We are located in the heart of Chelsea which is a major hub of the New York art world, with many art galleries and cafes. I take pride in being part of this neighborhood and being associated with the absolute best in the storage industry. Brent was excellent today helping me with the Storage Taxi! This is the best part of having a Manhattan Mini Storage unit. Not only did Brent help with quite a lot of boxes full of heavy books, he helped me get everything up to my storage unit. Then, the real help began and he actually figured out the best way to organize my boxes and other random items! Finally, he helped get bulky furniture items out of the unit which I no longer wanted. I honestly wouldn’t have been able to do it without him! Thanks Brent — I hope I see you again! (Mara Festoff)

They are friendly, it’s easy to get a unit, the space is clean and if you live in Manhattan it’s probably easy to move in. If you don’t, none of their free services are available to you. On the website and chat they say that they are, but call first. And ask for every possible charge when you call, so that there will be no surprises at the desk. The price they quote you is not what you’ll pay when you get there. And make sure you bring the email with the quote so you have proof.
I was happy with them until I showed up with my stuff, and found the reservation agent had forgotten to actually put in the reservation and the space was gone. The agent spent (no joke) 20 minutes staring at her computer wondering what to do. I’m no business woman, but perhaps honor the reservation price with another unit? Then, while you’re signing the lease, standing there with all your stuff, THEN they tell you that you’re forced to purchase their insurance — or, of course, you can go back home with all your boxes and seek another option. Oh, and to get the $ 10 rebate for AutoPay? You were supposed to bring a cancelled check if you wanted that. Don’t you carry your checkbook, she asked me?
All-​in-​all, since I couldn’t walk out I took the unit, and it was a fairly easy thing to get at the last minute, although it took well over an hour for the agent to get everything sorted and give me the keys. After several phone calls and much haggling, I kind of got the price they quoted me. They’re not bad, but next time, I’ll look elsewhere.

My experience with this manhattan mini storage location was by far the best of the 3 years I’ve been storing in manhattan mini storages! Donna in the office was an incredible help the entire time and really made the moving in and moving out process smooth and effortless. Her hospitality was exceptional.

I lived in NYC until August and decided to travel abroad for a while so i left my stuff here. They were so helpful setting up my unit and the logistics for moving. When I decided I was not coming back to NYC and staying abroad, they were equally as helpful with my move out even though i did it from 6000 miles away! I was not able to move out myself, but they were so very attentive with my getting a friend and movers to come.
they are so personable as well.. and i felt very comfortable that my stuff was safe!

I have had a business storage unit here over two years and have nothing but positivity to express. The employees here are courteous, respectful, and most of all professional. Marlon, Alberto, & Antonio aka Tony run a tight ship and make sure your deliveries and units feel safe. I was here during Hurricane Sandy, and glanced on how hard they worked to maintain the place up and running. Larry is the muscles and have helped me with any physical need I may need. I appreciate this team a lot and I am sure you will too. I would recommend this place over any storage facility in the tri state area.

Pretty smooth vacate. Although the storage taxis were completely busy, I moved out okay. Shoutout to Kay for being so friendly and helping me out! She made the checkout simple and made sure I wasn’t paying any unnecessary bills. Thanks Kay!

I had a storage unit here last year. They definitely lured me in to get a unit by offering attractive prices. When they did not have the room I had originally booked, they offered me a bigger room, definitely good.
After a month, I got a call that my originally requested room is now available so I should move my stuff to that one. I agreed and moved to the storage unit in the basement, that was one of the biggest mistakes. When Sandy happened, the whole basement was flooded. They did not take any effort to notify customer of potential damage to their building before Sandy. My books, gifts, Home theater system everything was ruined. It still brings tears to my eyes when I think about all the stuff I lost during that flood. They did not help at all with respect to cleanup. They gave us masks and told us that you will go downstairs on your own risk. They did not reimburse for any damages. The rental insurance company also did not do anything. Suddenly I had lost my belongings that I had cherished. I would not recommend Manhattan Mini Storage to anybody.

So after a great storage taxi pick up, we get to this location and apparently the reservation that had been arranged over the phone was for an occupied unit. Before I even had the chance to freak out over the mixup, Tony at the office was quickly finding solutions for me, and I got a bigger unit, while honoring the lower price that was originally arranged.
Excellent service with a smile, completely non-​stressful process, more than makes up for the creepy basement unit I ended up with.
Btw, apparently they check your credit history? Did not know that. Would have appreciated a heads up.

Storage locker visits are generally not the most ‘looked forward’ to in one’s life, usually generating an involuntary ‘eye-​roll’ or two.
However I have to say that my experience with Manhattan Mini Storage has been quite exceptional, and that is because their sales associate Kim at the front desk for the last two or three years has always been so warm, charming, accommodating and just plain awesome. :)
Kim McIntosh has always managed to put a smile on my face, whether I am moving in all my stuff because I lost my apartment, broke up with my boyfriend, or have a past due balance beyond belief. Somehow she finds a way to make everything work out, and is patient beyond belief (I know I can be a handful I can just imagine everyone else)
If it wasn’t for people like Kim, the visit to Manhattan Mini Storage would be pretty blah… thank goodness for people like her :)

This location is actually down the block almost at the corner of 11th ave next to a night club. I’ve had the best experience there which started with Kim McIntosh! That place would not be what it is without her! She’s been an incredible asset for me there. She’s been very concise & clear with any changes that I needed to know about. She really treats that facility like her own business, very rare in customer service these days. Always very sweet & smiling too. I’d Love to see someone like that in management & taken very good care of. In general I’ve been very happy with everyone there especially when the manager on duty told me about changing my lock from a combination to a key lock after they found out there were videos on You Tube to open them.

Found this Manhattan Mini Storage location originally on Unilocal.I picked it because it’s close to my apartment and perfect for storing stuff for my business. The space is clean and easy to access via a freight or personal elevator, pretty similar to other storage places, but it’s really the employees that make this location so great.
I spend a lot of time moving things in and out of storage and from day one, these guys have been nothing but helpful, making things so easy and stress-​free. I’ve never had to wait long for someone to take me up in the freight elevator and they’ve even helped me lug some of my carts on and off the elevator in a pinch. Their customer service is the best! In a huge city, it’s nice to find a place where they remember you and go out of their way to help.

After I wrote my previous unfavorable review of my experience with this Manhattan Ministorage, the manager contacted me via email to see what he could do to rectify the situation. I was very pleased that he was open to fixing what went wrong before.
When I spoke to him on the phone, he agreed to give me a credit for my first month’s rent for the unit. I thought this was a good solution and I feel comfortable giving this business a positive review. Even if the staff erred in the check in and in other areas, management did behave properly in trying to come to an amicable solution to compensate me for the staff’s missteps.
