My Suit

I purchased 6 suits at different price points from 2 different locations. 4 of the suits started coming apart after 8 months; hems unraveled, buttons fell off, and the inner jacket lining started to tear. In order to have the issues fixed, the company needs to send the suits back to Mexico and I have to wait at least 3 days to get the suits back. Although I understand that the company needs to do this to save money, it is a lower level of customer service than even the Men’s Warehouse that has a tailor at their locations. Will be going using another custom suit clothier going forward to have better quality and better service. To be fair, the front end service was always great..

Pros: Stuart is a true professional and fantastic at his job. He fit me perfectly and gave me the time and attention I hoped for. I feel bad that my review is 2 stars when he deserves 5.
Cons: Had an issue with a previously purchased suit. Unfortunately, management was unable to make any accommodations for me. There was a difference of opinion as where the fault lied in the issue. There are other complains below with the suits quality. I have found that their solids are longer lasting than the patterned ones. My experience has taught me to stay far away from the herringbone styles.

Suit pants ripped within 5 wears of the suit. Working with store to fix. Disappointed with quality.

I tried most retail stores to buy a suit, finally i was told by my friend about mysuit store on Broad St. The gentleman that helped me was (Miguel Or Carlos, spanish guy) never gave up,
till i find the best fabric, the best design all those custon features!!! Hell of a job.

Kris Kato is the man! I was skeptical coming here; I’m very happy that I did. I now have a couple new perfect fitting suits at less than a ¹⁄₃ of the cost of my previous custom suits. I now refer all my friends to Kris.

I recently bought 3 custom suits and a shirt from MySuit in the Financial District. Kris did an exceptional job with measurements, fabric selection, and sartorial advice in the customizable options. He was attuned to my particular needs, and was very proactive in keeping me informed about the status of my order. Very friendly, courteous, professional, and helpful service. The suits fit well and are getting great comments from others when I wear them.

I bought from first item from MySuit and it was a tux. I couldn’t be happier with the results. If you go, ask for Kris Kato. He is a gentleman and a professional in every sense of the words. He’ll tailor you down to the T. I was a little sketchy about the whole process going in, but Kris walked me through everything, price-​wise and dimension-​wise. He was always on time for our appointments, always with a smile. I wore the tux to a wedding over the weekend and was told many times I was the best dressed guy in the room. Couldn’t recommend MySuit or Kris Kato any higher.

The prices here are great and I’m really happy with the final quality of the suit.

For tailored suits, you need to consider both the quality of the suit as well as expertise and dedication of the tailor. In both of these areas, My Suit — and especially Kris — goes above and beyond.
Two months before my wedding, my (now) wife and I met with Kris, who spent a great deal of time gathering accurate measurements. It did not seem like a long time, as we all had fun visiting and talking. All aspects of the suit were open to preference — from the angle of the pockets to the color of the inside fabric. The suit that you want it truly the suit that you get.
Unfortunately, between the first measurement and the first fitting, I literally lost one inch on my waist and backside. While this meant drastic changes to the pants, Kris was very good about making proper alterations, communicating how it affects the suit, and encouraging where I should focus on my weight gain to look best.
To complicate matters, with just days before the wedding, I lost ANOTHER half-​inch in my waist, meaning more alterations. Again, Kris remained calm and made sure to expedite alterations so that the already perfect suit would adapt to my changing measurements. Even on his day off, Kris met with me in Brooklyn the day before my wedding to make sure that the new alterations would fit well, which they did! I received many compliments on the suit and look forward to wearing it for years to come.
I cannot say enough about the quality of the suit or the professionalism and dedication shown by Kris. I would recommend My Suit for anyone for any occasion.

A colleague encouraged me to try My Suit, and I’m glad I did. Picked up a couple of suits and worked with Kris to get the sizing right. Kris is an artist — great attention to detail and flawless execution. The suits fit perfectly. This is my new place.

I’ve gotten a few suits from mysuit and all have turned out solid. Kris at the Wall Street location is particularly helpful. He’s very diligent in making sure your orders arrive on time and fit to your likings. Definitely worth seeking him out if you’re in the maket for a new suit.

I bought my first custom made suit from My Suit and I love it. Besides the great selection of fabrics and details — the best part of my experience was Kris Kato. He was great to work with and provided superb customer service. He helped me design my suit and kept in touch with me every step of the way. Kudos for a job well done.

My buddy purchased a My Suit for his wedding and said it was totally worth it. So I decided to take his advice for my upcoming (now passed) nuptials.
I purchased the suit at the Wall Street office. The experience was fine, easy to get fit and two weeks later the suit was ready for me to try on.
The pants were perfect. The jacket not so much.
A $ 50 off the rack suit would have fit better — it drooped, was uneven and didn’t fit like the glove I’d expected.
These stubborn creases around the jacket’s waist didn’t seem right to me and i asked about them. I was told they were just wrinkles and I should take the suit to a dry cleaner and they’d steam them out.
Hold up — I just spent $ 550 on a custom suit and told that I could take it to a dry cleaner to be pressed? Thats like asking someone to take their brand new BMW 5-​Series to the body shop to get some scratches buffed out.
Red flag.
They agreed to press the suit and make a few small adjustments. The next week I came back and the creases were still there and the jacket still didn’t fit right.
At this point my wedding was in 2 weeks and I was getting nervous.
All suits are sent to their Herald Square location so i decided to head there for them to fix the suit and cut out any transportation delays.
The gentleman who measured me there was very friendly and helpful. The suit came back — now it’s 3 days before my wedding it it looked even worse.
I sent it back again for more tailoring and rather than greet my guests arriving for my wedding, I stressed about the suit and picked it up 2 hours before the rehearsal dinner.
I appreciated they were able to tailor it so quickly but it still looked like crap.
At this point I was stuck.
I had no option but to take the failed suit and wear it at my wedding. They said bring it back and they’d fix it after.
So I wore it (unfortunately didn’t feel like a million bucks in it) and after the wedding brought it back for more repairs.
Bobby, the recently appointed manager at the Wall Street store was awesome. He saw the suit, how it fit and said they were going to make me a new suit.
Relieved, he remeasured me and off i went.
Then the phone rang — they were out of the fabric and could i come back in to pick a new fabric?
Bobby was great and I wish he’d been my tailor from the beginning but I’d already spent 15 – 20 hours trying to get a suit and decided thats it.

I wish I can give Zero stars.
I got new custom suit in July and fabric melted in one dry cleaning.
There is almost a whole on my back pocket and when I took it back MySuitNY rep IAN dares to tell me that it is on the spot which is covered by jacket so it won’t be visible.
They didn’t fix it or replace it and they didn’t have same fabric for me to order new pants. It seems that they buy CHEAPEST fabric available in the market. I will never go back again and will not recommend them to anyone.

Our friend who works in the area told us about this store when my fiancé and I were looking for a nice groom’s suit. We made an appointment and the salesman measured my fiancé for 45 minutes, down to the very last detail. During our second appointment, we picked out the fabric, lapel stitching, button hole color stitching, monogram, dress shirt, inner jacket pocket lining color and style… etc. We worked with 2 salesman and both were completely professional and multi-​tasked beautifully. I have a feeling we’ll be back again soon. Thanks for a great personal shopping experience!

Just got my custom 3 piece today. Got my suit in Navy, with light blue stitching, with plum lining. Took 3 weeks for the final product to come home with me but well worth it ($ 718 total after tax). I had my first fitting with Bobby 3 weeks ago. The meeting took around 45 mins — 1 hr (includes measurements, fitting, and fabric selection). Bobby was friendly and def. knew what he was doing. I returned 2 week later for my scheduled pickup/​second fitting. There were two minor alterations that needed to be made, which resulted in the extra week. I didn’t mind the extra wait and appreciated that they made the addt’l alterations so the suit will fit me perfectly. I plan to go back to get myself a few more suits (Grey, Tan, etc). I could see for some the price might be high, but personally, I rather pay a little extra for something that actually fits. The suits I see in Express, Banana, Kenneth Cole, etc never fit me; they are ether too large or too small.
Overall, I would recommend MySuitNy to those who are tired of off-​the-​racks suits. If you do go to the Wall St. store, make sure to ask for Bobby.

I heard about MySuit over a year ago and thought it was a pretty interesting way of getting a custom suit. For some reason or another I just decided to put it off and a year later, low and behold I need a new suit. I just happened to remember this place and decided to give it a shot.
So I made my idea of my preferred suit online and went to set up an appointment. One quick tip btw, if you try to set up an appointment online, you wont be able to make an appointment for the same day. If you do it by phone, you can call and see if they have any available that same day, which is what I did. The person on the phone told me to show up on time and I can see why. When you walk into the store, its going to be empty. For a saturday, they only have a single salesman in the store. Don’t get the wrong impression though, its the nature of the business. The salesman must have his complete attention on you for up to an hour for fitting and customizing your suit. He wouldn’t be able to handle multiple appointments at the same time or really much walk-​in business. The salesman isn’t just a salesman, he’s your personal guide to building the suit you truly want. I worked with Bobby when I was there. He was awesome, very cordial, extremely diligent, and very knowledgable. He’ll do anything you want to do with the suit but there are things he wants to make sure he gets right and he’ll make sure you know if there is something you should consider, like slight adjustments at the shoulder or thigh. This guy was good. I was standing in front of him in a polo and shirt underneath and in a few seconds he could tell I had one shoulder that was just barely higher than the other. Its true, I have a clavicle that is literally millimeters higher than the other one due to a fall and he picked up on it. He used this to adjust the suit just slightly to counterbalance my natural inbalance. Every step of the way Bobby made sure I got what I wanted. So after it was all said and done I spent around 700 for a custom styled suit, with more expensive fabric and a vest. The base suit is 500 something but I added some things. With the base suit you get all the custom options, the price only goes up when you want to make it a 3 piece suit, or you decided to use some of the high end fabrics. When you go online to customize a suit, it will tell you how much it is so you know what you are getting yourself into. I figured if I was truly going to get a suit made for me I might as well go all out. I believe once you have your measurements, you can go ahead and order additional suits online but I’m honestly not sure. I have yet to go for my post-​purchase fittings because I JUST got done being sized for it. I’ve heard you have to go back once or twice for adjustments. This should be expected and appreciated! If you spend that kind of money on a suit, you should be happy with it, and it should fit you well, don’t rush the process or you wont be happy with the results.
I gave this place 4 stars instead of 5 for some gripes I have. I don’t think this place is somewhere you could go if you’re looking for a steal. Its not cheap. Yes, a custom tailored 3 piece suit is worth 700 dollars but not everyone can afford something like that. Even the base suit is 500 and that is just a hefty penny to pay. Also, there are tons of starving tailors in NYC, this company could for sure make the suits here but alas they have given into the corporate demands of cheaper labor. Other than those two «gripes» I honestly really like this place. You can go to H&M or Filene’s Basement for a bargain suit but it will never be to your specifications or your preference. It will never fit you like a custom suit. I guess its up to you to decide if its worth it!
