Sherry Kazerooni, DDS, LVIF

The dentist is not a place I love to go but I have been going to Dr. Kazerooni for 8+ years and I will never go to someone else as long as I live in the area. I am not a fun patient, I am scared to have even a cleaning but she and her awesome staff do their best to put me at ease. I would highly recommend her to anyone who is fearful/​anxious about the dentist as she is so gentle, and explains clearly what she is going to do.
As far as price, the dentist can be an expensive endeavor but I don’t think her prices are higher then average for the area, in many cases lower. She also does not attempt to sell you extras and add ons or perform work that is not needed. A few years ago I was in for what was to be an inlay, but once she started working on the tooth she found she was going to be able to do a lesser procedure (as filling instead if I recall). This tells me she is looking out for my dental health and not for her own profit first and that is a very good feeling to have, as I have had several bad experiences with dentists who seemed to be out just for the money.
She actually seems to care and is generally a nice person. Convo at the office is pleasant, and she is the kind of person who I actually want to know as are her staff members. While its not the most important thing in the world to like your dentist, I believe she is a genuine person who is ultimately good and is looking out for me. So I trust her when she says something, she always shows me as well, but her word is believable to me. I know if she says I need something it is because she believe I need it, not because it will make her money. That’s a quality I really like in my doctors.

Dr. Kazerooni really cares. The staff is very friendly and they worked me in to a very busy day when I was in pain. I expected to have to wait but she came out and brought me right back rightaway. She seems to have the very best equipment and really keeps up with her continuing education. I like her so much I switched my kids to her even though we were very happy with their dentist. They love that she shows movies on really cool glasses and she «has them involved in their procedures» by telling them what she is doing and allowing them to hold the suction. I am a doctor and I know that anesthetic takes 10 minutes or so to take effect and it has always bothered me that dentists will rush and start procedures without waiting until you are numb. Dr. Kazerooni makes absolutely sure you are comfortable throughout the whole procedure. I have been putting off having some crowns replaced foryears but I am going to have Dr. Kazerooni do them now.

I visited Dr. Kazerooni few months and I am a changed man. I am no longer afraid of going to dentist. When I was a kid, I had a horrible experience with our family dentist. I always avoided going to dentist unless my tooth ache was unbearable. I owe coming to this office to my coworker that recommended her. I was reluctant, but thanks god I came to see doctor Kazerooni.
Office is extremely clean and beautiful, it is more like a hotel. Office is all high tech, it looks like Star Trek or Star Wars. Staff are very friendly and ready to help. They took care of my information papers and insurance.
Dr. Kazerooni is very gentle and takes her time. The first visit she cleaned my teeth and took pictures from my teeth. Her assistant took xray from my teeth as well. After the cleaning Dr. kazerooni went over my xrays and pictures and explained in detail what I need to do to fix my gum and teeth.
I have followed her treatment plan and I feel great, I am taking care of my gum and teeth that I neglected for so long. I got two crowns done, and they did it in office in one hour, no more wait two weeks and do not eat on that side. I am also taking care of my gums to make it healthy again.
I recommend Dr. Kazerooni to everyone, specially to people that are afriad of dentists. you can not go wrong.

I’ve had the pleasure of coming to this dental office for at least 6 years on and off. I’m impressed by the lasers used for gum cleaning and cameras galore so you see your progress. Based on my experience I would recommend deep cleanings, also called scaling and root planning, yearly checkups, and cavity procedures. My deep cleaning involve cleaning my gums and tooth roots with little pain. Her staff are excellent at pain management; cavity work done with no pain. I never felt the needle and she takes her time explaining every procedure.
Con– the practice is out of network so be prepared to pay a little extra but she’s really worth it.
Pros– Top quality practice. No drama, no long waits, no rude office staff, clean and modern office setting. Excellent pain management. Detailed consultation with photos and instant digital images. No cancellation fee.

I’m a new patient with Dr. Kazerooni’s office. I had been seeing the same dentist for more than 10 years prior to moving to Virginia. In all honesty I was little apprehensive to see someone new due to the relationship I built with my old dentist.
I must admit to my surprise when I was able to be seen very soon after calling for an appointment. The front staff was extremely friendly and very accommodating to me and I thought the office was very clean and warm.
After having a cleaning and check-​up exam I was told I needed a crown on one tooth which didn’t surprise me because of an annoying food trap I had on my right side, and I was able to schedule an appointment for that right away. The crown was able to be done in one day. My other dentist’s crowns always took multiple visits and at least two-​three weeks to get it completed.
Dr. Kazerooni had a very gentle touch, and her massage chair topped it all off. I was more relaxed during my treatment than I could’ve ever expected. The appointment lasted a couple of hours but it didn’t mind it at all. I had music playing, good conversation with Dr. Kazerooni and her assistant Beatriz, and a massage… IT WAS GREAT!
The other reviews on here made me a little nervous but after experiencing it first hand, I know I made the right decision with selecting my new dentist. It wasn’t the cheapest visit I ever had, but I understand that I paid for top quality treatment. I really do look forward to returning, and I plan on bringing my reluctant husband along with me for his dental care.

My husband was referred to Dr. Kazerooni by very good friends. He was so impressed by the professionalism, friendliness, and high technology used in his treatment, that I thought I deserved the same. It just happened that a week later I woke up with a tooth ache. I called the office and not only did I get an appointment for the following day, but I had the whole procedure (which involved x-​rays, the removal of a crown, impression for the new crown and the final crown) done in one day. In addition, Dr. Kazerooni adjusted my bite, which was very bad, and was most likely the cause of my headaches.

Don’t be fooled by other sites that have reviews or your initial impression of dr kazerooni’s practice. Like others who have provided positive reviews I initially felt good about the service I was receiving despite dr kazerooni’s brash personality. When I reflect on my experience I recognize now that she is cunning and manipulative. She builds trust and slowly works in unnecessary treatments under the guise of her high tech equipment. I am certain now that I had cavities treated that were not cavities. I am certain she badgered me to come to her office four times a year when it was unnecessary. I am certain she pushed out of pocket fluoride treatments and a water pick on me. All of these smaller events were leading to the big push requiring me to have a 15k out of pocket treatment that was all my fault due to poor hygiene. Bottom line I got a second opinion and none of the was necessary. Dr Kazerooni is criminal in my mind because she is a medical professional with no ethics. Beware all you current patients. You all are her next victims.

I have been a patient her for the past 6 months, and I must say I wish I would have come here yeas ago. The office is very welcoming, and the front desk staff makes you feel right at home. Unlike most offices where you feel like a number, I was welcomed offered a beverage and seen just as I got comfortable. Dr. Kazerooni, was very gentle and helped me understand all of the procedures before and after doing them. She also calls to check on you after procedures, which is something I have never experienced. I recommend this office to my friends and anyone who is thinking about visiting this office.

Extremely pushy experience. Felt like they were shaming me during my appointment. Were not upfront about the insurance costs and only found out after I had set my appointment that they are out of network for all insurance companies. Pushed me to get work done that I don’t feel I need and don’t have time. Was extremely frustrating because I ended up not even getting my teeth cleaned. Now I am concerned about what kind of bill I am going to get for a few x-​rays and pictures that were taken. Do NOT go to this office.

She is my dentist for a long time and I like when it is time for my dental cleaning or any other dental procedures that needs to be done. Office is very clean, modern and comfortable. Office staff are professional and helpful. Getting an appointment is a breeze and office staff try their best to accommodate me. Also, I have always been seen on time which is a big plus. I do not remember a time that I had to wait event five minute. Two weeks before my appointment I get an email reminder as well as a phone reminder two days before my appointment. There are lots of parking spaces and that is very good.
This office is state of the art and they have all the latest technology. Last crown I got was done in one visit, they have a machine now that makes crowns in one visit. I love that because I do not need come back to office in two weeks and no temporary crowns. Dr. kazerooni is very nice and helpful. She explains everything before starting any procedure. She also takes pictures from my teeth and explains why I need a dental procedure such as crown. I had many dental procedures done in her office and all of them were pleasant.

Discrimination against middle-​class at its best. Never been treated so awful by a dental «professional» before. the first visit was ‘pleasant’, (dentist said she could help me with my TMJ symptoms), but the office staff seemed very pushy. pushy to get in quick to get the work done b/​c my teeth are «awful». Dr. Kazerooni asked if I got my fillings done in a third-​world country.
When I started asking more questions about the cost that’s when everything started going downhill. when looking over my treatment plan they sent home with me, I called back asking questions b/​c they were wanting me to pay at minimum $ 15,000 just to start. the front desk staff said the dentist would not go over plans over the phone and told me to come in. so when I came in (at my scheduled time), Dr. Kazerooni’s first words to me were, «What are you doing here?». I told her I came in to go over my treatment options. she looked at me with disgust and looked at her staff and said some more nasty comments about not wanting to do the full work on me b/​c I can’t afford it and to not go over any more options with me. I asked more questions about the different options and she was just plain nasty, b/​c I couldn’t afford $ 15,000 to start doing my fillings. (she said it may be more depending on what else I needed to have done — root canals, etc). But this did not include my main issue: TMJ symptoms (migraines, insomnia, grinding, etc). these symptoms are keeping me from being productive at work and in life. she would not work with me at all on these symptoms. Just b/​c I can’t come up with $ 15,000 for fillings, she said she would not help me w/​my TMJ stuff b/​c I couldn’t afford it. she said she didn’t have anymore time for me and had to go work with her other patients.
If you can afford to give her a few luxurious vacations then go for it. she’ll love you and treat you with dignity and respect. But, if you are not rich and cannot afford to spend at least $ 60,000 on dental work, please don’t go here. She’s very contemptuous.

You should give respect to get respect. It doesn’t come automatically because you believe in that.
So unprofessional, Unethical, only Money matters to them.
Watch out! They even destroy your record if you don’t want to be their patient anymore.
