Decent neighborhood pub. Seat yourself policy on Saturday afternoon allowed us position ourselves to see the game we wanted. Spinach and artichoke dip was good but a bit thin, and the potato skins were standard. The waitstaff didn’t seem to know how to make the fall drinks on special(they brought one Salty Irishman and then took it away to «fix it») but every drink we ordered was strong! Happy hour pricing was nice.

Wanting to try a different fare in Massillon we headed over to The Irish Pub. Next time we’ll stick to our usual haunts. The pub is typical in its décor, lots of dark wood, lots of «Irish» stuff on the walls. We got there at about 6 p.m. and it was farely empty. Staff was polite but not hospitable. We were never told the specials or if there were any happy hour offers. We saw popcorn by the door in old fashioned machine but could never flag down the waiter to see if it was free or what. The menu is pretty limited — burgers, sandwiches, wings, etc. The food was the one element that got this place two stars. It was all better than decent. My burger was LARGE and the fries were plentiful. But I asked for medium and got well-done and it didn’t come with any condiments or vegetables(onions, pickles, tomatoes, etc). But since it took almost 20 minutes to get our meals to begin with I was just going to eat it. My friend had a corned-beef sandwich, she said it was good. Our waiter rarely checked on us to see if we needed anything. Never even asked if we wanted dessert. Might have gotten some if they asked. The experience was just not fun. Maybe if you went with your own fun and large group it would be better, just don’t be in a hurry.
