Description

Specialties

LCRA is making enhancements to the Camp Creek Recreational Area to improve amenities for the public, make the park more accessible to visitors, increase visitation, and help the park’s longevity and sustainability. LCRA will add a park host site, designated camp sites, paved roads and fencing later this year.

A grove of pecan trees gives campers great places to set up tents or picnic at Camp Creek. The park, on the north shore of Lake Travis, is popular with anglers, especially those in search of white bass. Boats can be launched from the free boat ramp.

Boaters on Lake Travis and other lakes are required to drain their boats after use to help prevent the spread of zebra mussels.

Overnight camping is available on a first-come, first-served basis. No reservations are required. All groups over 20 require a Land Use Permit.

Prior written permission shall be obtained from LCRA for any organized group activity on LCRA land involving 20 or more individuals. Currently there is no fee for park entrance or camping.

History

Established in 1941.

The property was acquired by LCRA in 1941. Historically the land had been previously used for life stock grazing. For a short period of time from 2004 – 2009 the park was operated by Burnet County.
