Just Trees

We used Just Trees to remove a huge live oak that was growing against and over the home that we purchased a few years ago. Every step of the process went smoothly. We received a fair proposal and the workers did a fantastic job both in removing the tree but also in keeping the property clean. Additionally, they are insured, which is hugely important in the event that accidental damage may be caused. I wholeheartedly recommend Just Trees.

I can’t recommend Markus and Just Trees enough. After being devastated to learn that our mature Arizona Ash needed to come down, we interviewed several arborists on the recommendations of Scott George (who is also amazing and provided us with consulting but did not want to recommend his own removal services to stay unbiased). Markus was exceptionally knowledgeable, humorous, unpretentious and walked us through our tree removal and stump grinding. He also spent ample time with us, on multiple occasions, discussing what our next steps could be for planting new trees, improving our soil/​drainage, native suggestions, his expertise in the available tree stock in town, etc. He was also extremely competitive with his rate — quite literally $ 1,000 less than one of our quotes (and on par with the other). Though we certainly didn’t expect or require it, he was present on-​site for almost the entirety of our removal, supervising his team with precision and care — and generously carving out some «slices» for our daughter to count the tree rings. Markus is in our speed dial for our future consulting, pruning and planning needs!

All I can say is, AWESOME! I had a large tree snap during this past week’s storm. I had already been working with Markus to get all my trees trimmed and one removed. When the tree snapped I called Markus immediately and he was at my house first thing the following morning. Within an hour he had a crew there to take down the tree. His crew was awesome. It was a very precarious situation in that the tree was not stable, it was right next to my house, my deck, my fence and my new landscaping. Not one thing was damaged or broken and not one twig was left in my yard when they finished cleaning up. Hands down, Just Trees is the best!

Only tree trimming and tree removal company I use. Why? Real arborists. This means they will not butcher a tree you keeping. I have a number of rental properties and my personal residence and I trust that they will do the job right and not over charge me. They are best for larger jobs since they have a minimum. So call them for tree trimming for all your trees at once or for a big tree removal. Don’t call them for the small job.

TL;DR I had a tree and now I don’t.
So, let’s say you have a giant, drought-​striken non-​native tree looming over your neighbor’s driveway and a giant branch fell one foot from their brand-​new luxury car. Cue some long, nervous days. I called about eight arborists and learned that all of them apparently take a nice, long week to the National Arborist’s Conference (or maybe Cabo, who knows) in the middle of July. Cue teeth grinding and two entire weeks without a single bite.
With Scott George’s referral (see previous review), Markus was able to prioritize my project, navigate City bureaucracy and raze that tree in less time than it would have taken me to scale its 50-​foot high dead branches and beat it into smithereens. Which I was close to doing.
He was no-​nonsense, low-​drama and high-​energy. Use him! He’s got equipment and know-​how for the tough jobs.

We lost several trees in the 2009 drought, and once we figured they weren’t coming back, we took a neighbor’s recommendation and called Just Trees. They came over that day to look at the trees, consulted on which ones to cut down, gave us an estimate and scheduled the work for that week. It’s not cheap, but they did a great job. They worked HARD all day and did more than we expected. They took away everything that we didn’t want to keep as firewood, and they cleaned up well after themselves, They were careful about cutting limbs so that they didn’t mess up our grass and fences, etc. We recommend Just Tress very highly.
