UPS Customer Center

This is the second time I’ve had to resort to coming to this place. I feel awful for anyone who has to come here because these employees must hate life. I watched a woman struggle to comprehend why her passport wasn’t an acceptable ID as the employee took pleasure in denying her package. Then not only was I told my package wasn’t ready but the information customer service online told me was incorrect. I made a trip out of my way to hell. Customer support said I needed an ID with matching addresses, ups support texted me my package was ready for pick up– neither true.

Terrible, terrible, experience. UPS held my gift and said only shipper could authorize delivery to home. I contacted shipper on Saturday and they contacted UPS and were told UPS would redeliver on Monday. Stayed home all Monday. No package arrived. Contacted shipper and they said UPS inexplicably said they wouldn’t redeliver and gave no one any notice of the change in plans. Said I would need to come pick it up. Loathe to do because of poor reviews and i suspected there would be complications my ID only has proper name, not shipping address (i delivered package to brother’s place where we’re staying for Christmas.)
Shipper confirmed with UPS that I just needed an ID with EITHER the Name or shipping address. I wasn’t sure so I double-​checked with two online reps and even printed out my chats and they confirmed that I just needed ID w/​either name or shipping address. I specified the Maspeth center and my particular package and they said, calm down, they will give you your package. I went to UPS today and sure enough they would not release package to me without ID that had matching name AND shipping address on ID.
I told him I spoke with 3 reps who told me otherwise and implored him to call UPS or take a look at my printout. He refused and assured me that they were all wrong and told me to get out of line and overall treated me like I was a pest.
I spoke with UPS online again just now and they called the center and confirmed that the center REP was wrong and apologized and asked me if I’d trek out to Maspeth again to pick up the package and take them at their word that this time my package would be accepted. Supposedly now they will redeliver on Monday.
SOOOOOOOOOOO MADDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD. Ruined my Christmas gift.

Congratulations to UPS Maspeth, they won the award for the all-​time worst business in the entire New York State. They should be closed down for such bad customer service. They are notorious for ignoring people on the phone and face-​to-​face. Managers and employees are not very bright, obviously underpaid or at least work like one.

i want to give them negative points if I can! I am waiting here almost two hours to pick up my package, just one stuff in here, very very very slow! OMG, It’s wasting my time. Stupid ups, stupid company.

So here’s the deal. Would I spend my off time here or do I look forward to going? No. But if you know what to expect and you come prepared then this place does what it says, it gets you and your package united.
The line can be very long so bring something to do. Bring a battery pack for your phone. Wear comfortable shoes. Make sure you have the tracking number and have it written down on a piece of paper not just on a screen shot or in an email. Have photo ID with you that has the same name and address as what is written on the package (this is not negotiable, I’ve seen people almost in tears leaving without their package because their ID does not have the address that matches the package)
I find that if I speak to the people who work there as I would like to be spoken to then we get along just fine. It’s not their fault you weren’t home three times when they tried to deliver your package. It’s also not their fault that there was a delay with the shipment. Raising your voice or using foul language just pisses them off. I’ve witnessed it.
You get the idea. Accept your fate, show up with the right info, get in line, get your goods. ;)

Always long wait. Driver (s) tend not to deliver on time to Flushing, NY. Been waiting for package for THREE DAYS NOW!!!

This place doesn’t even deserve one star. How the HELL do they hire these people?
I ordered a bunch of things on Black Friday, and when I get home today, I have a missed notice package on my front door with a note «Packages left behind garbage cans.» WHO THE HELL LEAVES A HUGE BOX BEHIND THE GARBAGE CANS IN NYC? My garbage cans are on the SIDEWALK, OUTSIDE of my apartment building. Mind you, it was also raining all day today. In what world does a driver think it’s okay to not only leave a package on the sidewalk outside, but also in the rain?
Needless to say that the package was missing by the time I got home from work less than two hours later.

This place is the worst!!!
The label on my package CLEARLY stated, «DO NOT LEAVE AT DOOR RING BELL»
Why do they do? I mean, «What didn’t they do»? They didn’t ring the door bell! Someone was home!
And the driver let the package at the entrance of my building. Its MISSING!!!
Can’t the driver read???

I wish i could give this centre a negative rating, especially some of the drivers. I have to sit outside my house wait for a delivery truck 9 times out of 10, and on top of it being told my package is in the truck but its all the way in the back so i cant give it to you .

Ups driver unable to read 2^nd floor on the address, leaves info notice for 1^st floor neighbor.

No problem I’ll pick it up at costumer center. Dumb supervisor refused to give me the package claiming he needs wife’s ID since her name is on the package. My ID shows same address plus my wife’s name as emergency contact. He doesn’t care telling me to go home at 9:30pm and come back with her ID. It’s 40 minutes round trip claiming they will let me in. Never mind having wife’s name as emergency contact means more than showing her ID without her. How easy it is to steal an ID?!
I’ll use Fedex next time if I have a choice.

After another week of waiting from changing my address/​doing a re-​ship, both my lamps ended up broken in shipping. I’m not going to place all the total blame on UPS for the breakage, but the package was heavily dented/​dropped.
Once again, have it shipped to wherever you work or have a doorman, or risk it all.

The absolute worst customer service. If laguardia airport is akin to a third world country, then UPS Maspeth akin to having dental surgery by a toddler while watching ones family being tortured by snapping turtles in a room full of clowns that past retirement age. These people are chosen for services and paid?

As far as picking up a package goes, this was way more pleasant than the post office.
The cons are that it is in the middle of nowhere and the hours are when most people are not available. If you can’t be home to get your pacakage 3 times during the day, chances are going to Maspeth during those hours is not convenient either.
The pros are that the staff were all really nice and the wait wasn’t too bad. Parking was easy, as there is a parking lot.
Getting there and back is a pain if you don’t have a car or the package is heavy. But at least the people are nice.

They don’t deserve any stars. I have too many issues to write in this review but the service at this location just topped it off. They basically gave me no other choice but to come pick up my package here and it took almost two hours to get my package because they only have one person working the pick up line while two other employees who work the shipping counter just stand there and do nothing to help. Absolutely ridiculous…

This is the definitive experience of hell on earth.
Kafkaesque in its excruciating wait, lack of organization and completely helpful «workers». Their last priority is making sure you get your package in a timely fashion.
They’ll tell you to wait in their DMV style chairs but then they’ll never call your number or remember you’re there.
It’s a modern day torture chamber.
Remember to always have all your packages sent to your offices because I wouldn’t wish this experience on my worst enemy.

THIS PLACE IS LIKE A JOKE! I cant believe how they are still in the business! I paid for 2 day express shipping (they shipped Monday, it was here in maspeth tuesday)
When they attempted to delivery, driver claims that the apartment number is missing. Its A HOUSE. with that adress i put i received 46 466 more shipments (without UPS) with no problem. I was home ALL DAY during the delivery day and guess what, driver didnt even knock the fricking door!
I called them explained that there is nothing wrong with the adress i live in first floor and just make the driver knock the god damn door. They said ok and they «updated» the adress.
Next day i didnt go to work and i was waiting for delivery and checking it online at the same time. At 3:45 i checked and it said same thing! 10 mins ago driver came and there was no apt number and he left! And it says right after «adress is updated»
ARE YOU SERIOUS? YOU GUYS LITERALLY WASTING MY MONEY AND TIME!
I called them and they said that adress is not updated! Its even say that its updated when i check it online!
They dont have right to do that.
Since now if i plan on purchasing something online, and if i see that their carrier is UPS, ill just go ahead and purchase from another website. Because you guys SUCK. I might even sue you for the money i paid for express shipping and 2 days i didnt go to work. Its all because of your employers. They dont do their work right.

Blessed be the day onto which God graces you with the infinite joy of visiting the Maspeth UPS customer center. One can only pray that their life’s path should lead them to this supreme beacon of divine ecstasy.
I can only turn my eyes to the heavens and give thanks for the delivery man who so vigilantly refused to call my cell phone or ring any one of my neighbors buzzers. For by doing so, with such great passion, for 3 consecutive days, I have been delivered to the far reaches of Maspeth so that I can personally execute the one and only task for which the United Parcel Service allegedly exists to complete.
And lord, please shine your light on Ashley, the benevolent customer service representative who so kindly informed me that Maspeth should be ever so convenient for me, given its close proximity, just 3 short miles from my Bushwick residence. (And thank you baby Jesus for allowing me to simply ride the L 6 stops, then transfer to the G, for a quick 48 minute jaunt across these 3 miles.) The 800 number by which I reached her was the most perfect vehicle for never again being able to reach the kind soul who called from Maspeth to inform me, at least as much as I might ascertain from the garbled voicemail that was left, that I might be granted the privilege of paying call to what sounded like it might have been 56 – 13 48^th Street, between the hours of 8:30 and 9:30 this wonderful evening.
Hastening my journey with a marvelous bicycle ride through the wondrous streets of Maspeth, you can imagine my delight when I came upon a crowd of no less than two score like-​minded crusaders seeking truth and parcels under the cool flourescent glow of the pick-​up center. For brevity’s sake I shall not recount the details of the center’s interior. Should the reader wish for a close approximation, I can only suggest that she turn to the divine poet Dante, and replace the term «Beatrice» with «undelivered parcel» in her reading.
Alas, I should like to sing endless praises for this fine establishment, but my heart weighs heavy. For now I know that so many lost souls wander through their Friday evenings, adrift in the meaningless night of restaurants and watering holes. If only they know the ecstasy of the Maspeth UPS parcel center, perhaps they too might find purpose in their otherwise dismal lives.

After waiting almost an hour in line it turned out the package was still on the truck and the driver was making a third attempt when no one is home. I give up screw the package
Let them send it back.

I had to deal with the biggest bitch of my life trying to reschedule a delivery. As much as I want to complain about the time inconsistencies, that is nothing compared to the heinous customer service rep, Jennifer. So, this review is for Jennifer.
JENNIFER should lose her job IMMEDIATELY. And her parents should lose their jobs IMMEDIATELY for giving birth to such a person! JENNIFER is the rudest person I have ever had to deal with on the phone.

I order 2 day express package, when the delivered come, I was home all fucking day! but unfortunately there is no buzz for my floor. I kept checking online all fucking day until I notice the UPS guy already here but it was 1^st ATTEMP… WHAT THE FUCK!!!
the point is my outter door opened whole fucking time and deliver know this so they always leave package for me inside. So I dont know what is fucking wrong with this guy.
I called UPS customer service if they can send message to UPS local for my package to be left at the door without me signing, well let me explain! the ouside door kinda difficult to put any sticker, Ive been trying so hard to apply most sticky tape but it keep blown away and New York now is heavy storm and snow outside.
And the guy insist me if I see any notice from UPS bcz they might need my signature to leave the package for 2^nd ATTEMP. FUCK YOU. I just tell them the wood door is fuck up and wind is so strong, it’s not be able to put any sticker!!!
I try again to explain him to leave the package or call my phone number, u know what he said ??? the fucking UPS guy doesnt has cellphone with them during work !!!

then the other option is to pick up right !!! ok let me explain, every fucking time I go there I waste my trip every time, bcz they not only require ID, they fucking require for mail with address that match to address on the package.
I tried to explain them bcz I moved to new house and havent receive any new mail yet also i change option for most of billing mail to email option so how can I get prove !!! and if im not the owner of the package, how can I know if package is delivered which day cz I check thru email and it require password !!! So I grab some magazine with my name and address on it. What happen is they cant accept it cz they said it could be any name on random magazine that sent to each house. Now i see how much i wanna stab these UPS people .
ok here the end !! I must ask them to return package back to product’s facility and I will purchase again and sent to near store. BUT unfortunately the item i want is already sold out !!!

to all those who got same problem as mine. I sometimes ask the product store if they can delivered by USPS or Fed-​ex? or if u really got no choice at all. I recommend u to send it to store near you in manhattan and pick up at store. This way is the most convenient and prevent all complicated problem that Ive been facing for this UPS whole 3 years
Thank god that my recently products purchased online is being sent by Fed-​ex, my experience with Fed-​ex is if there no one come out after they buzzing they will call u so I can request them to leave package inside or come downstair getting package myself
