Promise Equestrian Center

We have been at promise for about a year and a half now approx and have had nothing but a wonderful experience. The owners are doing their very best to fix the barn up! We have seen major improvements over the past few months. Very accommodating. Cheap board for almost all day turnout, regular feeding, stall cleaning, ¾ mile track and tons of property to ride on. Very happy with what JC and Gary are doing with the property. Speaking for Kelly McCaughey (my trainer and our hunter jumper trainer here), we have been very happy and so are our horses! Our horses have gotten fat and happy after being at our last farm down the road that wouldn’t feed our horses the correct amount. This place has tons of potential and as the barn fills up more improvements will be made. Overall, great people, great property with tons of potential, and our horses are happier than ever.

Yuck… this place has a lot of cleaning up to do. The walls and ceilings are falling apart, the bathrooms are not finished, and there is mold and grim everywhere. It is a new facility «newly obtained» but TONS more work should of been put in before opening this up for the public! Facility is large with a lot of potential but is no where ready for boarding use.
No working wash stalls indoor and out, not a lot of shavings provided for bedding, and not an ample amount of water provided either.
The indoor arena is «heated» but very very small, not enough room for more then two horses to be working and there is no outdoor.
Stalls are big but a little scary, horses have to step over a big concrete slab to get in and out and the normal stalling area if you are not with the dressage trainer is very cold and prison like. Concrete everything.
The tack store is a very nice thing to have, but its second to everything else.

This is a great place to board your horse. The stalls are HUGE and the pastures are even larger. The two indoor arenas and outside covered ¾ mile race track are really nice additions. The feedings and stall cleanings are always as promised (I have no idea what that other reviewer was talking about.) Brooke, the barn manager is really wonderful. Yes, she is young, but has years and years of experience, an equine degree, lives on the property, and takes care of the horses as if they are her own. My horse loves her!
Promise looks a little shabby, but don’t let that scare you away. The horses are taken care of with lots of love and it is safe. The owners are slowly fixing it up — and we have already seen improvements over the 3 months we have been there.
My horse has been in better shape since I have moved him, too — he lost his excess weight in a slow and safe manner while building up muscle (so much room for him to play), and his frogs look better than ever!
Promise is also all-​discipline friendly. There are people in here form show world, trail-​riders, and retired horses. This is definitely a no-​drama barn, so please leave that behind, and know that it will not be tolerated. :) I ride my horse to de-​stress from my job, so this «rule» is GREATLY appreciated.
