Lightopia is a retail lighting company with locations in Laguna Beach and Manhattan Beach California, as well as online at LightopiaOn​line​.com. We specialize in helping our clients with lighting solutions for any lighting problem! We exhibit the finest decorative and architectural lighting fixtures from around the world. Our highly trained staff specializes in architectural lighting design for both residential and commercial projects. Lightopia has a strong foundation of promoting Energy-​Efficient lighting through its Green Home Program. My husband and I came here looking for a chandelier last week, we were a little bit overwhelmed with the choices but Ken was a great help! He helped us find something beautiful within our price range! And now we are coming back to shop for some more lighting! I would recommend this place to anyone that thinks brick-​and-​mortar stores cannot be online shopping. After weeks and weeks spent online looking for something that my husband and I both love, I had almost given up! I figured a brick-​and-​mortar store would charge Waymore than online, I was wrong! They worked with online pricing and beat any advertise pricing!

If I would have rated this place after our first visit it would have been 5 stars, but luckily I didn’t rate it then. We ordered a light from here and we’re told it would be about a week. I finally got an email 2 weeks later saying they had just sent the order in, and I finally picked it up almost a month later. I had been promised to get enough wire to hang the light when I came. Guess what, the guy that was there didn’t even go back to look for it. He said to come back tomorrow and it would be there. I guess I’m in my way to Lowe’s or home depot, so I can actually hang the light. A perfect example how a good impression can be destroyed the very next visit. Not 1 star, because the other salesman was excellent, but this guy could not have cared less that he had a customer there. Its not like they even have a huge selection, they order online, which we would have done, but we wanted to give them our business. Never again!

Met Kenneth V. a while back when we were first shopping for light fixtures. He was very helpful and showed us a bunch of different models. Even though we didn’t buy anything at first, he was still very nice to us. The store is worth checking out as there are many beautiful fixtures. Most of them were pricey, but there were many affordable ones around as well.
We ended up buying a floor model chandelier which we had a minor issue with. Kenneth, Bernice (from the Laguna store), and Perris were all very helpful and resolved the issues very quickly. We were very happy with our purchase.

Last night I brought my electricity-​sucking light bulbs to Lightopia for help in switching to high-​quality, lower-​energy LED bulbs. As soon as I walked in, the salesperson Erica greeted me with the smile. When I explained what I wanted, Erica took notes and then called over Ken, the expert, to guide my decisions. Look, I’m no designer or light genius, so Ken gave me the short and sweet explanation — with clarity and kindness. He also special-​ordered 4 bulbs for me at no additional charge, because these were less expensive and and better suited to what I needed. Ken also gave me statistics showing that the payback on the investment of good, LED bulbs compared to the old bulbs would take only 1 – 2 years when you factor in savings on the electric bill. Meanwhile, two people-​friendly dogs gently took turns nuzzling my hand. If you are a DIY person, more power to you and Home Depot. If you need friendly, expert guidance then definitely check out Lightopia and ask for Ken.

Shocking customer service. After over 6months waiting for 2 custom light fixtures, there are numerous problems. There is no thought, checking or care put into the order. When trying to fix the issue, the rep is extremely dismissive and rude — feel like I have put him out.
I wish I had never ordered from Lightopia.

After searching several disappointing stores, we finally made it to Lightopia. Super helpful staff, awesome selection at reasonable prices and they have dogs. Which really sealed the deal. How can you not love a store that has dogs?

Thank you, Perris (sp?) for your great service! I was hesitant to stop by the store looking for mere hard to find light bulbs, but am glad I did. Your inventory of fixtures is beautiful, but alas, I just needed some bulbs. Despite my small request, you gave me the attention I needed and solved my little problem — and not only didn’t gouge me, but charged me the same price as I found on Amazon — instant gratification! I will come here first when I am ready to buy new fixtures. Thank you!

Im in the customer service business so it’s important to me to really feel that genuine customer service experience. Lightopia in Manhattan has an amazing sales team and clearly Id love to HAVE all the lights in their SHOP !!
The staff is very knowledgeable and if they dont have what Im looking for they will find it !! It’s quite impressive the owner takes interest in out of country buying trips, i like that!

For those with discriminating taste when it comes to their lighting needs, Lightopia is a wonderful choice. Their selection of fixtures is incredible. From high end to unique, modern to classic — they really do cover the entire spectrum.
While I’ve spent most of my time at the Manhattan Beach location, I can say that both stores have wonderful customer service. Ken has an energetic and personable demeanor not to mention a passion for lighting that, after speaking with him, I learned goes back to college.
It’s absolutely amazing what a difference the right lighting /​bulbs /​fixtures can make to a room and the folks at Lightopia will help you do just that — all with a smile.

I find this store to be refreshing from a number of standpoints. First of all, they have an assortment of merchandise that is focused in terms of quality and design. If you’re looking for sophisticated lighting fixtures AND design input that is focused on transitional and contemporary lighting — AND — you want quality that ranges from good to excellent, this store is for you. Add to that the staff is knowledgeable and willing to leave you alone to browse. They also have touch screen monitors mounted on the walls of the store that are linked to their website — so you can browse broader assortments of color, finish and fixture options they don’t have room to display in this modestly sized store. The parking lot can be tricky to get in and out of … but this is a great store for sophisticated buyers. A+
