I haven’t been here much, and usually try to find these types of things at Target or Kohl’s first. They do have some really neat kitchen and bath stuff, but I could also order most of these things on Amazon for about the same price. Might be a great place to setup a wedding/baby registry for really nice kitchen ware or bed sets, but for everyday essentials and general home gadgets, this place wouldn’t come to mind unless my first 3 options closed down. We did have a gift card last time and used it with enthusiasm. Edit: It’s worth mentioning that the customer service has always been above average and the employees are friendly

Let me say this… If I had an extra $ 100,000 I could blow it in less than 15 minutes in this place… I don’t though, so screw this place! No, seriously I come here because they sell the best gadget in the world. This is the only place that I can find the Shark«Floor Sweeper». Add to the fact that they mail out those 20% off coupons every other week and it is always nice to see some new cool kitchen or home gadgets in my opinion. Have you seen the new Roomba??? That thing is from the future I swear. Anyway, this visit was a bust! No sweepers to be had anywhere and they could not tell me when the 10 they had on order would arrive. Boo! The staff is just ok… No winners here. Bleh Bleh Bleh…

I’ve always been more impressed with quality than quantity. So what does that have to do with Bed Bath & Beyond? Well, I feel like everything in this store is cheap with an inflated price. Two of my least favorite things. Throw in a non-responsive staff and you have one grumpy Joelle. This morning I was on the hunt for 18×18 pillow fillers. Should be easy peasy… or so I thought. I wander to the very back of the store and there are only 3 pillow fillers… literally 3! And they are all 20×20. So I wander around the store for 5 minutes trying to find someone who works there. Well, I find someone and he tells me that isn’t his area and to go back and wait for someone. I hear him call someone to come to that area over the intercom… but I waited 10 minutes, yes, literally 10 minutes, and no one came. I was so frustrated that I just walked out of the store. This isn’t my only time being annoyed with Bed Bath & Beyond. They may have«everything you need» for a home, but I just feel like everything here is cheap and plastic… and will break after just a few uses. Bleck.

Rule number one, don’t ever shop here without a 20% off coupon. They mail them out like candy, and they’ll even take expired ones, so there’s no excuse to pay their inflated regular prices. That being said, this store is both awesome and disappointing. Awesome because they have so many gadgets that you never knew existed(and now can’t live without), and disappointing because it’s often difficult to find a specific item here(and if you do find it, it’ll be overpriced). And the employees are usually space cadets, so don’t expect much help! For instance, I had a couple of bathroom rugs that I liked, and I wanted to buy matching ones to go around the toilet. But they no longer carried either color that I had purchased before, so I either had to live with mismatched rugs or buy a new set of matching ones. When I mentioned my dilemma to the cashier, she suggested that I look online — but I came to the store because I wanted to touch things before I bought them, and because I wanted them now, not next week. If I wanted to buy online I would’ve stayed home in my pajamas, not ventured out to a store during regular business hours. If you want a step up from Target, this is the place. Just don’t forget your credit card and your coupon!

Bed Bath and Beyond makes me a bit giddy on the insides. I don’t know what it is about the plethora of kitchen gadgets, bedspreads, candles and shower curtains. It’s all horribly overpriced and most of the items completely unnecessary. That being said, I still love it and the 20% off coupons I receive in the mail. I could spend hours in the kitchen gadget department alone. Who knew they made such wonderful products that could transform me into Julia Childs in my very own kitchen at home? The organizational department makes me feel like Martha Stewart. My mind tells me if I buy those plastic shoe boxes, tie racks, jewelry boxes and the like that they will magically make me a better person. My life will suddenly become less chaotic and much more orderly. A girl can dream right? I could spend a ridiculous amount of time wandering the many aisles here– and sadly have done just that. I generally don’t leave weighed down with packages, though. The price tags and the fact that I can find the same items(or better) for cheaper prohibits me from doing so. When it comes to BB&B I’m more of a «window» shopper. They get 4 stars because I have no clue how they make it an enjoyable experience to come and look at overpriced items I have no intentions of purchasing. Kudos to you BB&B.
