I’m recommending Dr. Lee because he operated on my hand, specifically«trigger finger» of my left thumb. I had the same problem with the right thumb about 12 years earlier, when another local orthopedist performed the surgery. So I can compare the two orthopedists, and Dr. Lee is superior in every way. We decided to try a cortisone shot first, and even the way Dr. Lee administered the injection was less painful and more sensitive than the previous surgeon. The surgical procedure was also better — he used a sturdier cast and I didn’t develop an infection. The way he made the incision resulted in no scarring. Anyone comparing my two hands can immediately see the difference: same exact procedure, one with a scar, one without. Although it’s not required, Dr. Lee even pays attention to the little things. When we first met, I told him that I was a classical guitarist.(This was how I injured my thumb.) Several months later, when I was taken into the operating room, classical guitar music was playing! How awesome is that? For any orthopedic issue you have with your arms and hands, I would trust Dr. Lee to do the job perfectly. We’re lucky to live in NYC where we have access to the best, and IMO Dr. Lee is in that category.

Dr. Lee is an orthopedist specializing in the hand, wrist, forearm and elbow. He’s very skilled, meticulous and thoughtful. He knows the value of a quiet office where you don’t feel like you’re being rushed through on a conveyor belt. He patiently answers your questions, several times if need be, and explains your condition to you clearly. If you need a shot of cortisone, he anesthetizes the area first(this may sound obvious, but I’ve been subjected to cortisone shots into a tendon without anesthesia, and it’s not pleasant.) Dr. Lee operated on my left hand, after I had a similar surgery on the right hand done by a different surgeon. The contrast was striking. Unlike the previous doctor, Dr. Lee’s work left no scar and there was no infection to deal with afterwards. Dr. Lee is also not in a rush to cut you open. He wants to try the non-surgical options first. This is the definition of a good doctor, and he’s affiliated with a world-class hospital. If you need your hands or arms looked at, look no further.
