‘Ther’s another review about a MeetUp group, but that’s been designated as a ‘Conversation’. So that this seems as the most pragmatic way to post this. They, The Company, are NYC-based and had their offices formerly on Lfayette Strt., before re-locating to Broadway above Houston Strt. Ostensibly, they began as a community page on the Internet, though years have proven that community to be of the virtual sort, with groups saying they have 1000’a of members, then the core dozen membs are only ever really there. Notwithstanding the numbers of them that have migrated elsewhere,.. say Google, Yahoo or even recently to Facebook. But this review has to do with their lack of community liason where specifically, there was a memb injured on an ‘event’ of a particular group and the MeetUp offices would NOT talk about the fact that the memb needed to talk with others from that group, even though they had been hospitalized with multiple injuries. They were waiting for the episode to get litigious before they would do what should have been the way that a ‘Community Organization’ would perceive those conditions. Yet they would not co-operate, would not intercede,.. and a full month elapsed before any communication between membs was possible, while efforts on part of Organizer of that group as well as the staffers at were consciously avoiding supporting the victimized member. They need to re-evaluate their position; and recent press releases about evesdropping on social pages predicates that they do that both for their REAL members,. .NOT the virtual sort,. . as well as for themselves.

First it is saddening to see no reviews of NYC Tech Meetup at the Skirball Center on Unilocal. That aside, the center is an awesome place for events and the NYC Tech Meetup(#nytm on Twitter) is no exception — it’s a huge space, it’s always packed and the people who attend are overall awesome. I recommend joining the group on and attending one of the events. I really really do :)
