Renaissance

Tisha gave me the best massage ever and I have had many prior to this one. My facial was wonderful, too. Don’t let the unattractive curb appeal fool you. Very professional staff.

I was searching the day spas in Memphis for a bit of tension relief and stumbled upon Renaissance Day Spa on Poplar near East High School. Renaissance is in one of those older, 1960’s buildings along that strip of Poplar between Highland and Chickasaw Plaza.
The inside is nice enough. Not overly posh, but nice. I am not one for the glamour in the reception area as I am the quality of the massage. My massage was GREAT. I believe I had a student (who are not allowed to receive tips) and she did an excellent job. Excellent technique from head to toe. In fact, I love a good scalp and face massage — which many places overlook or barely attend to — and this young lady really listened to what I was wanting from my massage.
She even worked out the kink in my «crunchy muscle» in my left shoulder.
I would highly recommend Renaissance.

This place was HORRIBLE!!!
I would not waist one penny here. My friend and I got a spa package that was suppose to include $ 300 worth of «stuff» for a valentines day special of 150. First of all they re not professional. The girl up from was reading a magazine and she said can I help you and we said yeah were here for our appointment and she said ok and looked at her magazine again then we said it was the Vday special. It was not clean in there and it did not smell like a spa should. The mani/​pedi specialists were talking and their cell phones rang and they picked up, which mine finally turned off. I did not get the hand/​foot massage that the package emphasized on, it was not any different then a normal nail salon where they charge 12 for the same and better service. The massage SUCKED and after she asked me if I wanted to leave a tip!!! I couldn’t comprehend the thought that that was what she was asking me so I had to ask her 3 TIMES what it was that she was saying… I did not want to get a facial, but that was the best part, but then again I’ve never had a facial so I have nothing to compare it to.
I would never set foot in this place ever again!
