Manhattan Beach Farmers Market

What a cute little farmers market! I guess I lucked out yesterday because they’re only here on Tuesdays.
I love all the nice variety of stands. You’ve got some ethnic food, veggies, fruits, flowers, etc. Lots of stands offer free samples, score! My son loved all the fruit stands. Prices are a little high, but I like to believe that I’m paying for better quality. One place that stood out the most was Dave’s. I guess it’s «Korean» food, but it’s more Asian Fusion, IMO. I was really impressed with their Veggie Broth. It packed a lot of flavor. I purchased a half gallon for $ 12. I also purchased their Tempah. Even my kids loved it! I will definitely come back.

I love the farmers market! It’s a must every Tuesday. It’s very small but I don’t usually go to shop, more of anything it’s better if you have children so they can go on the train ride, dance, play and have lunch outside. Everything is very expensive for a farmers market, hot food is no exception to this! Pupusas are a big hit so if you order those prepare to wait 20 – 30 minutes.

This is a pretty small market — I come here for the pupusas. Fun to people watch the summer.

Heads up for anyone looking to score some fresh produce: there are maybe three produce stands, and today none had a single fresh tomato.
Did see a couple of fresh fruit tables.
However, this appears to be a good destination for those looking for a hot meal.
Plenty of that.
The farmer’s stuff, you know like in the name «Farmer’s Market,» not so much.

I look forward to this market every Tuesday… its eye candy and taste bud tantalizing. I always pick up fresh flowers for my office from JR Organics and they are so fresh they last the entire week! Arnett Farms is my next stop for pluots, apples and whatever else is in season (they sample everything). I always wiz by Healthy Butter to satisfy my addiction to his nut butters. GEEZ, they are so delicious. My personal fav is Berry Freak but Crack Butter is also tasty and lives up to its name.

The area is really nice. I can walk to it from my home with the kiddos. It’s super kid friendly thanks to the cho cho train. I love the popusas and the chicken kabobs. Minus 1 star because a lot of the things from the vendors are overpriced.

This is a small, neighborly farmer’s market. It is about the size of the Hermosa Beach farmer’s market, a tad smaller than the Redondo Beach farmer’s market and only a third the size of the large Torrance farmer’s market. Offerings are standard, with emphasis on organic produce. Being in Manhattan Beach, it’s more expensive than what you’ll find inland.
What makes this farmer’s market unique is how kid-​friendly it is. There is a train that kids can ride — it makes loops around the adjacent plaza. A face painter is available while you wait your turn on the train. The plaza itself includes a water statue /​fountain that kids enjoy climbing on and splashing in. Usually, a musician plays music kids can dance to. The new Manhattan Beach library is next door and has a kid-​friendly reading area with toddler toys and interactive kiosks about sea life.
Of course, this farmer’s market belongs to nannies, kids and pregnant ladies. It’s overrun by them. You’ll be hard pressed to find shaded seating.
Best lunch can be made using a freshly pressed seafood pupusa from a food stand, seaweed salad from the natural Asian food booth and a ripe white peach from the produce vendor with the largest samples table.
5-​minute walk to the Manhattan Beach pier. If you are looking for a view, this farmer’s market is a few blocks from the ocean and has strained views of the water. The Redondo Beach farmer’s market may be more of what you’re looking for — the farmer’s market is hosted in a lot just above beach bluffs.

It’s a nice little farmer’s market, nothing particularly special except that it’s near the beach. Parking is atrocious – tried the Metlox Plaza structure with no luck and ended up parking on a side street and walking there. Same produce stands, kettle corn, fancy vinegars, food stalls, etc that most FM’s have, just fewer of them. Very family friendly with face painting, etc. I got a Greek salad with a chicken kabob; it was ok but the chicken was dry (overdone).

Tuesday Afternoon is the big day here in Manhattan Beach. You can find all sorts of organic yummyness.
Greek Booth with lots of vegan and gluten free options. Amazing hummus and olive oil and cheeses imported from Greece.
Flowers that will make your heart sing.
I love all the vendors that come here. I wish it was open every day. Unfortunately it is only on Tuesdays !

Very small neighborhood market with a good amount of organics and friendly vendors. The organic strawberries from Escondido are amazing right now. There’s also entertainment for little ones and various food vendors. Public restrooms are clean and close by.
Parking is available in adjacent public lot.

A very kid-​friendly FM with decent organic fruits and veggies. There’s a flower vendor, fresh eggs, grass fed beef, seafood, olive oils, bakery items, chocolate, and a balsamic vinegar vendor to name a few. There are several prepared food vendors to choose from if you’re looking for a quick lunch (rotisserie chicken, tamales, falafels, papusas, kettle corn, burgers, crepes, sorbet).
Love Dave’s Korean with all his vegan/​vegetarian options. My favorites are the spicy tempeh, spicy daikon, BBQ tofu, pickled cucumbers, and seaweed salad. He gives plenty of samples and you’ll want to buy everything you try so bring some serious dough. At $ 6 a pop, it adds up fast!
The fresh chips and salsa vendor that is in the middle section is so delish. They have about a dozen varieties, all are fresh, range from spice levels and chunkiness. They have this one salsa that has chunks of quest fresco in the middle… to.die.for! They sell out of that one fast so you must get there early to snag that one.
For the kiddos, there’s a train that circles Metlox Plaza, a face painter, balloon animals, and the fruit sample stand that the kids swarm like bees.
Make sure to bring your reusable bags since MB is very Eco-​friendly and you can carry so much more in those sturdy little totes.

I was anticipating a fabulous farmer’s market… This place isn’t spectacular.

As for food, your options here are pretty limited. I am a huge fan of the farmer’s market in Torrance where they offer delicious Thai food. I’m sad to see that they don’t have it here.
I’ve gotten a watermelon juice here before $ 5 which wasn’t as sweet or ripe as I wish it’d be. All of my coworkers are a huge fan of the Korean Gourmet vendor where they sell delicious Korean side dishes for a ridiculous price. A small tin of tempeh is about $ 6.
It’s good for kids though. They have a little train that takes them around the Metlox Plaza.

One of my favorite farmers market in the south bay. It’s the best place to get fresh shitake and oyster mushrooms (pack your own mushroom bag verses buying the premade ones which have too many cremini), various types of sausages (portuguese is my favorite!), cabbage & turnip kimchee, fresh eggs, organic chicken, sweet tomatoes, glorious fruits etc etc etc. The roasted chicken is moist and to die for and can be ordered whole or cut into pieces for a quick lunch. Gourmet pasta, olive oils and jams add a nice touch to the choices at the farmers market. The only tough thing is that the Manhattan Beach Farmers Market is every Tuesday of each week, which makes it a little hard to get to for those of us who have a Mon-​Fri 8−5pm work schedule.

Typical farmers market stands… you got your Mediterranean, such as Greek salads, shish kabobs, pita chips and hummus. There’s also some Latin choices, like burritos, quesadillas and pupusas. A bit on the pricey side but you get what you pay for… I haven’t tried anything that I would say is «overpriced». Its good quality stuff so its all good! Lots of colorful produce and the inviting smell of sweet, warm kettle corn! You can never go wrong spending some time at ANY local Farmers Markets!

This a great farmers market for toddlers and little children! I saw a ton of moms and nannies here juggling kids and trying to navigate amongst the sea of strollers! So much for the little ones to enjoy… the food, live music, train rides, face painting and balloons! I noticed quite a few veterans brought picnic blankets as seating is quite limited. My kids and I spent a couple hours here and we had a great time! We got some fresh watermelon juice and pupusas that were delicious! Keep in kind it did take almost 25 min for them to make them.
The market is on the small size but given the location I can’t imagine anything bigger. There is a metered parking structure across the way and some street parking. Read all the parking signs to avoid a ticket.
I look forward to come back. Not so much to shop for produce but just to grab lunch and let the little ones play!

You get your typical vendors here as with most farmers markets:
— veggies
— fruits
— fresh fish (seafood)
— fresh juices
— flowers, etc etc
— lots of free pluot, plums and nectarines samples (nothing better than Wholefoods or Trader Joe’s)

I don’t like to eat from the food vendors unless there are of course, food trucks or fresh oysters stand (as they have at Santa Monica farmers market).
Summer hours are between 11am — 5pm.
I park at the 2-​hour metered structure down the street. It’s often a nightmare to drive around that corner looking and waiting for spots to open up. Be careful.
Overall there is nothing really unique here but you can get your basic grocery needs.

My fav farmer’s market for organic choices around! Also great for flavored olive oils (lemon, white balsamic, peach, rosemary) excellent for salads! There are also many vendors there so you can grab lunch. A few are Rotiserre chicken, greek food, lobster rolls, crepes, kettle corn, salsas, hummus and more! Check it out if you haven’t before! Also, not as crowded as Santa Monica and easy parking!

This is our weekly Farmer’s Market. There is easy parking in the underground structure right next to the market. If you don’t like kids in strollers, this is not for you.
The focus is on gourmet food and I love it!
The pluot vendor is amazing. My hubby always stocks up. They have a plethora of samples to partake in.
The Afghan bolani is delicious. We take advantage of the buy 4 get 1 free deal. The cilantro pesto is yummy!
The Baba foods three layer dip is divine. We buy it 6 at a time and use it in everything. It is delicious with chips, of course, but is also so good on pasta, salads and eggs. We eat whole containers of this stuff. The vendor gives us a tiny discount since we consume so much of his offerings.
The Korean food place is very good and nutritious. My baby likes the BBQ tofu. The hubby and I like the spicy tempeh, burdock, lotus, and tofu.
The balsamic vinegar vendor is so good. Try the raspberry vinegar with lemon oil. Amazing!
We often stock up on kettle corn, avocados, peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, green onions, tomatillos, broccoli, cauliflower, etc…
The people are super friendly. Perfect place to bring your little ones.

The Manhattan Beach Farmers market is small, it is about a block long. Well a big block long, with vendors on every corner. I was able to walk through it in less than ten minutes.
It was nice, but I didn’t really buy anything here. I guess it’s a great alternative to all the lunch places here. They were a ton of vendors selling food with a few selling produce.
I would come back here for lunch.
