crowd ranges from 10 year olds doing some intense «man training» with their dads to serious shooters who come in with their own supplies to boyfriends teaching their ladyfriends what a gun is – we waited for abt 40 min for our lane at noon on a Sunday, and there was a steady stream of customers, so plan accordingly. Catherine and I were not the only women there, nor was it über-​masculine feeling — though, putting on my Wellesley hat for a second, I was slightly offended (and by slightly I mean completely) that one of the targets you could buy was a zombie shopoholic… you should never, ever think of your significant other, regardless of whether she maxes out your Visa, as something you should EVER point a gun at. EVER. But aside from that — the lanes are clean and well ventilated, and there is a range safety officer on hand to answer any questions you have while you actually are holding things that could kill people.
We rented a 9 mm Luger and a .22 rifle — apparently I’m a Luger kind of girl (though I found that in terms of aesthetics, I am a Smith and Wesson lover) — the rifle looked crazy intense, but is very light weight and has zero kickback, thus, even I could handle it without being unsafe — nevertheless, there is something about crouching over something that explodes that makes me intensely nervous, but b/​c it’s so light, it’s also easy to forget that what you’re holding is a weapon, which I understand is necessary for people to use it effectively in combat situations, but does make my neurotic side flare up.
From my perspective of zero insight on what «good selection» is in terms of rental guns — they have a LOT of options — rifles, hand guns, machine guns, and something else I don’t remember — you can have two types of gun on a lane at a time, and can swap out as many times as you’d like — the boys next to us (who, upon walking in, I immediately said to Nath, I hope they shoot nowhere near us, so of course they ended up next to us) — had machine guns and some crazy powerful stuff — so it was a little nerve wracking b/​c I felt like they were a little more concerned with looking badass than making sure they were safe, which is, unfortunately, one part of the experience that you cannot control.
Nevertheless, would I return to MFL? Yes. Definitely. I felt safe, respected, and in control, which for me, is all that matters in this situation. For a handgun and a rifle, 4 boxes of ammo, 5 targets, earmuffs, and safety glasses, it was $ 210 — I think the lane is $ 16ish, and the guns were $ 30ish to rent — but you can also bring your own gear. Overall, if you’re thinking of touching a firearm, I would be comfortable encouraging anyone to do it at MFL, though perhaps get a lesson if you’re really freaking out, b/​c the 5 minute «this is a gun, this is how you load it» talk they do at the beginning is a little quick for beginners.

MFL is clean, easy to find, well-​ventilated, and organized. The staff are about the same amount of grumpy as anyone who works at any range tends to be. The lanes are well-​maintained and the electronic pulley systems are extremely convenient. The prices are reasonable. They hand you your guns in a plastic shopping basket. Basically, it checks all the boxes, but it’s still not my favorite range.
The whole experience was just a bit too sterile. It kind of gives you the vibe that you’re a cop in training, as opposed to the kind of freeing, natural feeling of being at an outdoor range. I’d come back in a blizzard or when it starts getting dark at 3pm, but in the meantime I’ll be at a sportsman’s club instead.
If you’re looking for a place to rent a gun to shoot, this seems like it may be your only option in southern NH, so 4 stars for that. They also have a good selection available for purchase, but they don’t let you test them out first which is a bummer.

MFL has a new facility diagonally across from the old facility. Saying it is a clean, well lit place would be faint praise. It is perhaps the cleanest, most well run, most well ventilated, modern range I’ve ever used. It can handle every common pistol and rifle caliber. Because of the state of the art backstop, there is no need to use frangible rifle rounds. Full metal jacket is fine. Members have their own section.
Self defense is a human right. Be willing to use it. Get some. Training that is.
Note: Be sure not to hit the ceiling of the range. They will charge you an extra $ 25 for damage.
