The Blue Store

So after buying my toy that didn’t work, I went in to exchange it (wasn’t a problem — things happen).
In an environment like this, I expect the staff to be knowledgable and professional. Instead, I was sexually harassed. Not only did the associate tell me what I did and did not need for my body (uh… You don’t know me) but he continued to hit on me, ask me the kinds of sexual experiences I tried, and then gave me his phone number on a business card saying «I like Italians … I’ll be waiting for your call — I want to play with you.»
ON TOP OF ALLLL THIS, I exchanged my purchase for something else and got home and IT DOESN’T EVEN WORK! So now I have to go back to this place I was humiliated to exchange ANOTHER item. Ridiculous.

I haven’t used anything I purchased yet, but my experience in the store was so smooth I had to write about it. I was skeptical going in here based on other reviews but it was such a pleasure. Security followed me for like a second & then left me alone. The guy that helped me was super sweet I wish I had asked his name to give him his props. Definitely would come in here again just off the service alone!

I have been to «The Blue, Chelsea «Adult Store located at 206 8^th Avenue many times and have gotten to know some of the staff very well and have even met the owner. The place is always Clean and Organized and the Staff is always excellent, Knowledgeable and Helpful in every aspect. They are located directly across from the Rainbow Station Store and I have personally compared prices and on many items that are identical The Blue Store is at least $ 10.00 or more less per item. So hands down any item they both have I have bought at The Blue Store,
And the Manager at The Blue, Chelsea store «Fernando «is Totally Hot and Sexy and someday perhaps I will get the nerve to actually ask him out or maybe he will see this and reply … to me at

The Blue Store has men’s underwear, toys, lube, aromas, and a video arcade. They’re right across from Rainbow Station. Compared to Rainbow Station they have a smaller selection and higher prices. Instead they give you a brighter more comfortable store where they’re willing to discount or negotiate prices. They also had some women’s sex toys which Rainbow did not.
Just like Rainbow Station the staff isn’t gay but there’s an extra floor guy that’s friendly and helpful.

Pros: The overall selection of items was amazing, and the way items were displayed was very well done.
Cons: I was shadowed by the sales clerk the whole time I was in the store I didn’t feel like I could really look at the merchandise while he was right behind me.

Feeling a bit discriminated against and will never visit this store again. Came in with another black couple to purchase a few things. I can’t believe that one of the store workers followed the 4 of us around the store the entire time or maybe I do believe it. A single white guy came in and he was greeted and not followed since I was paying full attention. The nerve to follow me & my friends around. We found what we needed but I refused to have my friends & I so openly disrespected & then spend our money there. Will share this experience with my other friends so they never get our business. Before I walked out I expressed my dissatisfaction with how we were treated. Never again

Boys and girls: sex is a part of life so, get over the stigma associated with an adult store.
I’ve been to Blue a few times to get some *personal* NSFW items. Each time, the staff (well, maybe this one guy who is apparently an owner or manager) is always super helpful and just… free of the stigma.
I mean, where else can you walk in and have an honest conversation about personal lubricants? the last time I walked in, I even got to sample a personal lubricant. (I was even given a paper towel to wipe my hands clean afterward)
Yeah, the prices are a bit higher here than other places I’ve gone to but the honest product conversations make up for it. You can’t get this kind of service at the local CVS, kids.

Wohl ein recht populärer und zentral in Chelsea gelegener Sex-​Shop, der primär auf schwules Klientel ausgerichtet ist.
Standardauswahl an Spielzeug&Co (wenn ich mich recht erinnere viele Dildos), Kondome, Gleitgel, ein bisschen Fetischkleidung, DVDs etc. Nichts besonderes, nettes Personal, auch wenn man einfach mal nur aus Langeweile durch schlendert.

Its hard to not make an adult emporium seem seedy (the «arcade» room in the back, with random guys walking in and out doesn’t help) but at least the Blue Store does have great customer service. If you want your space, they provide; if you have questions, they’re ready to offer their opinions. Definitely a wide selection of whatever you’re into!

WORST RETAIL EXPERIENCE EVER!!! I stopped in on a cold Saturday night to purchase one of the Venus Spa Gift sets for a friend, I HANDED the owner, my card for the transaction, and he carelessly threw it back on the counter towards me. I told him «we dont do that» and then got into a heated argument about manners and how to treat customers. When I threatened to not sign the slip and walk out it was only then that he handed me my card. He then told me I was exaggerating about it and overreacting. the people he has working for him are cool, the owner however, needs a lesson in customer service and should not be behind a counter AT ALL.

I shop here from time to time. It is a little pricy. I love when they give me a great deal!

I was just visiting New York city, so I Unilocaled the nearest sex shop. I found the Blue Store, and I’m glad I did. The staff were very helpful. I was specifically looking for a Bullet Vibrator, which they unfortunately did not have. Instead of just saying no to me, several clerks tried to help me find an alternative. Together we looked over the options, and I eventually bought myself something. I’d recommend this store to anyone, not just gay men (or self-​proclaimed straight men who feel the need to emphasize their heterosexuality when reviewing a gay sex shop — here’s lookin’ at you, Matt E.). ;)

The Blue Store is probably one of the biggest and best gay sex shops in the city. I’m not gay but they have lots of toys that would be just as good for girls here that me and my girlfriend could also use (they also have a tiny straight section in the back) as well as a ridiculous selection of lube and poppers. On top of the toys they also have a large selection of DVDs (again mostly gay movies). The prices here were cheaper than I had seen anywhere else and the only one working here was by the register so there wasn’t anyone to bother me as I looked around. All those secretly gay guys will be glad to know that they also double bag your purchases, first in a brown paper bag which they tape up, and then a black plastic bag that looks like it came from a wine store. They do take cards and I’m sure anyone nervous to have a sex shop show up on their statements wouldn’t mind something that said «The Blue Store» on it and not like «Fantasy World» or something like that. In addition to the shop they also have peep (viewing) booths in the back. They might not have the biggest selection of toys for straight couples but it was good enough that I came back here to save money and buy something I found at Babeland for more money.
They also have a pay «arcade» in the back for questionable activities, especially during late nights for those of you looking for that kinda thing.
