We offer Doggie Day Care, Grooming and Training. We have a beautiful indoor/outdoor play area for the dogs. We have only certified groomers on staff.
History
Established in 2001.
Kris & Scott Giles opened A Better Companion with the idea of offering a place where «dogs can be dogs». We wanted a place where dogs could come and play, relax, and enjoy the company of other dogs. With this idea and motivated by the love of dogs, we opened in May 2001.

Business Owner
Kris has always loved dogs, when she was small she drew pictures of dogs with a little girl holding thier leashes. After graduating high school, with the pursuit of being a CPA, she attended Middlesex Community College & Salem State. In 1993 she decided to make a life changing decision and become a dog groomer. Essex Agricultural College offered Grooming and Kennel Management degrees. Kris enrolled and graduated with honors in 1995. She has been working with dogs since. A wise man once said «If you love what you do for a living, you will never work a day in your life». To this day I do not think Kris has worked a day in her life.
