Dr. Monterosso is great! I’ve tried several dentist on the Upper East Side and he’s certainly the best. He’s always willing to take the time to explain and discuss options. I’ve had a few cavities filled and he does great work. The Office Manager is also great, Liz, any questions or concerns are quickly answered.

Dr. Monterosso and his entire staff are extremely easy going, happy, and comforting to be under the care of. I had one of my wisdom teeth extracted as well as 2 cavities filled and a chipped tooth redone. During my very first appointment Dr. Monterosso was able to take X-​rays and remove my wisdom tooth, I was in and out of their office within 20 minutes feeling much better than expected. I was feeling 100% within ¾ days. Two weeks later I returned to have my cavities and chipped tooth fixed, only took 30 minutes! Everything went as smoothly and painless as expected both times. The night before I had my second appointment, I didn’t get one bit of that «dreadful dentist appointment» feeling!!! He works carefully and quickly without rushing. He walked me through each step, told me what to expect and what was going on. Him and his staff are both extremely respectful and gentle. I couldn’t be happier! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND him to anyone who has fears or is timid to get work done like myself. I’ve avoided dentists for years and definitely don’t feel like I have to any more. Thank you so much Dr. Monterosso & your entire team!!!

I would give 6 stars if I could. Dr. M fantastic! Thorough, caring, trustworthy, the consummate professional. Always willing to take the time to explain and discuss options; he truly cares about his patients. I moved out of Manhattan months ago but more than willing to deal with the traffic to see one of the best dentists around. Also something should be said about his accommodating and lovely staff!

Dr. Monterosso is the best dentist I ever had! He is so loving and gentle at the same time so meticulous and competent. It is so hard to find someone that has the clinical/​technical skills and also people skills. He is a great listener and accomodates accordingly to create comfort and safety for the patient. He sets the new standard on what makes a great dentist.
Also, Christina, the hygienist, I highly recommend as well. So loving and meticulous. You hardly feel the pain (if there is any) because her love and gentle caring melts it all.

This time yesterday I was terrified by my upcoming visit to the dentist. Tonight I couldn’t be happier after my appointment with Dr. Monterossa. He and his whole staff are the best! Friendly, flexible, and pleasant. But, the best part, the Dr and hygienist staff are excellent at their work. And, it’s all pain free! On time! No over-​treatment. All together perfect.

I’m so thankful for finding Dr. Monterosso. I’ve been to plenty of dentist and haven’t fallen in the hands like someone like him/​his staff/​office. From the initial contact, calling and speaking with his wonderfully kind receptionist Liz, I knew this was going to be a great office. I had to figure things out with my insurance and she assisted my the entire way. I went to a previous dentist, who did work on my tooth, which caused for me to be in endless discomfort and pain. This lasted for over a month that finally I couldn’t handle it anymore (since the previous doctor wasn’t confident he could fix it and I was already traumatized to go back) so I called Dr. Monterosso’s office, since I saw the great reviews online, and was able to schedule an appointment asap as a new patient. He took xrays and saw what was causing the problem and fixed it the same day! Genuinely refreshing to have a doctor who cares for his patients and takes endless amount of time to make sure everything is taken care of the right way. He is extremely knowledgeable, professional, and answers all questions. You can feel that he loves what he is doing which makes you feel very comfortable and trust him. On top of that, his office is extremely clean which I think is very important. I highly recommend him to anyone who may need his services and will be referring people to him! I’m not one to write reviews but just had too because he really deserves it and I’m beyond happy!:) Great experience at his office and looking forward to using his services in the near future. Without hesitation I can say you are definitely in good hands with him!

Best dentist in Manhattan .Dr Monterosso is an excellent dentist. He cares about his patients and let’s you know what to expect during your appointment so there are no surprises. He makes sure no matter what is being done that you are comfortable and pain free.
He follows up after appointments to make sure there are no complications and you are feeling well.
It’s a personal touch that is often missing from medical profession today!
The office staff are very helpful when it comes to navigating insurance as well.

A recommendation from a friend led me to the discovery of the best dental office in the city! Appointments are swiftly made by the helpful assistance of the receptionist Liz. The hygienist did a great job with my cleaning and was very gentle throughout the process. Dr. Monterosso makes you feel at ease with a thorough explanation of every step making sure you are as comfortable as possible during each procedure. The entire office runs very smoothly and upon entering you are always well taken care of during your visit. Highly recommended and conveniently located around the corner for train access.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Moterosso since I moved to NYC about 2.5 years ago. I previously had lots of prosthodontic work done to reconstruct my teeth following a bad accident, and I don’t trust just any dentist as a result of that whole ordeal. My prosthodontist in DC (where I used to live) referred me to Dr. Monterosso and I’ve been a happy patient ever since.
Dr. Monterosso is friendly, patient, and understanding, and his entire staff is fantastic as well. They use an ultrasonic scaler for cleaning (I think that’s what the tool is called), which I find to be MUCH more pleasant (and faster) than traditional hand-​held scaling. I highly recommend Dr. Monterosso!

Dr. Monterosso is amazing, along with his lovely staff they are wonderful and make you feel right at home. I recently removed my wisdom tooth they made it a smooth and easy process. I tell you i am not a fan of visiting the dentists but after going here which was a recommendation from my coworkers it has been an absolute pleasure and everytime i visit im never scared because i know im in good hands. I recommend friends and family to visit and everyone else stop in you will have an A+ experience.

Dr. Monterosso is amazing! I’ve been to many dentists and he is by far the best. I chipped my crown during the snow storm and in a panic, emailed him. He responded right away and got me in first thing when the office opened. I had such peace of mind knowing that it would be taken care of ASAP. So happy to have him as my dentist. He explains things thoroughly, is kind and attentive! I totally trust him!

My review is long over due but better late than never!
I, like the majority of people, have a huge fear of dentistry so I turned to Unilocal when it was time to find my dentist (I recently moved here from Texas). I read the reviews and they were so relatable to how I initially feel about going to the dentist so I gave Dr Monterosso a shot! It was the best decision I’ve made !! Him and his staff are absolutely amazing! They really make you feel welcomed, comfortable and accommodate you as much as possible. He even put some headphone on me while he performed one of my fillings to distract me from all the noise.
I’ve gone back numerous times and I recommend him to my friends and colleagues. Seriously! Go! You will be so pleased. Liz is the office manager and she will give you all the information you need and she is one of the nicest persons I’ve met here.

I have had enough dental care in my life to know that Dr. Monterosso is excellent. He is kind and personable and his staff are also wonderful. His work is detailed and efficient and I completely trust him which puts me at ease in the dental chair. He was patient to explain everything to me and has my best interest in mind. I appreciate his good work and his honest, compassionate manner. I highly recommend him because having dental work done right can be hard to find and is such an important long-​term investment.

When I tell you that Dr. Monterrosso is the best dentist in New York, I am lying– he’s the best in the business! I came to Dr. M after another dentist tried to scam me for invisilign, charging me almost 3 times what was necessary and Dr. Monterrosso not only took over my case quickly, but found the most cost-​effective (yet still effective) way to do my program. He was so understanding and funny, professional and highly skilled that I really began to wish he would also double as a primary care physician. He’s just that good.
His space is so clean and welcoming, not scary or clinical at all. His staff is also incredible and supportive and all of them have a wonderful bedside manner (I should give them a co-​pay after all of that therapy).
He’s also really very transparent, kind and patient. He has done dental work on me (a filling) and that usually sends me straight to panic-​land, but he was so gracious, funny and careful with me that I barely flinched.
I really look forward to my visits and feel as though he’s one of those old school Norman Rockwell doc’s who cares more about the patient in front of him than how much money they bring in. I will never go to another Dentist again and highly recommend him to anyone and everyone.
He is the real deal (and as good as it gets)!
Oh, and PS, I have seen his filler and botox work and it’s awesome.

I am very dental phobic after some really bad experiences years ago, so when I needed an emergency tooth extraction recently I was nervous about going to someone new. My mom recommended her dentist, Dr. Monterosso. Obviously I trusted her recommendation because she’s my mom, but also because she knows about all the traumatic experiences I’ve had with past dentists. She knew I needed someone who was patient and empathetic and would walk me through each step of the process. And she was right. Dr. Monterosso is a rare breed of dentists and I’m happy to have found him. If you’re looking for a new dentist or you need surgery or an implant and you want someone who is competent and kind then make an appointment with Dr. Monterosso. You’ll be happy you did!

I called last minute with a terrible toothache in a tooth I knew probably needed to be extracted. Liz was so helpful and able to get me in that day, only a few hours after I called. I had not been to a dentist in awhile for fear of pain, and I’m so sorry I didnt find Dr. Monterosso sooner. He knew I was nervous and talked me through all my options, and let me know if at any point I was uncomfortable or felt pain, he’d stop. I had my tooth extracted with zero pain, and felt a million times better even after the novacaine wore off — I barely needed ibuprofen. He even called me that evening to make sure I was ok — big plus in my book! I am actually looking forward to going back and getting other stuff taken care of — even if I didnt live on the UES I’d travel to see Dr. Monterosso — its so hard to find a dentist you feel comfortable with.

You know you’ve found a keeper when not only the dentist is amazing but his staff is exceptional as well. The entire team will go above and beyond to make sure that your dental needs are met. I’ve been in numerous times for cleanings, check ups and even oral surgery and know that I’m in good hands. I’ve never been happier that I’ve found a dentist I can trust and who does a phenomenal job.

Dr. Monterosso has incredible bedside manner. He walks you through every step of what he is doing during a checkup, and gives you instant feedback about your dental health. He is funny, relaxed, and easy to talk to. I have had dentists in the past who rush through exams and treat you like they are doing you a favor. Monterosso was the opposite, I actually enjoyed a dentist visit!
Can’t recommend him enough. The staff, the office, all 5 stars.
