Dave’s garage has helped me with several needed repairs on my older vehicles over the last 2 years. The first was an A/​C repair, the second was a oil leak that another shop had failed to repair correctly, the third was a CV Joint replacement and the fourth was a 4-​wheel brake job.
In the case of the oil leak, Dave insisted that I take the car back to the shop that had failed to fix it in the first place; they did, after I told them what Dave said they probably did wrong. The other repairs were performed professionally by Dave’s. The estimates were close to if not spot on. In one case, the actual cost was less than half of the estimate when the repair turned out to be easier than expected.
All repairs were explained to me and the worn replaced parts were shown to me after the repair. The work was scheduled on a first come, first served basis. On one occasion, the shop was too busy to do my repair that week. I felt that they did their best to get to it as soon as possible. Dave’s reported each vehicle repair to Carfax.
I am an older man and I do not feel that I was taken advantage of. I would not hesitate to recommend this shop to women. Its not a shiny new facility with a nice waiting area however it is close to Downtown Mac and Dave will give you a ride home if you need it.

Awesome guys… Took a flat tire. Dropped it off and returned later in the day. Super nice friendly guys… Even though they couldn’t repair my tire they directed me to Dominguez auto body shop in mac behind American Legion… Guy has tons of used tires for sale when in a pinch… Thanks guys at Dave’s!!!

Called back to schedule service. Dave was very short with me and didn’t believe the problem my car was having. Basically told me to take my car elsewhere. Called 2 other mechanics who told me my problem is common and an easy fix.

Professional and a good price. Love that they repaired my car without trying to push other services. Will definitely use them again for future repairs!

I’m a first time customer. My son who goes to college in McMinnville, his car wouldn’t start, we knew it wasn’t the battery. Took it to Dave late on a Friday, by quitting time that day he had it diagnosed and fixed. I was impressed with the service, the cost and especially his honesty. He could have stuck it to us but didn’t. I would use Dave again if needed and highly recommend him to others.

I have been using Dave’s for about 15 years. I am not a mechanic, but I play one in my imagination…
Mainly, I have been able to get my cars fixed immediately, without any sense that I might have been taken for a ride. With my old cars, I do get this feeling sometimes when I have gotten work done elsewhere.
It may be that MAC is considered easy pickins by dishonest mechanics. I had the experience twice of getting utterly false info from two other local places about my previous car; caveat is that this was about 10 years ago. a) «I can’t possibly say a single word about whether II could fix this transmission leak or not». Turns out that multiple guys in California said immediately that since the leak is slow, it can only be the pan gasket, because a leaky seal doesn’t just seep, it drains the fluid and you’re done. No rebuild necessary, $ 100 bucks for the new gasket. b) «Sorry we just can’t do the alignment on your front end, it needs a rebuild, cost is about the same as the car is worth». So I drove it for years and bought the cheapest tires I could find, which the misaligned steering ate through in about 20k miles. Except once when I was buying new tires the kid said «WHAT is the problem» I see no reason I couldn’t align it. If I can’t, no charge.” He did a routine alignment and it held until the car died a few years later.
So, I’m sayin’, you can trust Dave.
