I cannot decide if I was completely underwhelmed by this place simply because of the fact that I went to La Maison right before hand(La Maison knocks this place outta the park) or if it was the employees that work here. My husband and I wandered around Antiques & Abbeys for a good 20 minutes– all the while not one sales person paid us any attention. Normally I wouldn’t mind, but they were sure paying attention to everyone else inside the place. Regardless, there were a few cute things– I spotted a couple of coffee tables and some leather chairs with wood frames that were pretty awesome. The price tags were a little pricey– especially seeing as everything was hugely discounted. Antiques and Abbeys was having a moving sale. Where are they moving to? No clue. Since no one would approach us, we couldn’t ask a sales person. Sad really, cuz I was interested in seeing this place when it was fully stocked and in its new location. There were no signs stating where the relocation would be, regardless I was so underwhelmed by the experience all together I doubt I’ll be going back. Word to the wise– don’t prejudge your clientele. You just may end up alienating some loyal customers. Antiques and Abbeys definitely had some things I would have purchased.

Antiques Within and Abbey’s Too is a favorite with me. I’m a sucker for armoires and old apothecary pieces, and Antiques Within has a great showroom filled with custom furniture and rustic looking benches, chairs, sideboards and buffets. They also stock some great oil paintings and wallcoverings. I really love Abbey’s Too as I go crazy for monogrammed or personalized items. Abbey’s has a huge selection of baby items, bags, bathrobes and other linens that are just waiting to have my initial sewn in. They also carry frames, soaps, pottery and dried flower arrangements. Check in here if you’re looking for a cute, original gift idea or a statement piece for your home.
