Sir Launcelot’s Painting

This guy is a total scam.
I found him on craiglist and needed him to do paining for my apt. He collected my payment via square ($ 100) to claim that he will «make it convenient and buy the paint for me». The next day he didn’t show up with paints, totally disappeared and couldn’t be reached in any ways. Basically he lied to me and stole my money. I had to call my credit card company to dispute the charge. This shameless guy even dared to send the square receipt to my credit card company and made my dispute process much harder. I eventually disputed the charge as fraud. This guy is an unbelievable lier. Do not hire him. Do not give your money out in advance. And apparently this has been a pattern for him. I wish I had read other reviews sooner. A complete scam.

Beware of this guy. He will take your deposit and not do the work. There was some back and forth about scheduling and I guess it didn’t work out for him and didn’t want to do it. Which is fine but you don’t take the deposit. That is pretty much stealing.
To Owner, if you message me here and return our deposit I’ll gladly remove this review.

Launcelot was on time, professional, genuine, kind, and real as it gets. I enjoyed not only his awesome personality but talent and quick timing in painting back my bedroom and living room to its originally color with precision. i was so comfortable that i left the apartment and just had him lock up. after having to throw out my ex boyfriend’s stuff he conveniently left for me… without a word Launcelot helped me carry all these heavy objects down without me even asking. I was so impressed and i’m happy to say he’s a friend for life.

Simply stated, do not use.
I contacted this painter to paint two small bedroom in the midtown area. He said he could do the job for a defined price for which we agreed to and provided a quote. He also said he got a 10% discount on paint and could purchase the needed paint for convenience. He requested a deposit which I agreed to and paid with square.
The date and time was agreed to for the paint job. I reached out the painter the morning of the service to confirm only to having no response. I went to the site and waited and waited and waited. I left the location after two hours of waiting and hearing nothing from him. I finally received contact and he stated that he forgot and could be there in the afternoon. I tried to change my schedule but could meet him. I asked for the time he could arrive and he stated that he would need get paint even though he had stated that he had ordered the paint previously. This would have resulted in me staying at the location for additional time. I told him that I would be willing to pay for the paint if he provided me with receipt of what he paid for it. He told me he paid $ 36 per gallon and two gallon ($ 72) plus $ 18 per quart and two quarts ($ 36) totally $ 108. I had checked at a paint store before to provide the paint color and was told it $ 26 per gallon.
I have contacted my credit card company to dispute the charge and let Mr. Launcelot Simon deal with them.
I am reviewing this in hopes that those looking for painters on craigslist are not taken advantage of as I was. I have learned my lesson and will check references in finding the next painter.
