secluded and clean campgrounds just off the blue ridge parkway Great value for your money for sure: around $ 26, — in early October for 2 people to pitch a tent is not overpaid when considering the location is nicely in a wooded area only a stone’s throw away from the Blue Ridge Parkway. Greeted by the owners in their little house annex office and the paperwork took only minutes. We had hardly seen cleaner washrooms on any campgrounds and the showers were nice and hot. The only minuses are that the tents are pitched on gravel which makes it more difficult to put pegs into the ground and makes it a little less comfortable. Also the road could use some more maintenance to make it more accessible for people without a truck or 4 wheel drive. Each tent spot had space for car and tent and there had a bench and fireplace with it. A small dimmed general light, was not disturbing at night but helpful and the general sink and electricity in the middle of all tent spots makes it a bit more luxurious. The also have RV spots and cabins but we didn’t use those.
