I have been coming here for years and here is what i think. The range fees are fair, better if you come with a friend and share a lane. Definitely less expensive than any of the newer ranges in the area. It is an older facility so don’t expect state of the art range equipment, this is how they keep the fees down. I don’t even mind the target position crank, its kind of old school and fun. Although i wish they would improve the target holders. The staff. If you are new there and they see it, if you ask stupid questions, if you don’t know why you are there and seem immature, the staff will be dicks to you. If you go in, pay for what you need and move on to the range area, you will be fine. Yes, sometimes there is a guy watching your back from behind the glass. If you act professional with what you are doing, he will not bother you. He is there to protect you from the newbies, you will thank him if he catches someone who is not being safe around you. Come in, have fun, be safe. See you all there.

This is for the range only. I have not done any other business with them other than range use. I brought my own gun and did not rent one from them.
You get what you pay for. The range has low rates which is great — BUT it isn’t as modern as other ranges that you may be used to. The target carriers are manual and not electric. Which means that you need to guess at the distance and you can’t adjust the angle of the target. Not a big deal because again, you get what you pay for and the rates reflect the reality.
The acoustics are also not up to modern standards. Lots of steel, concrete and flat surfaces. Not a big deal because again, you get what you pay for and the rates reflect the reality.
If I had to guess, I would also say that they air filtration/​exchange is not up to par with a modern range as well. I am guessing on this — but the reason that I am guessing is because this range is in the basement of the building and there was a musty smell that enveloped you when you walk in. It actually reminded me of a bowling alley that you would find in the basement of a bar back in the 1980’s. Not a big deal because again, you get what you pay for and the rates reflect the reality.
Getting a lane was quick and easy. Targets were very affordable. The range is the closest to home for me and it serves its purpose

I have been coming to this range for about 30 years.
The Current Employes are gruff and not helpful. Went there 3 weeks ago & was looking at .45’s and the grumpy clerk pointed to their limited choice & said ‘This is all we have”. I told him what I was interested in but he made absolutely no effort to look anything up & possibly order. So much for wanting to sell me a gun. I wonder if the owner is aware of how his employees put off potential sales.
Later while on the range I got a tap on the window from same employee, apparently he thought I was not following range protocol. He rudely got in my face & said «thats ONE warning» & seemed like he was going to strike me. I’m 55 and don’t need some 45 year old hothead treating me like a bitch.
The range was not well lit and I think ventilation might have been turned off. Almost the whole time there was some old dude that apparently worked there (we had seen him behind he counter but he did not say a word) that hung out behind us, watiching almost the whole time & not saying a word. My female companion was a little creeped out by him.
Later on in the range some off duty cop came in with a student (he was wearing a badge on his belt & was wearing his cop shirt) He was somewhat boisterous and was throwing his weight around with people in the range, lecturing them on what they were doing wrong. I don’t need this as I guarantee I have thrown a lot more lead than he has.
It seemed like they did not want my business and I was infringing on the good old boys’ turf.
Needless to say a week later GAT got my range time & pistol order. To the person they were very nice & helpful. My new gun purchases will be there. I’ll try HP again in the future to see their personnel have changed.

Adequate size for a gun store in a smaller town. Range rates reasonable. Rented three 9mm’s: Beretta 92FS — it stunk. Loved the feel and my groupings were tight. BUT — every round didn’t eject and load cleanly as the gun was very dirty. Only shot 20 rounds — correction — loaded 20 rounds but only fired 15 as feed and eject problems cause non fired rounds to be manually cleared and ejected on the floor. Immediately exchanged for Sig Sauer 226. Sites were off down 4″ at 25′ other than that only jammed three times in 70 rounds. Then exchanged for Springfield XM which worked flawlessly for 60 rounds. Typical friendly and knowledgeable staff for a range and at least they didn’t blame the shooter for the problems.
Dear HP — it’s really not to hard to keep your rentals in top condition. Do you keep your personal guns uncleaned and poorly sited?, Your customer expect rentals to be in the same condition as your personal guns. I’ll go again once I’ve purchased my 9 mm.

It’s good. It may not have the modern look of those other guys, but it doesn’t have the prices either. Got a super great deal on my last gun from them. Most everyone seems nice. They don’t really seem to appreciate new shooters. I’m not a new shooter, but did catch some attitude from the owner. Maybe the poor ventilation and lack of sunlight makes you crabby? The range is just ok. Dirty, hot, and poor ventilation. Let’s face it, once you’re in your lane, who cares what it it like behind you? Even on target doesn’t have anywhere to set your range bag except the floor. At least HP has a counter in the room. No electric target send. It’s the old crank wheel, which is fine. Just when I go with my wife I have to do all the cranking because she can’t reach it.

Bill has done a great job with HP. Every member of his staff is great and have outstanding knowledge of the products they sell. I must say the website is GREAT. He keeps the inventory up to date, and I hate when I see a gun I want ends up being sold. Keep up the good work!

Decent enough range for doing some target shooting. It can get a little smokey in here at times though. Their prices are much cheaper than another range in the area but that one is admittedly a top notch range while this one is showing its age. Definitely get the range pass from them because that will save you even more cash.

The store and range itself are small, it is a no thrills place, yet down to earth and you can get here just about anything you need. The service here is outstanding… perhaps the best out there as they don’t come across as I know everything and your just a newbe.
The place can be a bit hard to find as it’s in this very tiny strip mall and you figure a gun range has to be somewhat big to accommodate the ranges. Right? Well, here the entire store and range is underground, so the entrance is literally nothing but a door which leads directly to a set of steps going down. The store and range certainly show their age and have been well used. But, from a business perspective this apparently keeps the overhead low as I find the prices here very reasonable!
As for the range, the check in process here is perhaps the easiest of all ranges in the area. These guys are very accommodating and I like that fact that they encourage openly on bringing your kids along.
The range itself is cramped and very loud. Okay, yea I know we are shooting off guns here and things just get loud, but here, the sounds really reverberate and I can really feel the shock wave at times when a .357 or higher is being used. I don’t get this feeling at other ranges. The range can also get a little smokey at times.
Despite these conditions, I really do like coming here as I get the feeling of being welcomed and I just feel very comfortable at these ranges. Some of my tightest patterns have been shot here and I think it has to do that I’m very relaxed when coming to this range.
If you can, it seems that during the week days, just at opening time, the ranges is generally not as packed and I find it a great time to come.

HP Shooting Center is a small but fun shop and range. Range is a bit short and can get rather smoky at times, but it is very inexpensive.
This is NOT the place to take out your brand new .50 S&W. But if you want to spend a bit of time sending rounds down range, or test out that new box of defensive JHP in your pistol, then this is the place to go.
Staffwise, I have always had good experiences in my various dealings with Bill and staff. They have gone out of the way to help me as a newbie renting virtually everything while on range. They also never pushed (let alone offer) lessons from any instructor.

A decent little range up north if you happen to be in the area, but maybe not worth driving an hour or more. If you are in the area or up for a drive, by all means check it out. Friendly staff and a clean facility await you. The ranges have hand-​cranked target holders which I’ve never encountered before, which I thought would be a hassle but they really were not.

Great little store. I love going to this range whenever possible. Bill is always super helpful and friendly. I would recommend this store to anyone.

My husband and I went here for the gun range. It’s small but good enough for some practice. The owner is nice and helpful. I will go back again.

Range is OK but needs better ventilation especially when all the ranges are in use. The owner/​employees can be moody at times and sometimes feels like you’re inconveniencing them when you show up. The price for the range is on the low end of ranges in the area so that is good.

Awesome people… Down to earth and VERY helpful… Bill (the owner) can get you ANYTHING you need for shooting… I have purchase Firearms, Scopes, Magazines, Ammo, Shooting Bags, Cases, and TONS of accessories from HP and I have NEVER been disappointed by his Service, Quality of the Product or the Price… It’s AWESOME to have such a good facility for the gun enthusiasts so close to home… I HIGHLY recommend HP Shooting Center for EVERYTHING shooting related…
