Smart Juice Bar and More

Overall, very happy with my experience. This was my first prepared juice cleanse. I’m not new to juicing and detox, but sometimes low will power and limited time to prepare juices at home gets in the way of sticking to a true detox. With my allergies and energy at an all –time low, I decide for the 5 day cleanse. I juiced throughout the day, and sometimes had a small meal during the day or evening. The staff was very helpful with instructions, and I received some reward snacks and a bar of soap to use during the cleanse.
If you’ve read much about detoxing and may have allergies, you might know many people have made progress or even cured their allergies by doing a juice cleanse. I’m 3 days in with 2 left to go, and am very happy with where I’ve gotten. I’ve had multiple allergy-​related issues that have greatly reduced or altogether disappeared within the few days. Keep in mind I’m not new to detox so your experience may include more detox symptoms like headaches. My skin has become visibly clearer and smoother. I haven’t been hungry on this cleanse, but do eat dinner since I prepare it. My energy levels are consistent throughout the day and I am energetic until I go to bed. That’s something I haven’t experienced in years. I’m very happy with the jump start I’ve gotten and will continue to juice and be mostly raw until I can come back for a 30 day cleanse. I love this place! I live in the area and this is my go to place! I love their juices and the staff is very nice! All their juices are fresh and their juices are helping me on my journey to weight loss. Sometimes I’ll juice for a day or I’ll replace a meal with a juice. I have not done the cleanse yet but I definitely want to do as a birthday gift for myself next month. Love this place!!!

So, went to Renew to get my detox juices today. Was real disappointed with the size of the juices compared to others. But ok ill see how it goes. The young lady was very helpful and explanatory about the detox, etc. I asked about the ingredients in the juices and to my surprise i was told, «its a secret, I cant tell you that». Wtf? I was instantly turned off and a red flag went up. You mean to tell me u cant tell me what im putting in my body, THAT I’M PAYING FOR! U could be putting anything in the juice and making a profit off of us u know? I instantly called the nice gentleman, Alex, that i spoke with the previous day and he sort of rectified things but still that will kill your business by being secretive with your customers. Anyone can research detox ingredients and make their own, its just going out buying the ingredients, having a juicer in which most dont, and taking the time to do it thats the issue. So u all might wanna rethink doing that to customers. Lastly, the elder lady that was preparing things, everything i was speaking w the young lady about, this lady was showing objection too after i told the young lady what alex and I discussed via telephone. That there was another turn off which is making me second guess my decision on this as well as returning again after i finish my detox. Just being honest. The young lady & alex are super nice though. Will update later once i get going on the detox.

This place is a gem! All the prep for a juice cleanse is done for you and the service is very friendly and helpful. There is a lot of juice to drink in a day and that was a challenge, but the juices tasted better than I was ever able to make on my own. If you are looking to kick start your health and want to try juicing I would recommend this little gem in an unlikely place. I will definitely make the trip back for their smoothies and delicious yogurt!

Renew’s 10-​Day Juice Cleanse is amazing! Their juice is not preserved and bottled like many other places; it’s completely fresh and extremely high quality. Doing the cleanse was all «mind over matter». Renew provides an excellent product; the rest of the work (not eating, and drinking a gallon of water a day) is up to you. Your results will be amazing! Doing their cleanse is a great way to get your eating back on track, rid your body of all the toxins that have built up, and lose weight. I never thought I could go ten days without eating, but Renew provided me with all the nourishment I needed, and the convenience of doing all the prep work. They are wonderful!

This juicing trend is bonkers cray cray but Renew Juice Bar and More seems to have the recipe for sustainability. Their focus is on juicing, smoothies, and salads, but they also have ice-​cream and local favorites like Chayomada (mago ice cream with red, spicy stuff at the bottom).
I stumbled upon this gem on my way to the mall but with an attentive eye for a place to snag a cold drink. And let’s be honest. I was hoping that this cold drink could also serve as my lunch. You can only imagine my surprise when I spotted Renew Juice Bar right off of Lake Street. Melrose Park and Maywood do naaaat have a reputation for having healthy anything. It only took me a hot second to decide to pop in!
I was the only person in Renew Juice Bar when I went in off the hot street to the only slightly cooler interior. I took my time examining the menu. It seemed like one of those granola-​loving, Birkenstock wearing, organic, vitamin popping sort of haunts. I mean, except for the ice-​cream counter and the fact that it was in Melrose Park. There was a freezer case with bags of cut up mango and other fruits. The juice bar had trays of kale, spinach, chard, and other things — enough to make the Whole Foods produce section nervous. The menu and other advertisements seemed as if it was part of a larger conglomeration — sleek, professional, and savvy.
A lady came out and spoke to me in Spanish. I get this a LOT. I offered to practice my Spanish with her but we quickly switched to English. We discussed my heritage (because clearly — why did my seemingly Hispanic parents not pass along the proud Spanish language to me??) where I disclosed that I am naaat Hispanic and my parents had no Spanish morsels to toss my way. But I digress…
I told her up front that I wanted to buy two juices (this was my lunch, after all) and she proceeded to give me tons of samples. I tried four or five samples and loved them all. Then she wanted to give me a deal on whatever I bought (which was generous of her but not necessary and I told her so). After lots of bantering I ended up with three small juices and one medium smoothie:

Sky Diver Smoothie
They all tasted like sweet salads. Like, you could taste the vegetables in them but they also had a slightly sweet characteristic that was delicious. I decided to skip the mall and enjoy my hour drive back to the city in North Avenue traffic while indulging in my healthy liquid lunch. It only set me back about $ 15 for all of that which is a cray cray steal.
