Al the barber is my favorite barber out there. Hands down! Does exactly what you ask for and pays attention to every detail. I’m very picky with my beard so he already knows what to do and keeps the lines as tight as can be. He always makes you feel important in his chair. Boris is the reason why the place is called Perfections, because he is a perfectionist! He’s the Skipper of the place. He listens to all his clients and accommodates everyone to make sure they leave 1000% satisfied. You will get exactly what you want when you sit in his chair, an excellent haircut. I’m happy to say they are my favorite barbers and now good friends! This is a salon so no matter if you are a man or a woman you are in great hands and will definitely leave happy!

2 for 2 awesome cuts. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. Exceeded my expectations and went above and beyond to make sure it looked great. They were able to accommodate walk in appointments both times. Definitely going back, would certainly recommend it!

I will not be returning to this salon. Let me first say that this review is for the salon as a whole– Moshu was a good stylist and did a good job with my hair (wasn’t worth what I paid but he was very nice. Somewhat hard to understand with his thick accent and did make my hair look good and healthy again!).
Long Verision: No one called the day before to confirm my appointment for the next day. Then, when I arrived at my hair appointment the next day, I was told that my stylist no longer worked at their salon. I protested saying I had made this appointment less than a week ago and they informed me that he had just quit unexpectingly but that they were going to take care of me and get me a different stylist. KNOWING that I probably wouldn’t go somewhere else at that point (like most New Yorkers, I have a pretty intense schedule) I begrudgingly agreed to go with Moshu. The woman (Lisa) who washed my hair was nice as well, but she kept trying to get me to do additional services that I didn’t want. Then, when I went to pay, I told the manager how upset I was of how they dealt with the situation. He didn’t take any ownership and barely apologized – he only kept making excuses, kept telling me how great my hair looked now and this was ultimately MY STYLISTS FAULT for ‘my problems’. Then the man at the front desk (who he and the girl kept making me feel weird throughout my appointment by either sitting next to me and Moshu watching what he was doing or watching from afar) tried to charge me $ 15 OVER what I was told on the phone. I put my foot down and said I wouldn’t pay that fee. He was obviously perturbed by this answer but I told him truthfully that I had triple checked with the woman on the phone that it would not be over a certain amount. The manager who was near by, «let it go», but I left furious.
Short Version: Good haircut but not worth the money, Rude and awkward employees, My stylist didn’t even WORK there anymore and NO ONE told me before I walked in to my appointment, Tried to keep up-​charging me with additional hair treatments, Tried to charge me more than what I was told on the phone, Gave excuses for their bad customer service.
Not returning.

It was time to give our 2yr old another haircut. All the haircut places for kids with all the thrills charge $ 30 — $ 35. Those experiences were worth it for the 1^st couple of times, but I decided to be more frugal this time around, and tried this local shop for $ 20. Our son may not have been sitting in a firetruck or car and be surrounded by TVs and toys galore while getting his haircut, but Sariah (hope that’s spelled right) was perfect in her skills and demeanor, giving our son one of his best cuts with a little help from my phone playing Mother Goose Club as a good video distraction. While Sariah is still there, you can count on us going back.

This is the second time that I am going to this place and I just love it. I have the best haircut and highlight done in all my life. The place is very clean and the staff very nice and friendly. Also they are not to expensive because living in the Upper East Side can be a pain sometimes and the prices from other hair salons are just nasty. I would definitely recommend this new place.

This was my second haircut here, the first time was so pleasant and I liked the cut. This last time I was with a different stylist, who did a nice job on the cut, but was very pushy and constantly trying to sell me more services. It started with highlights (because my natural– that’s right completely natural never been dyed hair– was not right for my skin tone). This went on for a while which I refused multiple times. Then as the cut was finished, he began drying my hair with a. Round brush, I had to ask if he was doing a full blow out to which he responded yes «any time you get multiple inches cut you should also get a blow out to better aid the stylist.» He was going to continue drying my hair and charge another $ 40 – 50 without even asking me in advance! Completely unacceptable and for that I will not be returning.

Marina is an amazing hair stylist. I’ve been going to her for years. I’ve followed her from her previous salon to her current salon, Perfection Hair Salon (and will follow her wherever she goes!) If you need a great blow out, updo, cut and/​or color, ask for Marina.

Just had a shave here Tuesday and things have gotten a lot worse. They weren’t using any real moisturizer and I think the guy, who in the past had done a good job, was shaving me with a dull razor. My chin, jaw and neck were all cut up — literally cuts that havent healed days later. He also cut a mole on my face pretty deeply that’s now a scab. I was in real pain for the two days after my shave and here’s the worst part. It’s 3 ½ days later and I need a shave. It should be a good week after a razor shave. Bad job and for $ 26 I’m going elsewhere from now on. I think their problem is that since combining with a beauty salon they just don’t care about male customers. Oh well.

I live and work in the neighborhood. I stopped in without an appointment and was accommodated immediately. Did not wait at all. Prices are great too. Paid 25 $ and look great! Thank you Boris!

Great place for color! The team is friendly, helpful and always welcoming. My colorist Rita is wonderful. She truly is an artist when it comes to a single process or highlights. She is excellent at assessing your skin tone with what most flatters you. I constantly receive compliments on my color.

This is not just, or even primarily, as barber shop. The lucky owner recently hired a terrific group of hairdressers from a local salon which closed.
Marina is my absolute favorite — incredibly talented at color, specifically, and precision haircuts. I’ve been going to her for years, and always receive lots of compliments after a visit to Marina. She’s blessed with a great sense of humor and is very forthcoming about what will look best on you — not all hairdressers will be honest with you. She’s versatile and able to accommodate your needs. Love her!

The guy kept saying «whatever you say» when I asked for it to be shorter, which doesn’t exactly inspire confidence. $ 38 was too much. Didn’t have to wait.

Great service. Price is quite resonable. Service is nice. Got my haircut from Boris it looks great, even after a week it looks quite fresh. He is quite friendly and would consider every detail that you throw at him. Would definately be a regular there now.

I was a walk up at the Blo Dry Bar (bad idea). Customer service was lacking and I was Tired of waiting, I googled another salon in the area that could take me right away. I found this place!
Russian girl hooked me right up! I’m mixed with lots of curls and she blew it out with no problems.
I wish she would have used a heat protectant before drying.
Male stylist (Ricky maybe his name) was nice and funny

Great place to get a haircut. I’ve gotten my last 5 hair cuts here and they get you in and out and charge a fair price.

Arrived looking disheveled from two recent hospitalizations. Showed Boris a photo of how I used to look; described what I wanted him to do and he did everything I requested. Price was great, too. Boris had never heard the Who’s «Boris the Spider» from 1966:

Went for mani/​pedi today with Irina. She is top notch, so I don’t understand the bad reviews. Very reasonably priced and such a personal touch. She made my nails look really good and I enjoyed the experience.

Love my hair dresser here! Really reasonably priced and they always remember my name when I come back. Recently I went to get my hair cut and colored and all of the stylists worked together really well to ensure I had a pleasant experience. My stylist is usually the nice younger guy, he has a real understanding for hair and has always provided me with terrific guidance on cut and color. I will be back!

Went here for a manicure and blowout, after setting an appointment for 7pm. I was asked kindly while making the appointment to please be on time, so I made sure to rush and got there 10 minutes early. I was taken in right away for the manicure, which was fantastic. I can’t say enough good things about the girl who did it; I believe her name was Irina.
The blowout, however, was another story. The gentleman who did my hair seemed extremely aggravated that I was there, even though I had made an appointment. He ignored me, eating pizza and talking on the phone until almost 7:30 when I was done with my nails. While doing my blowout all I could smell was cigarettes. At one point he told me that he could get my hair curled how I wanted, but that it would take an «extra fifteen minutes» and that he was already supposed to be done for the day. That was also his excuse for answering the phone three separate times while doing my wash and blowout.
If the manicurist were to go somewhere else I would definitely get a mani/​pedi from her, but I would not return for any hairstyling.
