Gallery Seven Frame Shop & Fine Art Gallery in Maynard specializes in Museum Quality Custom Framing. Every piece is framed on the premises by co-​owner Nick Johnson who is also a fine art photographer with more than 25 years of framing experience.

You can bring the piece that you need framed to us at Gallery Seven or at no additional charge (Metro West area only) we can bring frame and mat board samples to your home or office to help you create a frame design that will complement both the artwork and the space.

At Gallery Seven the gallery space is not an after thought filled with posters and examples of framing. It is a serious space dedicated to the exhibition of fine art. Gallery Seven has a new exhibition every 5 – 6 weeks with an artists’ reception that is free and open to the public.

History

Established in 2008.

Gallery Seven Frame Shop & Fine Art Gallery is owned by husband and wife Nick Johnson and Kelli Costa. Together we have many years of combined gallery experience. Kelli was the Assistant Director at the Lee Gallery in Winchester, MA for 5 years and Nick was the Director of the New England School of Photographys Center for Photographic Exhibitions for 13 years. Nick has over 25 years of custom framing experience and does all of the framing at Gallery Seven, while Kelli runs the business and manages the gallery.

Business Owner

Gallery Seven is owned by husband and wife Nick Johnson and Kelli Costa. Together we have many years of combined gallery experience. Kelli was the Assistant Director at the Lee Gallery in Winchester, MA for 5 years and Nick was the Director of the New England School of Photographys Center for Photographic Exhibitions for 13 years. Nick has over 25 years of framing experience and does all of the framing at Gallery Seven, while Kelli runs the business and manages the gallery. Nick has been a large format fine art photographer for over 30 years and he has been teaching at the New England School of Photography for the past 22 years. Opening Gallery Seven has been a wonderful experience for us both. Many of our clients have become friends and this adds to the warm feeling of community at Gallery Seven with people often stopping by just to have a cup of coffee and chat.

Truly spectacular work. We had some large canvases that needed to be stretched and then framed. They had a great selection of frames and made it their mission to find us something we truly loved. Also they tried to find ways for us to save money and definitely didn’t push the more expensive choices on us. The framing job was perfect. They even came to our house to install one of the pieces that was oversized, and they were super nice about it.
We will definitely be using these guys for all of our future framing needs!

I have had a couple of pieces framed by Gallery Seven in Maynard. They always do a fantastic job! The latest project is 13 original prints by Dali, and I need them to be framed properly. I enjoyed working with Nick to figure out what frame and mat would work for the prints. He is a great person to brainstorm with for the options that fit the content and the size of the prints. He provided great suggestions of farming them properly, so these prints would be preserved correctly. I also enjoyed working with Kelli to arrange the logistics. They even came up to my place and hung the pieces for me. These pieces look great and it is exactly what I am looking for. I really appreciate their effort of doing a great job consistently!

Nothing short of spectacular!
We recently brought in for framing a new oil painting we bought in Europe (of decent value). Nick was patient and extremely professional in his ideas and advise. We have done lots of framing in the last couple of years since we moved here (another frame shop that we loved and reviewed favorably), but are extremely happy that we have found Nick & Kelli.
Frame was ready on the day they promised and the framing work is nothing short of spectacular, including features I have never seen on other frames we had made. It sure looks as if Nick things of everything, including attaching on the back of the frame a colored photo of the dedication I had the painter make for my wife (and that was covered by a protection layer).
It is indeed as good as it gets!

I have frequented this establishment a few times now. The customer service here is fantastic. Nick and Kelli are very friendly and extremely helpful. For a guy like myself who is less artisticly inclined they have done a great job of helping me pick out the right matte & frame for my pieces. And, they have bent over backwards to make sure that I’ve been happy with the final product! Gallery 7 is a gem, it seems uncommon these days to find a place like this that truly values their customers and the work they do. I simply can’t say enough about how great they are. They’ve won my business.

If Maynard is accessible to you then this is THE framing shop you want to use. Nick and Kelli are the definition of art professionals who put time and care into every project that comes out of the store. I have never had any items that were even slightly off from what I asked for and their pricing/​turn around time is equal to any others. Nick is a perfectionist and this shows in his work! Framing, like any other handmade craft, is not and should not be cheap and Gallery Seven is well worth your investment!

I’ve had two difficult framing projects completed to perfection at Gallery Seven. One was a piece of artwork that had been damaged (the artwork as well as the framing) and the fine folks at Gallery Seven were able to repair the artwork and reframe the piece and it looks as good as it did prior to becoming damaged. The second was the fifth in a series of family photos all matted and framed the same way which had been done by the FrameLoft in Sudbury, who had retired. This fifth piece had to match the other four it would be hanging with and Gallery Seven really went above and beyond to find the exact frame and matting to match this work with its four siblings. Well done, kept me in the loop on the progress and fairly priced. Gallery Seven has my business.

I’ll keep it short and sweet. I had a new large format photo to be framed and shopped it around to various framing shops in my area. Gallery Seven worked with me to find the right frame at the right budget. At other shops I felt they started me off at the very highest and their «budget» frames were not great quality or what I was really looking for. I could not believe the quality of the framing and great service. They under promised and over delivered, GREAT!!!
