I’m obsessed with how they make my eyebrows look like heaven. Very full and dark from just a normal threading. I also do a lip wax here and I’m never red. I usually stay red for a while after a wax, but they use something like a rose wax. I’m not sure how it’s better but I am never irritated. I used to commute to my old place in Astoria until I found them.

Im very confused with all these comments, It was my first time and I had a great experience, staff was attentive, friendly & fast. Also my eyebrows came out perfect.
I was hesitant to go based on all the reviews but im glad I didnt care and decided to try it out anyway. Its up the block from my job so its super convenient and an amazing location.
I have been to MULTIPLE places, some of the reviews say that the thread burnt you ladies? I barely felt it, so Im not sure what those reviews are about.
My coworker has been there too and loves it as well, if youre looking for a place to get your eyebrows threaded and this location is near you, please dont waste your time reading the negative reviews, with the reviews I read it seems like some people are just envious of others success.

I found this place to be great. It’s right near the office. They are quick. So I will be back. Im not familiar with threading costs but 12 seemed reasonable to me. The wax I received on my neckline was tough– not sure I will ever do that again. Lol– actually I probably will — hahaha

I have been getting my brows threaded for a few years now and I’ve tried a ton of salons in NY. When I found this place, maybe 5 months ago, I have been getting my brows done here every 2 weeks. I never have to ask for a specific employee cause they are all great. They have never messed up my eyebrows. Strangers are always complimenting me on my brows. COMPLIMENTS ON MY EYEBROWS PEOPLE! You only notice someones brows if they are either messed up or on fleek. Do yourself a favor and get your eyebrows threaded by a professional at this salon.

This place sucks!!! I am reporting this place to the better business bureau! I got my upper lips waxed there and she burned off the skin! Not only did I have to attend my sister’s wedding with an awful scab on my face (which will be in ALL the pictures!) — but now it appears to be scarring! These people are not trained properly. Absolutely disgusted.

I’ve come here several times over the past two years because it was convenient and at times I’ve gotten really good service, but I just can’t anymore. One should never have to come home from an eyebrow threading and have to pull out her tweezers to fix the jagged shape an aesthetician leaves behind. But I just did. Do yourself a favor and walk over to 9^th avenue where you’ll pay half the price and hopefully have a better experience. Oh, and having wax dripped onto my freshly blow dried hair was not cool.

I’ve gotten my eyebrows threaded my whole life. This was absolutely the WORST experience — so painful and SLOOOOW. Please do not waste your $ 12 at this location.

I usually don’t go out of my way to post a bad review, but THIS PLACE NEEDS TO GO OUT OF BUSINESS. Since I live nearby and was in a rush, I came in to have my eyebrows shaped. Not only did the woman wax too much of my eyebrows, but she also left a huge cut/​scab on my right eyelid and of course, did absolutely nothing about it. Three days have passed and the wound is still painful and extremely noticeable :(The lady didn’t even show me my eyebrows up close and now I know exactly why. Wish I hadn’t given her a tip, their prices are pretty expensive as it is.

Threading Station is okay for eyebrow threading, I’ve been here about 10 times and they have never messed up my eyebrows. They are quick, clean, and in a convenient location for me.
I think the thread may be a little harsher than what is used at many other salons, because I have gotten burned by it once or twice. The cost for eyebrow threading is $ 12, (steep but not unreasonable).

Very friendly staff, quick service, clean environment, and they do a great job every time. Always happy to return to them.

I’ve been to this place a few times before and I’m no stranger to threading. I’ve had a few bad experiences at some other places, but this is by far the worst experience I’ve had. Although, this was one of the cleanest threading salons I’ve visited.
It seemed fine at first; I thought the technician understood exactly what I wanted. She had me check out my eyebrows midway and it didn’t look clean at all. I asked her to get some of the forehead hair close to the eyebrows and she begins to take down the eyebrow that was already thinning. That was it! I realized she didn’t understand a word I said. At this point everyone is involved and they all seem to understand what I’m talking about, but she’s trying to state her case. We’re not arguing or yelling, but she’s persistent. The manager tries to tell me it looked okay, but I knew otherwise. I wasn’t looking for a miracle, but after telling the manager I was very dissatisfied he should’ve offered a solution. Good customer service really goes a long way. They just didn’t get it.

A little on the pricey side for threading ($ 12), but the space is very professional and the décor is nice. I just happened to be in the area eating lunch and I needed by brows cleaned up for the wedding I was in. She did a pretty good job, but it felt a little rushed. I’m not that picky when it comes to things, but $ 15 is a little pricey with tip.
Would I recommend others to go back as a regular? Probably not. It was a one time thing for me, and lucky for me I don’t live in NYC.

I have gotten terrible eyebrow threadings before which is why I’m pretty cautious when going to a new place. But I never left them bad reviews because they took responsibility when they messed up and not blame the customer.
Helllllooooooo customers can’t even do anything to mess up their eyebrows when getting threaded.
Anyways, I recently moved to New York and dropped by this professional looking threading salon much like my old one without Unilocaling first and BOOM — I shouldn’t have done that.
This middle aged lady with long hair that wished to keep her identity hidden due to her terrible skills (apparently she has many regulars — I was told that when I voiced my concern) threaded only the bottom part of my eyebrows. I asked for a noticeable arch and the eyebrows not too thin but she messed up.
There was no shape and unflattering. Isn’t it her job to shape eyebrows that will complement people’s faces?
She said due to my natural eyebrows, that’s the best they could be.
Well lady, I have an after picture of my favorite eyebrow shaped and threaded by my go-​to girl in SoCal on my phone.
However, she proceeded to tell me it’s not possible — with that picture in front of her!
My eyebrows are average and that’s not a complement to myself. That also means that they’re not irregularly hard to shape by a PROFESSIONAL.
There was no apology and she just continued to tell me why my eyebrows are unshapeable:
1.) I don’t have enough eyebrow hair. Well I actually have more for her to work on since I’ve been procrastinating on finding a new place.
2.) I had put «makeup on.» Sorry to say that it’s au naturel. Picture was taken right after a threading because I liked it so much and wanted to use it as a model for threaders when my go to girl wasn’t around.
3.) It looks better in pictures. Dude, her threading of my eyebrows are just as terrible in a photo that she took trying to excuse herself.
I was asked not to come back if I’m unhappy with my eyebrows. No disagreement there.
But what nerve to ask me to not come back after messing up my eyebrows and giving me an attitude.
Then I came on Unilocal to write this review and just wanted to slap myself for not taking two minutes to read the reviews on this place first.
So fellow Unilocalers, this is my warning and good luck. As for me — I will start my journey on finding my next go-​to person.

Been here once and it left my eyebrows looking amazing for the past couple of weeks. I steered away from it because of the reviews but it ended up being the best place in manhattan for eyebrows. Even though they charge $ 12 for them, they do a hell of a lot more for the buck than the $ 7 or under places! Highly recommend!

This place is despicable. I’ve been going here for the past few years purely due to the fact that it’s 2 blocks from my apartment. It’s extremely over priced, nearly 50% more than most threading salons in the city and the service is horrible. They’ve also screwed up my eyebrows numerous times. In addition, they have attitude towards customers & bicker over who should take them. One lady is extremely aggressive with threading & I have left in pain with scars. Stay away!

So I have been going here on and off since 2011. It was close to me and even though recently I moved, I wanted to stay loyal. I’ve had a few bad eyebrow experience and the one time I almost cried because the same one who ruined the reviewer before me (in the picture) also ruined mine! But usually her friend and the only other one who seems to work there would fix it. Today I went and got the fixed who proceeded to do an awful job. I asked her to take off a hair and the eyebrows did not look right (and I have been getting them threaded there for almost 3 years but for 14 years total). She said no they need to grow. I said no, I came in with fully grown brows that just needed cleaning up but she refused to take out the hair I asked her to take out (as she has forgotten to clean it up). I believe she didn’t know how to take it out without taking out other hairs and it would show how awful the shape was. I said I just want to pay and leave.
We go to register and I stupidly still tip 18% and she said all the time you do this. I said do what? She said you never like it always complain. I kid you not. She said I always complain. After I signed the credit card receipt. With the tip. I never complained first two years but now it’s just awful. I complained two times before because of bad work. Two times in three years is not all the time. They don’t like it if you know your stuff and if you know what you like. So I said well if I always complain then no worries-​I will never come back again.
And I won’t. I would rather pay more and travel further to Shobha and get both proper work and good service. Still can’t believe it. So no, if you know good eyebrows and like them done properly with good service then do NOT go here.

This place is near home so I really wanted to like it. I’m only reviewing brazilian wax services.
I was encouraged by the «no double dipping» sign in the window (you never know with some places…) so I went in a couple of times.
The first time I went, the technician acted really annoyed when I told her what service I wanted. I wouldn’t be too psyched about it either if I were her but still… Service itself was all business. No conversation, done in 8 minutes tops. I was more or less OK with that, paid, and went on my way. So they weren’t that friendly but at least they did an OK job.
Second visit– friendlier service but really unfortunate overall. I won’t go into detail but let me just say they were a little careless about cleaning up wax, putting on oil etc afterward and I ended up with a UTI. No question about where it came from– I knew as soon as they finished the service that it would probably happen. The doctor’s visit and antibiotics ended up costing me way more than a wax at a nice spa would have.
The wax itself was fine but they might need a briefing on basic anatomy… I won’t be back.

The staff here is super friendly. I usually go here for the wash and blow. At first I went because the location was convenient but then discovered that it was great. They do a wonderful job, I go here before every special event.

I should have read the reviews first!!! So sorry I didn’t, now I have scabs on my lip and brows where she took too much skin off w wax and caught my skin in the thread. Terrible experience and when I went back an hour later to show them they wouldn’t do anything. Don’t go!

This place isn’t worthy of any stars or any sort of review because I had that much of an atrocious experience my last visit this past Friday. However my experience was so terrible, I thought I would be doing a disservice to any future customers by not writing a review.
I have visited this place a total of three times. The first two times involved my getting my eyebrows threaded and my sideburns waxed. Based on those first two visits, I quickly learned that you must be extremely clear and detailed as to how you want your eye brows threaded. Moreover, I learned that if you have extremely sensitive skin or sensitive skin period you should not get waxed here. I broke out and my skin did not calm down for nearly three weeks. Pretty sure that’s not normal.
This past Friday I had no idea this would be my third and final visit. I walked in and immediately felt a bad vibe but chose to ignore it. The man behind the desk was being quite rude to the employee speaking to her as if she was incapable of understanding one word of english. When I told him I’d like my eyebrows threaded, he pointed me to the chair to sit. The woman he spoke to turned out to be the woman who would thread my eyebrows (check out the photo I posted on here.).
I explained to her in the simplest way possible on how I would like my eyebrows done. She wasn’t even a minute into my eyebrows before stopping and asking how she was doing. I was horrified when I saw my eyebrow. I knew she wasn’t done yet but before I could point out what was wrong she asked if I liked the way she began to shape my eyebrow. I was concerned we were on two different pages and explained to her again how I’d like them done. The entire time I spoke she just nodded her head quickly and said ‘yea. yea. uh uh. uh huh.’ as if being dismissive to anything I just told her. I figured it was a culture or language barrier…
At the end, one eye brow was thicker on the top than the other one was. One eyebrow had been cleaned of stray hairs while the other had not. Both were clearly differently shaped and looked homeless chic. I kept asking her to fix one part that was particularly bad and she went about threading other parts of my eyebrow rather than the part I asked her to fix. It became clear she did not know what she was doing and it was then I insisted I would do it myself at home.
Towards the end, I asked her what went through her mind as she was threading me after I tried to explain to her four times what I had wanted and all she said was, «You know… I know why it looks like this. Your eyebrows are shaped differently». I told her no to which she replied, while wagging her finger at me, «No. No you don’t know. It’s true.» I was enraged and even debating if I wanted to go back outside in public. It was that bad. Then I thought, why would I risk having one of the other women fix my eyebrows? I could not believe that I had to pay $ 12 for botched eyebrows.
I immediately booked an appointment at another salon the next day. My results? They were magnificent and fixed perfectly. The way they were supposed to look after I left Threading Station.
I will NEVER come here again and I will ALWAYS tell everyone my horror story here. Please save your money and time by not going here.
