Cohen Hillel Academy is the North Shore’s only Jewish day school. A pluralistic school for grades K-8 in Marblehead, Massachusetts, CHA draws students from at least 12 communities north and west of Boston, from families of diverse backgrounds economically, socially, and in degrees of religious affiliation. What the families share is a desire for their children to experience an exceptional academic education grounded in the values that have defined Judaism for millennia.
History
Established in 1955.
At Cohen Hillel, students thrive in small classes taught by master teachers. The curriculum is interdisciplinary and experiential so that students tackle real world problems through discussion and activity, and the teachings of Jewish scholars are considered whenever relevant. We offer a strong academic curriculum in language arts and STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) within which students are encouraged to use their creative skills to explore and express their learning. In addition, they develop their art and music skills in separate classes taught by specialists at all grade levels. As part of our Jewish heritage, the concept of «tikkun olam,» the obligation to repair the world, is integrated into their school life beginning in kindergarten.
