WZ Tavern East Cobb

This place is really hit and miss, I’ve been three times now and the food has been progressively more disappointing each time. Last night the wings I got were dreadful, tough and stringy with parts that were so hard they were inedible. I think they’d been sitting out and were re-​heated. I’ve had better wings from Little Caesar’s! Come’on, WZ, you’re a wing shop! At least give me decent quality wings! The many reviews about slow service are spot on as well. It’s a great looking place but really inconsistent.

We ordered the Hummus, Chicken Quesadillas and Flatbread. Everything was delicious. The services was great.

Wow! Such a great place! My husband and I ate at the bar on Wednesday night and had a great time. I had the black and blue flatbread; it was so good!!! Paige and Amanda were our bartenders and they were very personable and attentive! Paige made this cucumber mojito type drink and I loved it! We will be back and I definitely recommend this place!

Enjoyed my meal tonight, had the French dip with tots. Wife had the Mediterranean salad, also good. Will be back.

Bar service was slow and on not attentive to our needs, food was decent but not over the top by any means. I’ll probably try it again because I live right up the street but I won’t be in a rush to do that. Everyone has a bad day, but I wish the bar staff talked to us as much as they talked to the servers and the guys that were obviously regulars. Great location. So I’m sure they will work the kinks out.

Nice to have a wings and beer place close to home we have started coming here instead of driving to Taco Mac with our buds we both have babies — mines about six months older then theirs — and we don’t like to be too far from home with the babes. This place fulfills our wings and beer cravings satisfactorily
The garlic Parmesan wings, while tasty, are best eaten hot. Prob not the best choice if you’re gonna bring a squirmy baby and can’t eat them as soon as they’re placed in front of you.
The second time I went I ordered a salad and added salmon. The salad was good. The salmon was «wings restaurant salmon». Not amazing, but what did you expect?
Both times I got the Blue Cheese Chips. Ok so yum!!! I love those things.
They’re family friendly, clean, and close. Perfect for a bite with friends.

Good wings, beer, and TV.
We had a couple of the flatbreads (Steak & blue cheese /​Buffalo chicken) and the Chicken n waffles. The service was prompt and friendly and we never waited for refills on the drinks. It was a Wednesday night, so not a peak time, though it seemed to take about ten minutes longer than I expected to get the food, again no big deal.
The chicken (of the chicken n waffles) was a huge portion, though heavily overcooked and just about bone dry. The waffles and syrup were very good. Both of the flatbreads were good as well. The place is better than average and It’s nice to have a new dining option in the area.

Loud, rude and generally intolerable. Manager Todd Miller can’t be bothered and a teenage mall clerk would be better at leading customer service efforts. This is a synopsis of multiple visits but the most recent (right now actually) is the worst. Food is passable but doesn’t make up for the truly abhorrent atmosphere and attitude. Save yourself the time and money and visit one of the other locally-​owned establishments in the area that actually gives a crap. Can’t wait for Moxie and Marlows to open. Maybe they will close this place and make room for something better. Still leaving a 20% tip for our server because I’m a better person than old Todd.

I have come here now I think seven times and decided that I should upgrade my rating. I originally gave three stars mainly because I thought the service was a little lacking and the ambience didn’t click with me.
I’ve come a few more times, mainly on Sunday afternoons when NFL games are on. I have found this is really an excellent place to sit at the bar on a game day, drink beer and have a meal. The TV placement is excellent, and audio from the main game is broadcast. The bar is not too big which gives it a cosy feel. I found if I got there about 30 minutes before the games started I could get a seat easily. As the season wound down, the seats became more plentiful.
The servers at the bar are friendly and keep fairly good tab on you. The beer selection is really good. It’s not overly extensive (á la Taco Mac), but the quality and variety is good. I really like the Founders Porter that they have, and a Belgian IPA they serve is also good.
I’ve had a few different selections from the menu. The menu is not just run-​of-​the-​mill offerings but has some originality. I really like their Big Red sandwich, which is a chicken sandwich (I think the chicken is deep fried) with buffalo-​type sauce and jalapeños. The sandwich is really big and tasty and a good bargain for $ 9. There is a variety of sides you can select from — you’re not just restricted to fries.
I look forward to coming here more often and am glad they opened up here close by in my neighborhood.

Went there today for lunch. The atmosphere, food and service were excellent. The wings are great. Had mozzarella cheese sticks (homemade) best ever. Will be returning.

Have gone here several times and haven’t had anything we didn’t like. The burgers are my favorite!

Dropped by for a belated New Years cocktail w a friend. Good atmosphere. Nice employees.
Ordered 2 appetizers at the bar, beer battered shrimp and kettle chips. Let me start with the cocktails .they were great! But, If you like cooked shrimp dipped in a beer batter and then recooked, this is for you. Way too chewy/​unappealing for me. And the kettle chips sounded good but had a greasy off-​taste when they cooled down. Our bartender removed them from our bill. Prob won’t be back except for a cocktail.

We visited at 6 p.m. the Sunday after Christmas and were promptly seated. The place was understaffed and soon slammed; I don’t believe they anticipated how just many people were ready to get away from the Honeybaked ham leftovers!
They advertise an artisan cheese plate of local cheeses. It was great. I love cheese and asked THREE separate servers the source of the «Local» cheese; none of them knew. Finally one came back from the kitchen and proudly informed me the cheese was from the DeKalb Farmers Market. Yes, but before that? Nobody could tell me.
I had to ask someone to get our server to take our entrée orders.
The food took forever to come out and my sweet potato fries were cold; the server promptly got me a replacement plate of hot fries. The hamburger was quite tasty and served just as I requested.
My friend’s fish and chips were delicious. The beers and cider were icy cold; we were offered cold glasses and water.
We had to send someone to get the server to bring our check, too. And when we left, people were waiting inside and outside to be seated, even though there were empty tables. I’m guessing it was because they were shortstaffed.
I’m willing to give them a second chance; they’re new in the neighborhood and I’m guessing it will take a while to correctly gauge the customer flow.

Awful service! Went twice. The first time, went with family. It was 4pm so the place was not busy. The waitress was VERY slow to serve food and then even slower to get us the check. Went again tonight (always a fan of second chances) with my 10 year old son. They tell us it is about 15 minutes before we sit down. 40 minutes later still not seated. The hostesses do not even have the common courtesy to give us an update (we were literally waiting in a chair 6 feet away from where they stand). We left and went to Chick-​Fila next door. My son was too hungry to wait any longer.
The food is decent. The place gets busy but their staff struggles to manage through it.

There are a lot of TVs here. I think I could see 10 or more TVs from my seat. So, this is a great place to go if your husband is still watching the game but you want to go out and eat. The opening of this place was the highlight of the area. People talked about it for months and when it finally opened the wait times were ridiculous. Thankfully it’s next to target if you need to wait and also they have a great system for letting you know when your table is ready. There’s an app and also they can just text you. The food was delicious except for the Mac and cheese which was really bland. The chicken and waffles, though, was amazing! Best I’ve had anywhere. Glad I ordered that instead of the fish and chips which really is only fish and you have to order the fries as your side. Can’t wait to come back soon, great addition to the neighborhood! This place has more than wings :)

Food… meh. Service and staff… pretty good except for the dirty wine glasses the bartender served us.
Overpriced for the quality. Had the buffalo dip which was good. Caesar salad tasted bland and so did the burger. Noise level was high but it was also 6:00 on a Friday night.
The beer menu looked appealing enough to go back but that would be the only reason I would.

Went there with my wife this evening. Something just did not seem right as my experience 2 weeks earlier was so much better…
To start with they did not have Sierra Nevada on tap. Really? I also asked for a taste of Belgium IPA and they were out of that too. Sadly I ended up with a bud lite.
Speaking of lite (light) what is the deal with it being so bright in the place? I felt like I was having dinner at a Golden Corral. Seriously, if you want to be a tavern then dim the lights just a little please.
I will go back for one last time as the food is good, but this time the fries came out room temperature.
Come on WZ! Give me a reason why i should continue coming there instead of going to that other Tavern that is being built nearby.

This place is about as average as it gets.
1. Thought the WZ stood for «Wing Zone» but the wings were buried on the menu and missed them the first time through. They also don’t have the traditional mild, medium, hot that people are accustomed. Ordered 6 to start off and they got to the table cold. They are also smothered in sauce and the only napkins you get are cloth which can get dirty real quick.
2. Got there at 5:45 on a Sunday and had to wait 15 minutes. Looked throughout the restaurant and saw numerous open tables. The seating appears to be according to a computer rather than actually walking through the restaurant and noting open tables.
3. Ordered a chicken tender platter that comes with 2 sides for $ 11. The sides are generous but only comes with 3 tenders. Lose a side and add a tender or 2 for that price.
3. Ordered a black and bleu burger. Nothing special about it. Very average.
4. Our server never checked on us or kept drinks full. I had to get my wife a refill from the bar because she had been empty so long. Three ladies at the table next to us had to go to the bar a few times to get service.
Overall, the experience was very average. I would eat there again but there was nothing special that would make me want to go back.

Tough review! Food is 5 stars! Growing pains for sure!
Been here twice now. Food has always been 5 stars!
Reception and wait staff seems like they are learning! Down to 2x no straws offered with drinks! Amazing cause they have plenty of staff standing around wondering what to do!
Two visits and our family order has been… Close to what we actually ordered.
I will be back for sure! The food is good! They have a lot to learn about being a restaurant! Plenty of staff and management on thier heels! Party of 3 arrived at 5pm on a Friday exited 6.15. Appetizer never made it. Drinks weren’t refreshed.
I hope they figure it out! Food is awesome! Front of the house has no clue!
