Pilates is a mind/body exercise system originally created by Joseph H. Pilates in the 1920’s. Pilates uses equipment such as the Reformer and Springboard to guide and control the movements promoting alignment and lengthening throughout the body.
The best thing about Pilates is that it works for everyone. Whether you are an athlete or dancer looking to supplement your training, a senior combating osteoporosis or just trying to achieve longer, leaner muscle definition, Pilates is for you.

Established in 2013.
Balanced Pilates opened its first West Harlem location in November of 2013. In May of 2015, we are happy to announce the opening of our second location in Lower East Side.
